    I think your green card appointment or receipt will come very soon. I noticed those with a i765, either they have auto approvals or interview much faster than those who didn't apply for i765. I didn't apply as I wanted the green card and apply to jobs. I applied in Aug, my son in Sep, we had our interview 1 Apr and approval 2 Apr. Green card came in the mail the following week. The k2 teen, are u referring to your teen that traveled w you on k1?

    Didn't need the marriage certificate as copies were sent during the application of i485. Officer didn't ask for any other proof as he could tell that we were genuine. He asked questions like that was the last place we ate out and last movie watched. Both we forgotten.

    No we didn't. Myself, husband and my son were all in the room together. There were some questions repeated to us and some changed as I filled up incorrectly on the i485 and made aware and electronically signed. All 3 of us were asked different questions at different times.

    Jus back from interview. The officer was happy with our docs. He hinted that they were in order but didn't offer a straight approval. We messed up question and answers for silly questions like when was the last time we ate out. And last movie watched and what was it about. Mickey 17 was very difficult for me to answer for a sci fi plot line. Fingers crossed now.

    Congrats!! Great news! Fingers crossed for me as I'm nervous and my husband has no reaction and say I'm overreacting.

    Hi there, hope it went well? Myheart dropped when I read your messages as I m in a similar pickle. I have no SSN and cannot apply for drivers license, bank, car insurance, car ownership. The house is owned by my husband before marriage and the mortgage rates changes if you add a name?

    Hi I've received a courtesy email from USCIS for my interview prep for i485, to bring originals eg. Birth certificate, marriage certificate etc. The other many items to prep are meant for i130 filers. Are there other things to prepare? My husband and k2 child will be at the interview as well. Ive searched online and advice was to recap time-line of our relationship.

    Thanks so much! Totally agree on your points! I m not on any bills or banks as he paid for everything and I requested for SSN on the i485 form. I plan to arrange for more evidence linking to him helping to pay for my child(health insurance etc) and being the second emergency contact. By any chance do you know if they ask for 'certified true copy' of marriage certificate, does the original work? Or do I have to reprint another one for them to retain? Your timeline is so similar to mine! Hope u get an email from them on an interview soon. Hv a nice weekend!

    Received the letter that my interview w son is on 1 Apr. Anyone else received this notice? Status was changed from final decision stage to interview scheduled. There's a list of things to prepare, I did my medical checkup in Singapore I don't thing I will prepare for another one. 'Certified marriage certificate' requested but I have the original? Will try to gather more paperwork requested but I'm not on the owned property or banks or bills( I have no SSN) and he's pays for everything for me and my son. My husband relies on what I request as he doesn't like paperwork.

    Was the rfe letter sent before they schedule an interview with you? I have an interview date received yesterday and I'm asking my husband to include me on bills etc. The issue is that I have no SSN as I didn't apply for i765 and cannot open a joint account or even apply for a drivers license. Thanks for sharing now I'm freaking out a little 🙃

    If your relationship is stable, pls choose marriage visa. I did k1 and the lead time, costs, adjustments requires alot of patience. Can't work, can't get bank account, can't travel etc.

    Hi I didn't apply for SSN when I arrived in June 24. Applied for I485 in August and completed biometrics in Oct. No SSN till date. I enquired with uscis, SS and irs, seems like I can't get any no. Till the green card is approved.

    Thanks for your kind reply, I sent in 1 package w the mentioning of k2 details n i485 and i864 with both our photographs. I guess will head down to the office next week to ask them in person. Hope they don't mark k2 down as overstay visa as the 3 month mark is end of Sept.

    Hi guys I entered the US via k1(myself) k2(14 yo child). Everything was smooth and I submitted I485 for adjustment and to allow charges of $1140x2 to be charged on credit card for the both of us. However, we were charged only once. letters and appointment received were only addressed to myself. Was wondering if we messed up the application for k2 child? Or that the k1 applicant needs to be approved before the k2? My biometric appointment is next week, received the letter in the mail this evening. No mention about interview for the k2 child. Thanks in advanced!

    Jus a quick followup. There was a backlog of cases for approval and I had my interview mid March after personally emailing the embassy and a lucky slot was available. My 129f expired, but I emailed the embassy to ask and they said it's ok as there are no avail interview slots. Medical done 31 Jan, date to travel to the US by 31 Jul. Thanks once again!

    Be prepared to show return ticket. Show ties to Canada if possible. And better to use the term boyfriend and girlfriend if k1 isn't applied yet. Be sure to show touristy plans and definitely no working. If u want to apply k1 it's OK too, I was traveling w my son when k1 was pending, pulled to a side to explain. I didn't like it but I had return tickets, property and full time job back home. We also only visited for 2 weeks for Thanksgiving. Good luck!

    Hi there I seen some posts on K1 that the 6 month date of entry into the US is based on the date of medical exam. Wanted to stay for my work bonus in May/Junr and the approval is estimate is getting earlier. Estimated date is now 16 Nov 23. Qn: How long are we given to prepare the required docs stated in the letter and attend the medical exam? Is 1.5 months reasonable? Or does the letter state a specific deadline? Thanks so much! S
