  1. Sorry not sure about the I864 Kevinbui86, hubby did all that - I'm the beneficiary and did the ds 230.

He's bringing a copy of all his paperwork over later this month, so I've got it for the interview (heaven knows when that'll be)!

Trying very hard not to be stressed and to remember that we've got this far so quickly in comparison to many others. I'm trying to count my blessings and be positive - but it's not easy

  2. Hi everyone,

My AVR message says the same as Kevinbui86. " NVC has reviewed your documentation and found information missing or incomplete". They have mailed a letter on May 1st detailing which information is missing.

The I 864 arrived on 24th April, so I just assumed that message related to thatpackage. My DS 230 still hasn't arrived and I've been worried sick about that, as I sent it a week ago. However I got an email today from USPS that it left Portsmouth NH this morning, so should arrive on Monday at NVC. Looks like it got lost for a while.

So guys, could this be a false RFE? What exactly is that?

yea, its waiting for your DS-230 but the thing about mine is that last week, it stated that its waiting for the biographic forms. so thats pretty much the DS-230. now, it updated to this. so im really worry that its a real RFE

Mine was saying the same up until this morning.

Check out the NVC forum Kevinbui86. There's a couple of people who got the exact same message and it meant that NVC was just awaiting the DS 230. As your DS 230 has only just arrived, and mine is due to get there early next week, it could be the same situation. Lets hold on to that thought so we can get through the weekend.

Best wishes to everyone, and thanks for your support. I don't know how people cope without VJ!

  4. Yes I'm hoping for an interview in July.

Realistically I think June might be too optimistic as I've only just mailed the DS 230. I figure they might have processed that by middle of May if I'm lucky so I'm hoping for a July interview. Even August would be good. I'd like to be able to be with my SO by the end of September.

Just hoping and praying we don't get stuck at NVC!

    Good luck with your journey.

  5. Hi Guys,

I sent my DS 230 yesterday and was feeling so happy at finally getting it together and in the mail. Came home from the Post Office and found this thread whilst browsing. Now I think I may get an RFE for question 20.

DS-230 Question 20: List below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality.

Whichever way I read this I don't understand why they would give you a RFE for not listing your town/city of residence before you reached the age of 16, as it definitely says SINCE. Surely if they wanted that, they would have asked for all places you have lived for at least 6 months since birth???? However it appears from this thread that they do as Kotana has mentioned :crying: Hence I've had a restless nights sleep worrying that I've done the wrong thing.

My DS 230 packet is still in the mail system it will arrive next week at NVC. Would you advise printing off another DS 230 form with that question re-entered to include my residence before aged 16, together with a coversheet and letter of explanation, to try and avoid a future RFE?? Or should I just wait and see what happens? This process is making my hair turn grey!!

    Any advice gratefully received.

  6. Hi Whidbeygirl,

For the spreadsheet - my DS 230 is being mailed today. Great work with the spreadsheet as usual, I love checking it out to see how everyone is progressing. Fingers crossed none of us get RFE's. Just interested to know why the projection for me is way into 2010 to get my visa?? I'm hoping to be on the plane by the end of September

Best wishes to everyone and lets hope next week is the week that those NOA2's come for those still waiting.

  7. Whidbeygirl you are amazing to have gone to the trouble of updating the spreadsheet so soon after getting back.

I got back saturday morning from VA and am still getting over the jet lag today (overslept by 2 hours this morning and was late for work). Only thing that has been keeping me going is the NOA2!

Anyone been looking at the NVC process yet - it seems mind boggling

Also, has anyone got any advice about the vaccinations required? From the UK it appears I need an MMR, do we get these done before the medical date is set?

I notice that for those of us of " a certain age" , they require annual influenza jabs. Having spoken to my GP surgery it appears that they don't have any vaccine left for this year and only get it in in the autumn/winter. Will this be a problem?

    Isn't this process fun :no::no:

Good luck to those still waiting - I'm sure good news is only around the corner.

  8. Hi,

We received our NOA2 yesterday (21st March), it was dated 13th March. So 8 days to get to a Virginia address. However, online status still says pending.

This was processed in record time by CSC, although according to the allocation of service centre by state, we should have gone to VSC. Someone was watching over us!

Good luck to all of you still waiting, I wish you a speedy smooth process.

  9. Thank you Taj'samericanwife. To be honest, I'm in shock. I haven't done too much research on the next part of the process, but think I'm ok for documentation, just got to get the police report underway which takes 10 days here in the UK. I'll get going on that on Monday. Hopefully I'll have it back by the time the case file arrives at NVC.

All husbands tax documentation is in order together with letter from employer etc., so just got to find some dollars to pay for the next steps.

    Best wishes and good luck

  10. Hi Lucky Feb Filers,

I just can't believe it!!! We've received our NOA2 already!!!!

Hubby has just called to say it arrived in the post today, and is dated 13th March 2009. Approval exactly one month after posting. This has to be a record time.

Spooky as both posting and approval dates were on Friday 13th (Feb and Mar). Who said that was unlucky????? I don't think so!

Best wishes to all of you with the process, I'm sure you will receive yours too shortly. It looks like February was indeed a lucky month to file.

  11. Hi everyone,

Whidbeygirl, you are a star. I'd like to add my thanks for the effort you have put in for all of us. I completely agree with your thinking, I too like to plan for the worst but hope for the best.

Sending all the Lucky February Filers greetings from the USA. I came yesterday for a two week visit with my husband. Thank God for the Visa Waiver Programme.

For all those thinking of making the journey to the US whilst the I130 is in progress, I had no problem whatsoever, answered all questions truthfully at immigration and sailed through.

I know not everyone can do this if your country of origin isn't part of the VWP, and I pray for a speedy approval for us all, because this separation we have to endure is awful. But for anyone thinking of travelling from a VWP country - there seems to be no issues. I took a whole pile of documentation to prove I was only here for two weeks, but wasn't asked for anything. But it was comforting for me to know that I had prepared should the situation have arisen.

    Take care everyone,

  12. Hi,

Our file didn't get transferred. However, we should have been sent to VSC as my husband is from VA.

However we've been sent directly to CSC. Not sure why but I know of at least one other who this has happened to.

Maybe States that should be directed to VSC have had a much larger number of applications and they are trying to even things out a bit. Who knows. It's all pot luck from what I can gather regarding whether your case will go through quickly or slowly :)

  13. Hi Whidbeygirl,

Thank you for compiling those stats! It helps keep us together as a Lucky February Filers group and map our progress.

Well done. Interesting to see that our time between filing and NOA1 was one of the longest - but I think hubby filed on a friday (13th!) and then there was a public holiday on the following monday.

Good luck everyone, it's great that we're keeping in touch like this.

  14. Our NOA1 has arrived !!!

We are really on our way ...................ALSO, they've sent us to California Service Centre, when logically we should have gone to Vermont..................interesting!

I know we'll probably not hear anything for a long while now, but this does feel good :-)

Great to be part of the "Lucky February Filers" group !!!

Good luck to everyone and have a great weekend.

  15. Hi everyone,

Looking to join the Lucky February Filers group here! We got married on New Years Eve in London and hubby sent I 130 package last friday. Received and signed for on Tuesday 17th February. The journey begins.

All we need now is bucket loads of patience from what I can see from this website, especially as we had to file with Vermont Service Centre :( Here's hoping Vermont get their act together in 2009.

Take care everyone and good luck with getting through this as quickly as possible.
