  1. That actually makes sense.... It would track since they're saying it just needs like a "sign off" from the officer. What's strange though is they've told us that on Jan 23 (and case updated that day), and since there's been a couple unsolicited updates, but no email. You would think when they review it, they'd do it all in one shot, to just finish it. I guess not. This whole process is beyond illogical. No order, no reasoning, no transparency.
  2. It's interesting because we used to get the second update where it's just under AP, but recently (as of Jan) had them say pending review (or in the queue basically). I wonder if the wording really does mean anything. Those stuck for many many months, do they ever get an email saying pending review or is it always generic? Curious if we can extrapolate a rough timeline from when a reply says pending review to approval.
  3. Well it is true that when they reply to your email the date updates (presumably because they "open" your file to see). Ugh.
  4. We're also asked for CV only and our interview was Nov 9 2023, have had 10 total case updates but nothing from the consulate still. This is so depressing
  5. Just as an update: we didn't get any email or update from consulate today. Had one on Friday the 2nd, and one yesterday (5th), but nothing today.
  6. Yeah I've been tracking other people's cases, and quite a few have gotten last updated date changes in the last few days... Don't want to be hopeful..
  7. Wow! Curious to see then if that's the case. Haven't heard from the congressman or senator yet. for what it's worth, I emailed California ones
  8. Did they reach out that fast from when you contacted them? Trying to figure out if it's an "organic" update or not. It's only been.. 1-2 business days from when we sent the request to the senator/congressman.
  9. Got another potentially unsolicited case update date change today. Still unsure if it's due to having the congressperson/senator inquire for us (we heard from the congressperson on Feb 1 that they'll be reaching out). I assumed they'd have to wait for an email reply back or something, unless they have a direct line. Anyone have experience reaching out to representatives and seeing their case last update date change?
  10. When was your last case update date change on CEAC? I had sent letters to my senator and congressperson, and just heard back from the congressperson that they sent an inquiry on the 1st of Feb, so wondering if the Feb 2 update we got was due to them inquiring. But it adds up to the dates changing a week ish apart regardless, seems we may be close potentially. Your case and ours are very similar, curious to see if there's movement on your end too.
  11. Well this is our 9th update lol We had gone 30+ days with no updates, and the only updates we ever got before Jan 25 and Feb 2 were because of email replies so 😭 Just praying, thank you
  12. Yep we've been emailing at that frequency.. here's to hoping. It's strange the updates are a week apart, but I'll take anything. Thankful for it.
  13. Don't get my hopes up now haha Would be a dang miracle if so 😭🙏🏼
  14. So we just got another unsolicited case last updated change to today. The last one was on Jan 25, also unsolicited. Not sure what's going on, or if it means anything, because they're basically a week apart.
  15. Somehow I'm not surprised given the level of delays we're experiencing lol If only other consulates did IVs
  16. Just for planning ahead... To those who got asked to mail their passports (and new medical, if asked): how long does it take to receive it back with the visa in it once approved? I doubt anyone that is done with this is still hanging around, but I assume budget in about 4 weeks..
  17. Yeah we didn't get asked for a DS-5535 which I'm kinda thankful for but it also seems like any AP is taking forever regardless.
  18. When did you have your interview again? I forget. ours was nov 9, 2023
  19. Hold on: do you mean to say they told you to submit documents that were missing (I assume given a 221g), and you were never told what to submit? And just waiting so far to hear about what to give? the consulate asked us for only a CV, and we've been waiting for nearing 90 days now..
  20. Just sent a request to my congressman (democrat). Doubt they can do anything, but in a weird way I'm hoping the government exercises an audit on the consulate for being the way it is. There's no way it's working as intended. For records sake: interview on Nov 9, 2023 221g refusal asking for CV only, passport returned at interview been waiting ever since (we assume Mantis clearance/SAO needed)
  21. We had a last updated change on the 23rd (2 days ago) after an email reply. Today, with no email, got another status update on the case last updated, but status hasn't changed from "refused". Is this a good sign?
  22. We were also given a 221g. on it there wasn't anything specifically mentioned other than "mail passport when asked to" to them. the officer said we'd get an email with a request and the same day we got an email asking for only an updated CV. we've sent that in for a while now.. no need for DS5535 for us, or additional questions, but still waiting
  23. Oh god..... I'm sorry here I was being optimistic.. was there a gap period between sending the CV and when they asked for that info? Seems like it's a security check based on what my gut tells me. EDIT: just saw your next post, yeah they gave us the passport back on the spot, I guess knowing that it can take "however long". Interesting you were asked the additional info and the CV at the same time - we were only asked the CV. Hm.
