  1. If your other half doesn't have a SS# and your filing an ITIN; therefore, not getting a stimulus payment.

Don't sweat you'll just have to wait a bit longer to get your free money.

Can you use an ITIN instead of an SSN? Taxpayers with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) instead of an SSN are not eligible to receive a stimulus payment. Both people listed on a "married filing jointly" return must have valid SSNs to qualify for the payment — if only one has a valid SSN, neither can receive the payment.

Not eligible at the current time? If your circumstances change and you become eligible after you file your 2007 federal tax return, you can always file an amended return using Form 1040X. File the form after April 14, 2008, and allow 8-12 weeks of processing time before making any inquiries about your payment.

  2. Stimulus Payment Schedule:

Find when your payment is due by using the last 2 numbers of your social security number.

If you filed your taxes using direct deposit:

    00-20 May 02

    21-75 May 09

    76-99 May 16

If you filed your taxes through the mail:

    00-09 May 16

    10-18 May 23

    26-38 June 06

    39-51 June 13

    52-63 June 20

    64-75 June 27

    76-87 July 04

    88-99 July 11

    oops!-- :hehe:

If you filed your taxes through the mail:

    19-25 May 30

  4. WAMU is wonderful. They bend over backwards to please. They even reimbursed my overdraft fee when I went over by a smidge. Can't get that with BOK! They even helped me when somehow someone got money out of my account through an ATT payment I never made. I know use their online bill pay service since that incident with no problems. One of the best banks I've ever delt with.

  5. I agree, find the job 1st then look for housing nearby, cuz traffic can be hell.

I only work 1 mile from home which is very rare and a blessing!

I also live downtown in a transitional neighborhood in lofts, but 2 blocks away is "ghetto" hood type area.

You'll find a lot of that in Atlanta. If you wanna go upper upper class check out Buckhead.

Stay away (far away) from Bankhead.

    6. a well stocked refrigerator

    7. access to at home computer/internet/washer dryer

    8. AIR CONDITION

    9. clean tap water

    10. FREEDOM

  7. I'm worrying a lot about which path to take? Either CR-1 or K-3 visa. I tried calling the NVC but couldn't get any information from them about how long each path takes. And I think CR-1 would be better but how do I inform NVC or USCIS that I want to file for the CR-1? We just got approved for the I-130 we filed last year in June. We don't want to file the wrong forms or send them to the wrong location and we'd like to have everything available to the people at NVC so that it does not prolong my spouse's visa.

She is from Germany and if anyone else who knows, please let us know how this process works. We don't want to be given wrong instructions again. Thank you.

If you filed the I-130 and its approved you are on the CR1 course already.

If you also filed a I-129F that was also approved you are on the K3 course.

If I were you if your already approved, don't rock the boat, just go with the flow cuz if you start over it'll take another 6 months, at least!

  8. Just got my NVC case number (from phone line) too... It was entered on the 17th!

As several folks getting update from NVC this Tuesday, I also try to call NVC throughout the day to see if they've a case number for us. For the whole day I kept getting that there's no record of my case.

Right before 11 pm central time, I decided to give NVC a last call for the day and talked to an operator this time. As soon as he asked for my spouse's name and DOB, I was so happy. Finally, NVC got our case and updated it on the system at 6 pm, March 18th. I guess NVC also does an update on Tuesday, in addition to Monday as everyone already knows.

Cool! Congrats! That's great news. You are now in Phase 2 where things go much faster. Arm yourself with "shortcuts" I only used the first one - emailing 3032, but it saved a good 2-3weeks.

  9. *peeks in* goes back to bed

Girl, you'd better get to work! Tornado my behind!

Moonlitcherry, you work in the downtown Atlanta area?

I can sleep late cuz I start my shift at noon. *naah naah* Yes, I work and live downtown about 2 miles from area that got hit. I must have a ton of angels cuz I left work the same time the tornado landed. I had no clue before I stepped out the doors--I'm from Oklahoma (tornado alley) so even without sirens I knew something was amiss and I ran 2 red lights and speed home. My twin told me as soon as I stepped foot in the door what was going on. Luckily the building I work in didn't get hit nor our home.

  10. Received case number! Next step is waiting for the I-864 and IV fee bills? I am doing all of my paperwork through a lawyer, so does this mean that I can´t really use James´ shortcuts?

    C

hi, saradanielle, may i ask did you receive the NVC case number by a letter or by an email? my husband got the NOA2 on 27th Feb, we still have not got anything form the NVC,

I got my case number by calling the NVC line and putting in my USCIS number. I haven´t gotten a hard copy or an email or anything actually... but since it was just a few days ago, I guess it is on the way via mail - actually, it will probably go to my attorney.

I never received a hard copy that they received my I-130 or my new case number. I had my husband email the DS3032 via the "shortcut" method and they sent me the 1st bill along with a form for the DS3032 which I believe is a formality because they sent me a notice with my second bill that they have me as the benificiary of the DS3032.
