  1. I have a few questions about the medical exams that are done for the consulate in Egypt. I hope someone can help us. :)

Thank you in advance for all your help!!!

1.) When do we have to go to the medical exam? How long does it take before my fiance can go get one done?

2.) What exactly do they test you for in a medical exam?

3.) Is it painful? Are there a lot of needles?

4.) How long do the results take? Do we find out the same day if he passed?

5.) Do we have to send the results to the embassy or do we just take them with us to the interview?

6.) How much does it cost?

7.) Do we have to wait for packet 3 before doing anything?

If Packet 3 is on the way to you, you can have the medical done now. My husband used Dr. Amr Maher. He is in Gleem. They usually tell you to call and make an appointment but most of the time the phone line is busy so we just showed up around 4pm. He will give a basic exam, checking eyes, ears, heart. He will also check to make sure that your shots are up to date. If you have not had all of your vaccines, then you will be required to have those shots before he will sign off on it. Don't know how much that costs because Ahmed was fine. Then he will refer you to have a chest x-ray done and also blood work to check for HIV and any other Sexually transmitted diseases. 2 separate locations. The chest xray can usually be picked up within 1 day and the blood work within 2 days. You go back get the results and take them BACK to Dr. Maher. He will review everything and give you the information in a Sealed envelope. You will include this envelope in your packet 3 that you send back to the consulate. He will tell you if everything is ok when you take all the results back to him. I really can't remember all the cost. I think the exam with Dr. Maher was about 100 LE. THe chest xray may have been about 70-80 LE and the blood work about 100 LE. This was last year.

    Hope this helps.

I'm going to use the dame Dr next week inshaallah and i hope that everything will work out good .

It seems a lot of people have used Dr. Maher. He definitely gets you in and out.

  3. I could NOT agree more. Glad someone else said it. I was just looking at when this poster signed up and was thinking..... WHY would you come on and say something like this in the first place. We are here for moral support, not to be knocked down with negative comments from someone we don't know. Mind you I don't know quite a few people myself LOL But I have sat back and read comments from others who have given moral support. Why even sign up for VJ if that would be your first post? Doesn't make sense to me.

  4. I would like to find honest women that have been used by men for the green card and

tell their story so others in visa process can learn and maybe think about it twice before they let a total stranger

come into their life's and ruin it.

Do you think there will be something common in these relationships so these stories would benefit others?

You don;t know a person unless you live with them for a while and see how they act.

This is true. Unfortunately, circumstances don't always allow people to live together first. Add religion into the equation and "living together" is completely out.

Please don;t jump into something u don;t know.

What more do you think someone should know?

It all turns out to be a fake sooner or later.

    I disagree.

I have 3 friends who married arabic men and were married for years until they got their education , then they left

them without a word even tho they seemed to be happy.

Do you know any other friends who married "arabic" (which is a language, by the way) men and weren't used for a green card?

    I do.

They never heard of them again .

Never. Not even for the divorce papers.

Don;t fool yourself , be careful and don;t get hurt in the end!

    How is someone fooling themself?

By believing all the niece things they say ..........we all need to be loved and want to be loved ......we r impatient and lonly and we go on line to find love instead of going to social events or friend.... they promise us the skies and we want it to be true but deep in our hearts we know they r lying to us ,tho we hope for better and in the end its all fake .

Eeven those who are happy now.......it will come to u too .

they always end up with their own women because we don;t obey their rules .

Face it women ........we r independent and they need dependent women ....one that does as they say.

I RARELY comment but I felt the need to say something here. YES we want to be loved But I TOTALLY disagree that all women are impatient and lonely and not capable of making sound decisions. I am 35 years old and at my age, I know perfectly well when someone is telling me what I want to here and blowing smoke up my A@@. I personally did not meet my husband online so I wouldn't be able to comment on that experience. But men can pick up on insecurities via computer or face to face and if some of these women are PRESENTING themselves in a manner that appears desperate, sometimes men will prey on that. We do have indications of when things are not going well and if a woman chooses to stay in a situation that she knows is bad, That would be HER fault. Not every man is out for a Green Card, there are men out here who do love their wives. I am an independent woman and I have no problem in my marriage. There are no "RULES" to obey. We are adults and should be able to communicate our needs to our mates... Likes and dislikes. You respect one another and give each other common courtesy and honor your vows. Sorry if someone you know was hurt by someone from a MENA Country but to say that WE ARE ALL going to be hurt later down the road is a HUGE generalization.

  5. Yes, we got an email on January 20th saying that they had ordered production of my husband's card on the 19th and then we got another email on January 28th saying the same thing. His card actually came on around the 27th or 28th of January. So it was a little over a week. We were also nervous because we didn't know which date would be the correct one. We haven't recvd another card.

  6. Congratulations HG!!

My husband submitted the original I-134 form in his packet 3 along with copies of my taxes and a letter from my employer stating my salary and how long I had been employed with my company. He did take a copy to his interview just to be on the safe side, but they never asked for anything because they had it all when we sent the packet back.

I don't know if its any different for K1 because we were K3 BUT it was all through the Cairo Embassy.

    Hope this helps.

  7. I Might not be able to make it. I mixed up the dates for a dinner party with the meet up date. They are both the same day. :-( I am trying to work it so I can attend both, but I don't know at this point. I am really bummed because I wanted to meet you guys.

  8. AMEN!!! AMEN!!!! Ganja Girl! I am Soooo happy and overwhelmed with emotion right now. I am sorry for those who think that OBAMA will fail. WE WILL CHANGE. I don't normally post for anything political on this site because I see and read all of the negativity on here. But I AM from Chicago and I LIVE a few blocks from PRESIDENT OBAMA'S home, so I will say we are very happy and can't wait for JANUARY 20th. I know I will be in Washington D.C. Someone made a very racist comment some time ago to the effect of no "Kool Aid" in the White House..... Well Sorry For YA! Make mine Strawberry.
