  1. Thanks, you guys! :luv:

Deb - Is Casey a timneh or congo? :) Baby's 10 now! I got her as a little hatchling. She's spoiled like crazy and this was definitely not her first trip to Animal 911. One year on Christmas Eve of all days, she cut her tongue and I never found out on what. A few years ago she had a mass lump taken out of her chest. And she managed to ingest some kind of metal (still dont know what it was...but I blame my ex for his carelessness with his armor/costume making supplies scattered everywhere) and was hospitalized for almost 2 weeks. It was horrible! This trip has costed me $500...so far

Terrie and Annie - my ex had a double yellow headed amazon. He (the bird....well maybe the ex too :P ) HATED me! I was the "other woman" and this bird really had it in for me. haha.

HAPPY MONDAY MENA! Hope all is doing well. We mailed our AOS packet over the weekend.... wish us luck and no RFE.

Sorry to hear about the bird Carmen, hope she gets well soon.

good luck with the AOS! :star:

    Thank you Carmen!!!

Good luck Shawna!! We just got an email Friday stating that my husband will be sent his welcome letter.

    Thank you and Congratulations!!!!!!

  2. MORNING LADIES! Happy Wednesday to you all. 2 more days before the weekend. Ahmed and I are sending off our AOS Packet on Saturday! Very happy to have that part of the journey complete.

Hope you all have a great day!

Hi Shawna, Good luck with the AOS - wishing you a speedy process!!!

Thank you soo much! I am hoping it goes smoothly. :)

  3. Blessings Whidbeygirl!

Welcome to VJ and I must echo the previous responses. WE ALL have had to take this journey and some are still going through it. You will find support here. We understand your feelings. Feel free to vent and ask questions and anyone of us will try our best to answer your questions as best we can.

Everyone's process is different so you may see some who took over 1 year to get approvals and some who are less than 9 months. I started in January and my husband was here at the end of August. The biggest thing is being prepared and having all of the documentation necessary to make your journey smooth.

Stay focused and pray. We are here for you.

    Shawna

  4. Good Morning ALL. Happy Thursday. I thought I was the only one dealing with the hubby "TRYING" to cook and leaving a big ole mess. It's cute and really sweet that he tries to cook but he leaves the biggest mess ever.

He tried to make some Hisbiscus tea the other night and he took HOTTTTT tea and tried to put it into a plastic container that instantly melted upon contact of the hot tea. He then tried to cover up the fact that he melted a container by throwing it in the garbage to hide the evidence. BUT since he is not the greatest cleaner in the world, I came to home to red stains on my countertop and him with puppy dog eyes trying to explain. Gotta love him but I did scream.....

    STAY OUTTA MY KITCHEN! LOL

  5. Good Morning, Happy Hump Day!

Starting to think I need to send cookies or something to Cairo to make them get done with this already!!! Having moments of frustration this week, alot of them.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I suggest my nummy sour cream pound cake with orange glaze. It creates nummy feelings in their brains and makes them want to do all kinds of nice things for others.

Morning everyone. Happy Hump Day to you all. I am praying for approvals for everyone waiting. I had to put off filing for Ahmed's AOS for 1 week because he needed 3 additional shots that Dr. Maher in Alexandria failed to tell us about.

Hopefully we will file by next weekend.

Make today a Great Day guys!

Argh. Doesnt that just frost your cookies? Maroc doesnt give the chicken pox shot and we didnt know it was needed for AOS. It took USCIS a year to finally tell us they just needed Ahmed's stupid chicken pox vacc.

By the by, HLM, wherever you are dearie, I added another Mehdi/Ayman pic to my siggy at your request. Enjoy :)

We just had to do the same thing this past week!! Only we didn't know at all, immigration lost our physical from February so we had to restart everything....man oh man it was expensive and we only had 3 weeks to completed it :crying: Chick pox shot was a killer in the pocket!!!

Yeah I am pretty pissed off about it. It was Tetaus, MMR and this new one Varisella WHICH is 2 doses! The Tetanus and MMR should have been completed in Egypt! Now we have to go get them and faxed the info over to Dr. Arnold in TX who is transcribing the Vaccination portion of the I-693 Because in Chicago, no one wanted to do the shots only, they wanted us to complete the Entire physical again for about $300. UHHH YEAH RIGHT! :)

  7. Hey Guys!!

I sorry I am late. LOL I am Shawna and my husband is Ahmed. He is from Alexandria Egypt. He has been in Chicago with me 3 weeks. I must say I am sooo happy to have him here with me. He is adjusting well but doesn't like the fact that he is not working. We will be filing his AOS next week so wish us luck. We will be celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary in November (taking a trip to NYC) that should be fun.

VJ has been wonderful and I have met some very nice sisters here who have offered encouraging words. I hope that we all stay strong and not allow negative people or comments on VJ to interfere with what our true focus is and that is bringing our loved ones to the U.S. to be with us. Let's uplift each other.
