  1. Hello, I went through a similar situation except I did not have an affair, given the time frame of your relationship I think you'll be ok. If your partner does decide to make a complaint you'll need an attorney for sure, provide a bunch of photos as well as affidavits from friends/families/work colleagues etc to help prove your marriage was legitimate, which in my eyes it sounds like It was genuine. Being from the UK I have some sympathy as it can be quite scary being by yourself and giving everything up.
  2. Hello all, As promised I am updating you all, I just got off the meeting my attorney and he has been doing this for 25 years and is not even remotely concerned about my situation, we will have to refile for my I-751 once the divorce has taken place and we will file with a waiver. We have enough evidence and even my drivers license is enough plus car insurance with her being on mine too. Basically I have nothing to worry about and We've passed the 3 year mark too which makes it even more legit in USCIS eyes, for reasons of wanting to have Children provides a legitimate case. Once we refile my I-751 I'll have another extension and any issues my attorney will be notified etc. Thank you to all who chipped in with everything. You're amazing.
  3. Hi there, I am so sorry yes, I got married in the UK in 2019, that is my mistake. Sorry about that.
  4. Thank you all for your input! It's greatly appreciated, honestly. I have our 1099 joint filings, and our health insurance cards, she is a joint holder on my UK bank account. Oh, and I have around 900 photo's dating back from 2015/2023. I'm sure I can ask the father-in-law to sign an affidavit before all of the chaos ensues. Once I find out my rights on Thursday my plan is to start moving some of my stuff into a storage unit that I have, the wife generally complains about all of the car stuff and tools so, I figured that'd be a place to start storing stuff before we split and I find an apartment in Orlando. It genuinely does hurt after 8 years knowing that we both want different things, I.E I want kids, she does not. She wants to move back to Europe, I do not. But, also how the attitude has changed drastically. Also very scary not knowing what can happen to me as In these nearly 3 years I personally have accomplished a lot... It would be a shame to see that all go to waste. But, from knowing my wife's personality I believe that she would still continue to assist me with the GC as she isn't a bad person or malicious like that, unless I started dating someone else prior to the completion... we just want different things. Once again, thank you. I'll definitely update this come Thursday.
  5. OldUser, thank you so much. You've made me feel a lot better, and I'll have more answers next week. I just wasn't sure about things. But the ID's the tax transcripts, the UK bank account and 8 years worth of evidence.
  6. She is on my UK bank account, but I'm sure this will not be useful?
  7. I have joint tax return transcripts as we filed jointly, we don't have a joint bank account and I do have ID's with matching addresses. We live with her parents, which was something I haven't been keen on.
  8. The divorce hasn't even been discussed as of right now, I do know that this is something that will need to be discussed once I move out.
  9. Well, I really appreciate the fast response. I'm not sure if she would support or Cooperate, but I think she might. It's something I'd have to discuss with her prior to moving. But, I have 8 years of photos/videos and we recently went on a cruise together to Hawaii. I have the documents and everything we submitted with the I-751 and more photos. It's just a shame things have turned out the way they have.
  10. Hi there, I just wanted to reach out and see whether anyone can shed some light on what will probably happen... my wife and I filed my I-751 forms last December. (I arrived in February 2021) Since then, things have taken a turn for the worse and we both want different things in life. Now, we have been together for nearly 8 years and got married in the UK in 2018. We've been around the world together and I have no harsh feelings towards her or anything, we've just grown apart these last months and it's a life changing decision which was made that was never discussed as a couple. I just wanted to reach out and see whether anyone else has been in a similar situation, or has some understanding? I'm speaking with an Immigration lawyer next week to hopefully give me the answers I would love, but I'm a bit of a realist and know that things may just be extremely complicated. I would be planning on moving out of the house and updating my address (I know a new form would be required) etc. I'm just curious to know what my chances are of still being issued my 10 year card, Of course I'd try to apply for Citizenship after I receive mine. Thanks and I appreciate any response, even if it may not be what I want to hear.
