  1. Thank you everyone 🙂 So in your opinion on the AOS this would be marked as NO for "Have you EVER worked in the United States without authorization" and the explanation for 'why still employed' is use all benefits before quitting?
  2. Hi everyone! Looking for some opinions/ anyone with experience with this seemingly gray area.. I will be entering via k1 visa at the end of September. My physical last day is in a few days, but the official last day according to the schedule is actually in October. I work for a place that offers a yearly 'mental health week' where you can choose to book a whole week off and get paid; it is treated as a PTO. My job cannot be done remotely (think Restaurant), so technically when I enter the States, I will be still an employee, but I will not be performing any work (taking that mental health week). My paycheck would include days after my entry (those PTO days). Would that be considered unauthorized work? I worry that during AOS it will look suspicious that I-94 shows September entry but last day of work is in October. Or should I treat my last day at work as my last physically-worked day? What do you guys think? Am I overthinking or should I ask for my official last day to be before departure? Thank you in advance!
  3. Thank you so much, that is reassuring😊
  4. How did you respond to the following DS-160 questions? 1. Do you have any specialized skills or training, such as firearms, explosives, nuclear, biological, or chemical experience? Would you say YES if you have taken a safety course (2 days) about hunting rifles (non-restricted in Canada), but have no gun license or any experience in military or shooting ranges? 2. Have you belonged to, contributed to, or worked for any professional, social, or charitable organization? Would you say YES for any volunteering even if it was as simple as folding clothes at a non-profit donation centre for 2 weeks? Thanks guys!
  5. For the following question, would you answer YES if you did a: "Non-Restricted Firearm Safety Course (Shot Guns & Rifles)", and passed, but DID NOT pay for a PAL license, never had any actual military training (or even went to a shooting range), other than this course? Do you have any specialized skills or training, such as firearms, explosives, nuclear, biological, or chemical experience? And for Have you belonged to, contributed to, or worked for any professional, social, or charitable organization? Would you say YES for any volunteering even if it was as simple as folding clothes at a non-profit donation centre for 2 weeks? Thanks guys!
  6. Hi guys! So a little background: I moved to Canada when I was 15, now I am a Canadian citizen (and older than 16 lol), and I still have my citizenship from my birth country (expired passport tho). No criminal record. According to the packet pdf, I should only get a police certificate from Canada, since I lived here from 16. Is that correct? Or should I also get one from where I was born? Looking at the US gov site for Montreal, it says "any countries where you lived for more than 12 months" but does not specify from what age? Has anyone who wasn't born in Canada but hasn't lived anywhere else since turning 16, can confirm they only gave the Canadian police certificate for the k1 interview? Thank you (-:
