I logged into the interview schedule portal. She has a case there, says ‘active’ but that’s all I get, unable to search through interview options, even if they are full. When I did it previously, way back prior to the medical, I got further. Kinda drifting off with thoughts of ‘plan B’. That plan isn’t quite ready for daylight though.

I haven’t been here in a while, kinda in an extended holding pattern. She was tripped up in medical, x-rays like is not uncommon. She made it through finally a few months ago. With the previous scheduling at the embassy I was able to search & schedule an interview. I had to cancel once she got tripped up at St Luke’s. I just logged into the ‘new’ scheduling portal, didn’t get far. It basically said, due to reasons with application, or other reasoning, log out for at least an hour. I’m on the page, any answer on why it’s a dead end? Yes I realize there may not be any open slots. Why am I still here? Well, if possible I’d still go through everything. In the interim I’ll do the visiting thing. Since I’m going over there, I thought we could try getting to the next step together. Is it a fee issue? I’m sure I paid earlier, no doubt long expired now. Anyone want to schedule an interview for us?? I’ll check things when I get there. What type of proof that the medical is complete and passed? I hate to ask, is it 6 months then one starts over? Just back to fill in a few gaps, she came clean on this. She said she lied about the St Luke’s visit, the reason being to pay her father’s medical bills. Of course he has been at a totally separate medical facility. Also to mention, he has been a VERY absentee father, virtually no contact or financial assistance. The rest is up for evaluation now. I told her it would of been much better to do the explanation first rather than the lie about a St Luke’s visit. I may jump ship over this, seems like a very serious betrayal. After some back & forth, my version of ‘Tampo’ is next.

I know, the thing is, most everything has been ‘normal’. I don’t consider myself naive. This is a little concerning. I did ask a bunch of details before I mentioned St Luke’s doesn’t show being open on the weekends. Maybe it comes down that there isn’t much to ask? I know many of the ‘red flags’ that get mentioned. I also don’t see a good explanation for this. Is it almost time to close this chapter?? Maybe.

She said she went this morning, Sunday, 5th, 2025, that address. I’ve been over 3 times, things have been normal and well. I do find this a little troubling. I created a gap in my work schedule and was planning a trip over in a few days. She sent a screenshot of some weekend hours. I realize there are a few other St Luke’s facilities, mostly services for locals. She did say it was the address I posted above, the site used for Visa applicants. I plan to continue the evaluation.

The way I see it, one has to satisfy St Luke’s to get to the interview. There may be ways to message the margins, but they control the marching orders. I’ve had someone ask, ‘can’t they just get treatment later on’? The answer is no. One has to adjust for the conditions presented.

We just ended up with this, 6 month TB treatment plan. I was thinking it was a possibility. The way I understand it, more an issue with the X-rays than active & current TB. I’ll look for a window to go over and visit, may take a few months.

It’s easy to cancel an embassy appointment, I did it once, will do it again soon. Is there a chance you may use it? You could cancel it 10-14 days ahead of time. I think that’s early enough.

Yes, we are scheduled. The more pressing issue is working through the sputum testing and possible treatment. I got an interview for mid Oct, we’ll see.

The medical should be easy to schedule, yes there was that code they send. I’d keep trying, I think I noticed a lag when I was doing it, not almost instantaneous like banks & financial institutions in the USA. Once you get through, should be many slots available. Just to hedge your bets, try to schedule an embassy out in the future a little. They were just a bunch of openings, I’d grab one out a little ways. If something comes up you can always cancel it.

You are not alone in the club. I don’t have any inside info, had to cancel mid August due to sputum testing. I had an embassy interview scheduled, released it for someone else. I think it’s best to check while the embassy is open, mid morning to later afternoon Manila time. I think someone has to ‘seed’ any openings. I think one could check over the weekend or when they are closed, and get nowhere. Again, no inside information, just going by what I surmise.

Not to that level, but the 3 day ‘sputum’ test is very common. It seems she may require a little more? In our case, she has to do the 3 day test, just finished. Now it’s an 8 week wait. As to extra costs, my understanding is most is covered by the initial payment for the St Luke’s medical check. Again, your situation could be different. Seems to me, best to keep St Luke’s involved in some fashion, since they are the ones you have to satisfy. The medical check cost is supposed to increase on Aug 19th or so. Of course, hotel rooms, flights, food, $$ starts to add up.

I would do the medical ASAP, just in case she gets caught up with the ‘sputum’ testing delays. I wouldn’t waste time trying to call to schedule an embassy interview, do they even allow that? In general, I think one has to check for interview openings when the Manila embassy is open. If checking between 9:00 A.M to 3 P.M. USA CST, don’t expect new openings. I think a worker at the embassy needs to ‘seed’ those interview openings. I had to cancel ours on the 13th, I’m sure it was filled quickly. The medical at St Luke’s is easy to schedule.

This is of course at the USCIS level? Soon after sending in ? If a complete rejection, rather than a simple RFI, for more information, maybe redo everything? In many of the blanks, it’s usually suggested to put ‘not applicable’ rather than just leave them blank. Of course it depends on the specific question. I printed off all the instructions then went very slowly, triple checking everything. If they asked for something, provided it best I could.

I don’t know your exact case, or Indonesia, but it seems extensions are common for similar reasons. If they asked for an email one month prior to expiration, I’d do that.

Yes, she got that, 3 days next week. The plan is to go to the appointments and work through the process. The embassy appointment is released for the next person.

Another question, what becomes of any payments? Those with the 8 week wait, is more $$ required, or do we operate on the original medical exam payment? Thanks.
