  1. paul sent back packet 3 to London, and I was wondering how we would find out the interview date, by mail? or is there a quicker way because i'm so impatient! lol A special number is site to sign up to? After getting the NOA2 I didn't know how to track it :P

Just thought I'd help ya out... London is on a roll right now getting interview dates and packet 4s out. My fiance's medical is the same day as yours.. We sent back packet 4 on April 3rd and on April 8th I called the Department of State and we were already assigned an interview date for May 2nd. the London Embassy doesn't reply to Emails without an email code and also calling the Embassy costs tons a minute.

so to check on your progress here on out call or have your fiance call the DOS .. 202-663-1225 alls you need is your case number

  2. It took me 2 weeks to collect everything but thats cause we didn't have packet 3 yet so i had sometime. Once packet 3 came My fiance sent it back right away even tho I didn't have everything for him... but he already had his police certificate, and birth certificate. So I was putting together the Relationship Evidence and the Sponsor... I sent him

    Letter from Employer

    3 Months Bank Statements

    2 Months Pay stubs

    3 years tax returns

and the I-134 of course.. notarized.

  3. Thanks everyone,

Anyone have an example I could see as to how it is written.

    Thank you

"Basically, your employer letter should state "To whom it may concern: (first name, last name) has been employed

full-time with the XYZ Company since 200_ as a (name of your job), and is an employee in good standing with an

annual salary of $XXXX. Signed, John Doe, Supervisor (or whatever title)" The letter should be on company

    letterhead."

  4. it says so many times not to buy a plane ticket. but I seem to think that having a travel date gets you a quicker interview date. is this true? and do they frown on already bought plane tickets? We just got packet 3 and are sending it back tomorrow an am debating weather or not to put a anticipated travel date in.

  5. We use skype. We talk every night for at least 2 hours then sleep "together" with our headsets and sometimes webcams on. then we wake together in my morning his afternoon unless he has to work then i get him up my middle of the night and his morning. we talk throughout the day with AIM and texts. then usually saturdays are spent entirely together watching football games together. before we met in person we would actually be on headset 24/7 the only time we werent on headset was when we were both taking showers. we fell head over heels in love :)

  6. Hey guys, firstly I just like to say to our amazement we recieved our noa2 less then a month after filing our i129f, which by the sounds of it is awesome. So anyone about to post go via vermont as they seem astonishingly quick at present.

We received our NOA2 on the 8th of march(we only posted our i129f on 14th feb). I'd just like to know if anyone can tell me how we know if the US embassy(in london) have recieved our information and how close we are to getting package 3. Will this simply come up on the uscis updates because as yet this still just says NOA2 approved and I would have thought they would have sent it on by now. We have received the letter from the NVC stating they have recieved it.

Sorry if any of these questions sound stupid but I guess like most people on here they are doing this alone and rely on the support and knowledge of you guys.

    Thanks guys

You can call the NVC and see if they got your petition. I called yesterday about mine... and they're very very nice and helpful people. Congrats!

  7. I know I've come here to ask about getting a license once my fiance gets to the US and I just thought I'd help everyone out and tell everyone what I found out.. My fiance is from the UK and has a valid UK license and every visit he's come here he's drove my parents cars and he was covered under my parents insurance but I know that once he has a visa its different.

First off you have to get a International Driving Permit. They cost about $10 well in the Uk at least and can be gotten at most post offices. and they're good for a year. I believe you can get car insurance with the Permit if you want to get your own car. But I am pretty sure you'll be covered on others car insurance just so you have permission to drive the car.

I wouldn't hold off getting a US license. But this IDP will let you drive up until the day you get your US license then once you have your US license you have to get car insurance. keep in mind you will get the highest rate because they cant check your previous years of driving. Once you have your SSN you can get your license.

  8. thanks alot...

just one more question do I need the the 35 pound one from the ACPO or the 10 pound statement from the local police station...

"In order to obtain the required statement, you should apply to your local police station, where you will be given the application forms. When completing the application form, the applicable category is "prosecution/conviction history". There is a fee of £10 sterling."

  9. Shocked isn't the word for it... I just got my NOA2 after only a month. We're really weren't ready for it so I'm freaking out a bit. I don't have an income and never did. so i am going to have to use my dad as a co-sponsor .. first off since I am an dependent of my father does he have to make more so he can show he can support the 3 of us? Also how long do we have to live with the co-sponsor? can we change me to the sponsor once I get a full time job that pays enough? I am just getting my life in order. I was love struck and spent all my time and parents money on being with my fiance so now since the petition was approved so fast it caught me off guard. I am soo scared of this process. I just need some advise to make the NOA2 be more of a happy time then a scary time... Does this mean he should have his visa within 4 months? or am i jumping to conclusions?

    thanks alot

  10. I've been on this site so many times reading and researching every step of the I-129F/K-1 Visa and every time it ends with me just getting stressed and not knowing much more then when I started so I figured I'd try asking some questions on here.

    1. I haven't ever had a job so I haven't filed any taxes and up until 2007 I was filed as a dependent on my parents taxes. I don't have a job at the minute and am currently looking for work. I am confused about the co-sponsor... Will we have to live with the co-sponsor and if so for how long? is there a way to change sponsors if we do want to move out and I can support my fiance?

    2. are there any restrictions on visits while the I-129F is being processed?

    3. How long after marriage does it take before being able to leave the US?

    4. How long until my fiance can get a drivers license?

Also I don't know much about the Green Card and citizenship. so any advise or explanation would be much appreciated.

    Thanks so much.
