Hi All
I am working on my N400 application this weekend, as well as gathering evidence. On the document checklist, it notes that you need
"documents referring to you and your spouse:
A. Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children"
Can I just send in our tax returns from the past 3 years, and that's enough? Or do you advise that I send in all of the above (well except birth certificate, since no kids!)
Thanks!!

Got the card today So happy the immigration journey is over!!

Congratulations shtutka and JillA! I still haven't heard anything yet. JillA, did you get an e-mail and was your online status updated? Or did you just get the letter?
Thanks for asking, I forgot to mention that in all of my excitement! I actually checked my online case status last night - nothing is updated since Jan. 11! And I also did not get an e-mail.
-
I also got my letter of approval today, wahoooo!! Dated 7/28/2011!! I'm so happy!! Will update when I receive the card....

out of curiosity, did you try and contact USCIS and tell them that you are beyond 6 months wait time?
what was their excuse, and how did they brush you off in case you contact them?
Not yet, I was thinking of giving it a few more weeks and then calling... I know how busy and backed up VSC is so I was trying to be a bit more patient before calling... but I will soon if I don't hear anything!!
-
I wonder if the folks in the middle of the list are really still waiting, or if they just haven't posted?
I'm still waiting
-
It's over 6 months now for me since I applied... I just want to be approved!! So, so tired of waiting
-
Very interesting! That makes more sense now why I've been waiting 6 months now for my approval

I used my extension letter yesterday to get back into the US from Canada, I don't think the customs agent had seen one before. He read it very carefully then asked why it was addressed to J.last name, instead of Jill.last name. I don't know, I didn't write the letter!? Anyway he let me through with no issues...

I gave a copy to my employer to be proactive, they didn't ask but it's better to be safe than sorry. It's best if they have your immigration status info up to date.

is it me or the VSC is taking FOREVER to process applications???
over 50% for the CSC over 6% to VSC?? wow
Yes, Vermont sucks!

Same thing happened to me; the EAC on the NOA was different than the # on the Bio appointment notice. The NOA # didn't work, but the one on the Bio appointment did...Guess that's not too helpful tho You could always call USCIS...
Thanks, that helped, I was using the EAC # from my NOA not my bio. So I was able to check on my status with my bio EAC #, and now the thing confusing me is it says instead of a I-751 that my application is:
On January 7, 2011, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED
-
You can only look up your case status when you get your bio notice. I think it says that somewhere on the NOA?
I already had my bio appt, so I was hoping it would show up by now.
-
I am trying to check my case status online, and it says:
Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
* Customer Portfolio Insert Failed
* Attempting to add a case that does not exist. Check the application receipt number.
I am entering the receipt number from my I-797C, Notice of Action. The "EAC" number, isn't that correct? Why can't they find me

I had my bio appt today in Philadelphia, it went very smoothly
-
Received my biometrics appt today, it's on Feb. 14th!!
-
I am happy, received my NOA1 today, dated 1/7/11. Please update me on the list, now I look forward to my biometrics notice!!
-
My check got cashed, I was never so excited to see a check cashed before!!
-
My package was signed for today, yippee!

Another January filer.. or will be lol.. planning to file either tomorrow or the day after
@JillA 5 lbs??? What are you sending lol? I doubt I'll even get to 1lbs... kinda reluctant to send them too much lol
I took it to the post office today, it's 4LBS actually! I copied all of our mortgage paperwork, 2 years of income tax, copies of utility bills, lots of envelopes/letters/cards addressed to both of us.... The more the better I think, rather than not enough and getting an RFE!
-
I just closed up my envelope, it's so big weighs about 5 LBS! I will go to the post office tomorrow to mail it off.... I was eligible to mail it Jan. 1st.
-
Thanks all! I think the priority box is a good idea... even a large envelope may rip with the few pounds of paperwork I am sending in!
-
So I have finished putting my ROC package all together, just need to do my cover page.... It's so BIG though! I mean after I copied all our mortgage papers, joint bills, envelopes to show we live at the same address, etc. I don't think it will fit in an envelope to mail... Can I put it in a small box or is that crazy? Do I need to cut down the size somehow? I don't want to send TOO much but I feel like everything I am sending is what I need to send & don't really want to take anything out...
-
I am filing next week! Good luck to all
Just wanted to say so long & thanks!

I completely agree, having you and Nev as Canadian friends here has meant the world to me and helped me so much. Sometimes our get-togethers would literally be the only thing that kept me going that week or month. I can't wait to get together when I'm in Toronto, we can meet up at Timmy's
