A bid congrats! Indeed patience got paid off! Any idea why they missed your IL before?

yeah. I just missed the April 2024 IL batch since my DQ date was late Dec 2022. Shortly after, the EB3 visa limit was reached and I had to wait until the new visa fiscal year. Also, I was still competing for interviews with the remnants of the COVID backup in MTL. Seems like the COVID backup has been resolved and the IL wait time is at a reasonable 10-12 month wait.

Some bad luck along the way but it all worked out in the end. Couldn't ask for a better interview process.

    I just got my IL.

    EB-3

    DQ Date: Oct 26, 2023

    Interview Date: January 17, 2025

I have some questions about the medical exams.

The following are the requirements provided by one of the consulate-approved doctors near my home for visa applicants:

    1 - Valid Passport

2 - Interview Appointment Letter from Consulate

3 - DS-260 Form (Visa and Alien Registration Application ) if available

4 - 4 passport size photos (may be required)

5 - Immunization Records (see US vaccine requirements)

6 - List of Medications, Surgeries, and Medical Conditions (your family doctor can provide this)

7 - Prescription Eyeglasses (if required)

My Questions: Regarding No. 6 (List of Medications, Surgeries, and Medical Conditions):

---I don’t have a family doctor. How should I obtain this list?

---Is it an official document that must be provided by a family doctor?

This reads like Dr. Lyndon from visadoctor. Follow their registration process and then email them with your questions. They respond in near real time. Much of what is described on their website is not required...example: they only need one digital photo sent via email...no 4 passport photos.

  3. After a very long process, I am happy to share that my interview yesterday went smoothly and my GC was approved.

The staff are friendly and professional. I strongly advise that your documentation to be well organized. There was a family struggling while presenting their documents because they were completely disorganized. Invest in a document management case with dividers from a dollar store. Also, ensure you have copies of all your documents.

I was the first appointment @ 7:30am and I was approved by 8:10am. This is fitting...having one of the longest wait times for an interview...experiencing one of the shortest interview processes.

We had our interview yesterday in Montreal. IL came on September 30. We were approved at the end

We did our Medicals with Dr. Zatzman and he was great.

Interviewing officer was very nice. Our appt time was 7:30am which was the first for the day so we were in and out in about an hour and a half. Most of that time was just signing in and waiting around. Actual interview was about 10 minutes

Any questions just ask! Still waiting for our case status to change to Issued.

What was the content of your employment letter?

    I have a short letter with :

    • date my I-140 was approved
    • my job title
    • salary
    • petitioner wishing to continue to employ me upon approved Immigrant Visa

    should the letter also include:

    • job description/duties
    • intended worksite
    • anything else?

You upload all your documents when you do the ds 260 in order to become dq'd. There isn't any further document upload.

You just bring the copies of all your documents to the interview and they look at the originals and take a photocopy.

It clearly states on the pre-interview checklist from the MTL US Consulate:

"Bring the originals of all required documents, as well as one photocopy of each. You must also upload these documents to your online application. The Consulate will not upload documents for you."

During your time between your IL to interview, did you upload any new documentation?

According to the interview checklist, we are supposed to upload documents to the online application. I have successfully registered for an account with "State Visa Appointment Service" but I do not see an option to upload documents.

Is there another online application that I need to register with and upload the documents?

Or perhaps my status needs to change from "Attend Appointment" to something else to turn on Document upload?

Hi there, we’re new here. We’re also EB3 and have been skipped from the last round of ILs. Priority date is Dec 20, 2021 and DQ at the end of Feb 2023.

Did any EB3s get their ILs this month?

You’re not alone. I’m DQ Dec 2022 with PD July 2021. With sept 2024 visa bulletin of Dec 2020 for EB3, you and I don’t have a visa available. Hope this date moves ahead for October.

  9. I think I found the reason why I was skipped. The visa bulletin just came out for September. The cutoff date for EB3-Skilled Workers regressed from August 2024(was 01DEC21). September cutoff regressed to 01DEC20. My priority date is 26-JUL-2021 which is after 01DEC20.
Fiscal year for visa's starts over in October 2024. Hopefully, the cutoff date is pushed past my priority date.

Oh apologies, I totally misread your PD! Where were you born? And definitely EB-3 SW, not EB-3 OW? Might be worth starting your own thread as this is an EB-2 one.

Born in Canada and EB-3 SW.

I know that many EB-1 and EB-3 use this thread along with the Google spreadsheet for tracking/questions. Not sure if another thread would be needed.

Then that's why you didn't get an IL in the April batch, your PD didn't become current until last month! Surely your lawyers knew you weren't eligible for a visa/interview until July?

How did you determine that it was current only from last month?

Looking at visa bulletin, I have been current for a very long time.

    March E3 was 08SEP22

April, May, June E3 was 22NOV22

July and August E3 was 01DEC21

My priority date(26JUL21) is before all of these dates. My understanding is that I am current. This correct?

Have you changed or updated any part of your file. I know people that have changed their address or added a new SO/child and that has changed they DQ date. When you check CEAC do you still have the same DQ date?

I haven't changed any part of my file. The last NVC email I received on June 28, 2024 stated that I am documentarily complete at NVC and has been since 28-DEC-2022. Other than the email, which website will show my DQ date?

I am "EB-3 Skilled Workers" with priority date of July 26, 2021

Great news! Congratulations. But what I'm baffled by is that they had stated for a couple of months that they were processing Jan 2023, but you (Dec 2022) had not received IL until now....

I haven't received an IL yet. I am happy for those that received IL because I understand the stress. But, I am devastated that I've been skipped again. During last batch of interviews(April 2024), my lawyers have reached out to NVC and Montreal but received standard response that I am "in the queue waiting for interview to be scheduled".

    Complete and total devastation.

  14. Question about travel into US while waiting for IL.

some context: I have not travelled into the US for many months since I was on a TN Visa while in process of green card application...this was recommended by lawyer due to single purpose intent of TN Visa. The risk was having my TN Visa cancelled since its not dual intent. I live in a border city and would typically cross the CAN-US border daily for work...I have done this for about 20 years.

Now that my TN Visa has expired, would there be any issue travelling into the US?

More specifically, is there a risk of rejection due to my green card status and history of not crossing for many months(18 months)?

    Thanks

If we are following any sense of logic, I’m anticipating @Wincity to get their letter next, out of all active EB forum folks.

    So, I’m rooting for Wincity.

That said, I’m chatting with my lawyers tomorrow and will share our (the forum’s) observations of what happened last year vs what’s happening now.

I’ll see if they can advise on any action….

    Thanks @AndrewsN

I'm extremely anxious but positive that I will be next to receive IL. Will let this forum know immediately when it happens.

    Fingers crossed...
