  1. Transit from where to where? USCIS to NVC, or NVC to consulate? What kind of case is this? Please fill out the timeline on your profile and give a few more details and then hopefully somebody can help.
  2. Average cost of giving birth in the US would be far higher than visa costs though (https://www.forbes.com/advisor/health-insurance/how-much-does-it-cost-to-have-a-baby/), and if there were any complications that cost could skyrocket. If the OP has the financial means to do that then that would be a neat solution, but it doesn’t sound as though that is the case.
  3. And just to add that if you don’t get your physical GC before June, it’s easy to get an ADIT stamp - which is basically the same as you’ve got now in your passport but just extends it for another year. It’s free and they usually just mail it to you. Good luck.
  4. What age is permission no longer needed? If the OP’s youngest is 15 now then they could be 18 by the time they get a visa, or close to it (and could then delay things a bit if needed). Or is permission still needed up to 21?
  5. Interestingly, I’ve just gone to check the backlog report and can’t find it. I know that they have been making good progress and the backlog recently reduced for the first time in a decade (it had been steadily growing up to that point). Most think that the backlog will grow with the new administration so I wonder if they’ve got rid of it for that reason, or perhaps they’ve just moved it from the usual page. Who knows!
  6. Unemployment is very low in the US at the moment, but none of that is relevant anyway. It’s simply that demand outweighs supply, there are just a huge number of people in the queue ahead of you - https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/Immigrant-Statistics/Immigrant Visa Control System_operation of.pdf
  7. Ah. Yes, you do need original/certified copy docs for some things, although it’s DCF it’ll be the same document requirements as usual - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html And in the meantime, if you haven’t already do start gathering the rest of the docs i.e. police certs etc. Best of luck.
  8. If she’s graduating next year and you haven’t even started the process yet, then that is unlikely to be an issue - as said above the whole process takes 2 years as a (very) rough guide.
  9. Montréal is the only consulate in Canada that does immigrant visas. Is the address your own or a friend/relatives? If it’s your own then it will help.
  10. Those don’t show domicile, plenty of people have US bank accounts or relatives there but never set foot in the US. So you’ll need more than that, but have a hunt around the Canada sub forum for info on how to prove domicile to Montreals satisfaction. Best of luck.
  11. I meant your VJ timeline. https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=472968 The sheet is fine, but nowhere near as useful as the VJ profile timeline which has more info and can then be used by everybody else too, not just participants in this thread. Oh, and I’m not a ‘Sir’. 😂
  12. https://www.foia.gov/faq.html How did you become a USC? Any criminal record for either of you?
  13. And just to confirm you’re a US citizen and have been throughout the process - you weren’t a green card holder when you first applied? Did USCIS say why your case is ‘very complicated’? Might be worth doing a FOIA request to try and find out what’s been going on in the background that you’re not aware of.
  14. Agree with this - but please do also fill in your own timeline as well! We all need to ‘pay it forward’ and complete our timelines to help all of the other EB applicants that follow behind us. The more data we have, the most useful VJ becomes. Thanks.
  15. You need to chase it up then, published processing times for your office are 8 months so you’re well outside of that. https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt Good luck.
  16. Ah, ok so it doesn’t sound as though you’ve paid the GC fees. Once you’ve paid them, then the GC’s should be with you within 90 days, but you can track it using the receipt number (starting with IOE). They’re usually delivered within about 6 weeks. Good luck.
  17. I understand that, but it doesn’t make any difference. The GC fee can only be paid online after the visa is received - see the link above. It’s $235, so check to see if you’ve paid it but if not then follow the payment link to do so.
  18. What fees did she pay? She wouldn’t have paid the GC fee at the consulate, it’s paid online after you receive the visa. https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees/uscis-immigrant-fee
  19. She can fly however she likes. If there is pre-clearance immigration (i.e. she was changing planes in Dublin) then make sure you allow longer for her to go through the process there, otherwise she’ll go through it when she arrives in the US. Please complete your VJ timeline to pay it forward and help others that follow on, thanks.
  20. Don’t forget that your consulate also has US holidays - so they’ll have been closed on 9th Jan for example. Not sure what Xmas/NY holidays you get in Oz, but for my consulate it’s only been 12 business days since the 20th Dec.
  21. I’ve not seen any that quick, are those Singapore specific? I just skimmed a couple of recent posts and they were about a week before hearing back so hopefully it won’t be too much longer for you. Good luck.
  22. You’ve not answered a couple of the questions, it’s really hard to help you without full details. Where were you born and what does your case status say? If you were born in the UK then your PD wasn’t current until 1st January, so no visa was available to you until then and it hasn’t been anywhere near 60 days. Please fill in your timeline on your profile, thx.
  23. Remember that 9th was a holiday, so it’s really only been 3 working days since you sent everything. I’d just give it more time.
  24. There’s an official step by step guide here - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition.html Also, there’s a great resource on this forum, check the Guides section at the top of this page. Good luck.
