I know it’s messy since the medical panel sites in India seem to have different requirements for scheduling the medical appointment.
At a minimum, you will need the following:

    - DS-160 confirmation page

    - receipt of having paid fees for interview

    - doc confirming interview at consulate

    - passport and photos

    - email from NVC stating that your case is forwarded to Embassy. Also referred to as FTP letter.

For us, Mumbai is convenient for my fiancée for the medical exam. However, ReleClinic in Mumbai wants the letter from consulate (also called as P4 packet) that is sent to your fiancée in India. Having looked at others’ experiences in these forums, it’s is taking 3-4 weeks to receive this letter. For us, it’s too long of a wait. So we called ReleClinic and got lucky as we were told that the NVC email will suffice. Yes, it’s contradictory to what their website says, but, it’s a chance we are going to take.

Additionally, I see no reason why the consulate letter is needed. The US websites clearly say that a medical exam is needed for K1. Plus, every relevant detail in P4 is already present in the docs I mentioned above.

Don’t hesitate to call the different clinics and see what works for you.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you so much. Godsent. May all the best be your’s in the coming months.

I did not wait for the welcome letter from embassey, only max mohali and max mumbai ask for it to set up a medical appointment, so I scheduled at max Delhi and they did not ask for any welcome letter just FTP letter copy and appointment letter copy, I had scheduled interview myself after I recevied FTP letter. although I also received welcome letter 3 days before interview but no one asked for it at interview, I hope that helps, good luck to you,,

To clarify: Are you saying the only city we can get a medical exam in is  Delhi because they don’t send a letter?

  3. Looking for any guidance on Mumbai embassy:

. Our case has arrived at embassy.

we need welcome letter (packet 4??) from embassy prior to scheduling/attending medical.

Can’t get embassy via phone so far.

we can’t log in to register an address in ceac till we do ds160.

-is letter needed for medical exam coming to petitioner or beneficiary?  Do we need to do ds160 to get address for them to send the letter?

should we wait for letter to do ds160?

I keep finding divergent suggestions for how to proceed. Some are on this site, 2 are from embassy prescribing different order of actions without any sort of clarification.

  4. Further confused. Thanks again for everything. I wonder if it’s just the Mumbai embassy. Our case has arrived at embassy.

You'll need it for the interview (the beneficiary needs to present it on the interview along with the other documents required). Nothing is submitted to NVC for K1.
I am waiting to fill out the I-134 because the form will expire on July 31st. I want to take the new version seeing my interview won't be before this date.

So I never submit to USCIS, she just takes it to the interview?

It's crazy to me they just tell you it's inside normal processing times when June filers are getting approved in less than a year. We know it's not in order, but wow, you filed 6 months before. The 30 days for a tier 2 agent seems like the norm. I'm sorry about it, I can't wait to see you approved! Yes, keep bugging them! Even if it's just for your own stress relief.

I tried the it’s clearly not in normal processing time line. I just can’t go too hard at teir one folk. They probably in a call center somewhere making wages and being told to never escalate calls. Man that would be an awful job.

I keep coming back here to see if you got your approval since you're the earliest case I know still waiting. I am so sorry, it's infuriating. Even more infuriating when USCIS says your case is processing normally and you can only make in inquiry next month. I also felt the same way as you and now I even feel ashamed complaining when so many other earlier filers are still waiting – it's heartbreaking seeing people complain about NVC waiting and it's hard to see people that filed with you with interviews scheduled or visa issued.

I only heard of WOM being used for people stuck in AP for months, whose medicals even expired (there's a famous thread here for Montreal). I am not sure of anyone using it for NOA2s, as it's pretty expensive. Forgive me if it's a stupid question: did you try reaching out to your congress representative? Or calling USCIS, saying "info pass" and trying to speak with a tier 2 agent? It's ok to assume it's not worth it as they will say you're within normal processing, but I would start bothering them every day until your case is touched. You shouldn't be the one spending 5k so they can do their jobs (even though I understand this is the last resort for many people, and a completely unfair and infuriating one).

On a more hopeful note, there were 38 approvals for December cases in the last 7 days and 85 still as "case received". I'm hoping you can hear something this week.

I just took your advice. Gonna keep calling and mention casually writ of mandamus every time I call. Man if there was a real class action… changing the processing times on people so they can’t enquirer feels like a case but goverment punch punch. Tried my congressman. Asked if it was outside processing time then disinterest. Where I live is a red state so immigration isn’t exactly popular thank you for the kind words. Being heard was a gift.

Just like you said.. keep calling and calling and calling.. ( and here is my proof when i did it ) it can be done @Aesop23

  8. This is madness. Still no noa2   Looking at writ of mandamus 5-10 grand for justice. I make a living wage but an extra 10g on top of wedding flights all that and they more than double green card application. Mind blown. Mind blown. Just venting I just don’t get it. 90 days at NVC would be a dream come true. Anything. If they deny at this point…I don’t even know. Move to another country I guess. For what it would cost all together could probably live in India for a couple years waiting on the spouse visa.

The toll on the one we love is the killer. What do you even say when 6 months turns into years. Issue of justice. So sorry for others caught in this hell. Any movement is a gift so jealous.

Have an update on the "Dark NVC" for you ....

Yester day (day 49 post NOA2), I received an inquiry reply saying they didn't have the case and were asking USCIS to locate it (many on facebook have posted the same, just a second version of form letter) ... It did suggest I could call USCIS, so I did.

After much effort, I was able to get to a live person who tacked down the case in their system.  The result?  Case is still at USCIS-California office, has not been released to NVC, no scheduled date when it will actually go out.   So the "Dark NVC" is in many cases, USCIS just delaying cases further (at least for me and a number of people I know on Facebook)

Are you guys done with weekly updates? I know there’s probably not much left to see. Just tryin to keep those candles burnin. Water in the desert.
