Did my oath ceremony in Boston today, right in Faneuil Hall, the birthplace of the Revolution. It took about 3 hours all in, we all got US flags to wave. The judge called out everyone's country, amazing to hear where people were from. We did the pledge and then got our certificates. I had mine in my hand for 30 minutes and went right to the post office to apply for my passport. Thanks to the VJ community , you guys have been a great resource for my immigration questions. Good luck for those still waiting!!

Greetings from Boston! I had my interview this morning, and was approved..this is what happened:

We arrived 10 minutes before (my appointment was at 7.30am) and we sat in the waiting room for about an hour before I was called in. The IO had the entirety of every single form I'd submitted throughout the years, a good couple of inches of paper! I had to raise my right hand and say I was going to tell the truth. He went through the N400 form and asked a couple of questions about the information there. He then asked me the civics questions and wrote down my answers, then I had to read out a sentence 'Which state has the most people?' and write 'California has the most people'. Then he went through some of the character questions, not really pausing after each one, but I answered no to each one, and yes to upholding the constitution.

Then I was given a sheet of paper saying I was approved and to go back into the waiting room. I waited for about 20 minutes and received a yellow letter with my oath date (May 10th) and a whole bunch of 'Welcome the the USA' paperwork. All done! My oath is in Faneuil Hall in Boston which is where America was born, so that's a nice touch (even if I am English lol).

I'm interviewing in Boston. Kind of annoyed I have to reproduce everything again, and photocopy it...does the government hate trees??

Got my interview letter today for April 12th, can somebody update me please? It's at 7.30am though..bleurgh

Also I got a checklist for documents (originals and copies) of pretty much everything I sent in..is this normal?

I just received an e-mail that I am in line for interview scheduling...how long did everyone wait until they received the actual letter?

Hello everyone! Sending in my packet today...can someone add me to the list please?

I sent it to the Dallas lockbox today (17th Jan)

So when travelling as a dual citizen (which I anticipate in the future), should I carry both passports with me? Do I show the UK one when I land in the UK and the US one when returning, or are you supposed to travel on one passport? What is the correct way to travel overseas?

Had my biometrics today in Boston, in and out in about 10 mins! One thing I would stress is bringing your green card as your ID, as they specifically asked for it.

Roll on speedy approvals for all!

I can't see mine online either, guess I'll try again in a couple of days?

I got the same reminder, to my original address..cue lots of panic as my old neighbour had picked it up until I got it. Once I realised what it was I was relieved! I changed my address online again with them using the original case number so now I have a confirmation number regarding the change. What a pain, I'm hoping they get the right address for the NOA to come...

It's been a while since I was here (almost 2 years in fact!), I'm coming up to the removal of conditions date and am starting to get my evidence together. We have plenty of financial stuff, joint tax returns, joint bank statements, life insurance with spouse as beneficiary, utility bills etc. What we don't have is anything 'big' like the house or the car as my credit was the one we used when purchasing these things (spouse in credit blackhole). The question is will this look a bit fishy, if we don't submit some evidence of living together with both names on the documents? Should I write something to that effect on the cover letter?

What about obtaining an ITIN if you can't get a SS card? These are government issued..not sure what they look like and if you could use it though...?

Take your greencard to the SSA and they should remove the restriction and issue you a new card.

I assume I would have to bring my green card? Anything else like a passport, birth certificate etc?

I have a social security card issued when I was on my temporary workers visa..now that I'm a permanent resident do I need to do anything with my SS card? It says valid for work only with DHS athourisation..does this mean anything now?

Any ideas?
