Hi,
Filed online on 2024-02-17 and already received the biometric reuse notice. Estimated time is 5 months based on portal.
Any from New Jersey filed online around this time.
Not in Jersey, but I filed at the end 1/28/24. My estimated time started at 4 months, went down to 3 months, then went up to 5 months. Like a week after the time went up, I got an interview date. The estimated time doesn't appear to be accurate for individuals

I got recommended for approval today in the Dallas office (Irving)!
It seemed like I would never get here, but thank goodness it's finally (almost) over. I sent in my N400 application 01/28/24....3 weeks after I had my second baby 👶. on 4/2/24, my interview was scheduled for today.
I was a little anxious because traffic was rush-houring the way I should have expected at 7:50am. My appointment was at 8:45am and the GPS was telling me I would be 3 mins late. I ended up getting there right at 8:45... which is not ideal but it was fine. I went through security, checked in and had my fingerprints and picture taken. Went upstairs, then waited about 10-15 minutes before they called my name. Another person stood up and was walking towards the officer. To her, he was like, "not you, the person behind you." I asked him how he knew it was me, he said he double checked my picture before he came out.
I went in the office and sat down. I had a thick folder with all my documents organized and labeled. I'm almost sad I wasn't asked for anything besides my drivers license and green card lol. I had started preparing the folder the moment my interview was scheduled. He asked me to stand and swear to tell the truth. He then asked basic questions....my name, dob, address, if I'm married, husband's name, kids' names.
Then we began the Civics test - Questions were:
- There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them
- Who is the Commander in Chief of the military?
- What is the capital of the United States?
- During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States?
- Why does the flag have 13 stripes?
- Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?
After questions, he asked me to read a sentence on the iPad "When is Columbus Day?"
Write a sentence on the iPad "Columbus day is in October"
Then we went through my application just answering the yes/no questions.
He typed some stuff for a minute or so then told me congratulations that I had been recommended for approval. Said I would get a notice in the mail with the time and date of the oath ceremony. By the time I got home, the letter was already in my documents in the online portal. Scheduled for 05/22/24.
For everyone still waiting, you've got this!
