  1. My honey passed the 2nd interview. He completed his medicals and showed up with ALL the "supporting evidence" this time.

The same man that previously interviewed him took his notebook and photos and 3 hours later came out with congratulations.

    :dance::dance:

  2. passed the 2nd interview...woo hooo...yeee hawww!

This time my hubby went with ALL the emails and chats, phone card receipts, text messages...

He had the same person that interviewed him the 1st time. He reviewed the notebook and came out with a smile and said " Congratulations, You can pick up your passport on Friday...woo hoo

  3. Hi folks,

Our case is now completed at the NVC and after a call to them I was told that an interview date for my husband will be scheduled the second week of January. We first began filing, sending in the I-130 and later I-129 which were both approved at the same time, in the beginning of July. Our case was completed at the NVC on December 16th. My question is does my husband have to have any sort of completed vaccinations before the interview? We haven't recieved any information regarding vaccinations or the medical exam yet but we want the heads up so we know what to expect and if it's possible to get a head start on required vaccinations. I have retained a lawyer as a matter of insurance and assurance and he says that vaccinations are not required until Ali is in the US (this may be a mistake as he may have been referring to the K-3 visa at the time. We were pursuing both at that time and then settled on the CR-1). A link would be helpful!

My husband had the same issue. I had to copy and email the letter NVC sent me. (He never recieved his copy and NVC informed us to do this) He then took that to the medical center (Akai house I think) where they start issuing the shots which takes about 2 months. He didn't complete them before his 1st interview, and this was one of the reasons for denial of his visa. They said he needed to have them completed by his 2nd interview which will be in Feb.

  4. I emailed the Ghana embassy to get a word-for-word strict guideline as to what "evidence" they want to see. The response was:

"I’m not able to give you a checklist of items as there is no one document or set of documents that a person can bring to the interview to be issued a visa; each case is considered as a whole based on the personal circumstances of each applicant as determined during the interview.

The applicant should bring information that supports the relationship."

  5. That was what I had... a form letter written and signed by my parents, and notorized. It stated that both sides of the family were there for our ceremony and it was a true and binding relationship, along with a statement of birth and citizenship. Apparently, that wasn't the kind of proof the embassy was looking for. Had I known what the future held for us I'd have taken lots of pictures together the first time we met because they seemed very interested in the fact we only had 3 pics together prior to us getting married the next year. I think they'd loose their marbles if they knew the things that go on in Las Vegas.

  6. Evidence taken to the interview:

They said they needed more pictures from our previous meeting other than our wedding. We had only taken 2 pictures together--not knowing what the future would hold and this crazy process.

    1. I couldn't get his name put on our bank account because he doesn't have a ss#. So I gave them my bank information, and a letter from the bank manager stating all of my accounts were in good standing, and we've had international transactions back and forth along with a number to call them if they needed more verfication.

    2. I had my old and new sscard information and passport to show my name change.

    3. Passport information showing the dates I traveled. Copies of tickets.

    4. Calling card transactions through pingo and comfi.com

    5. Text messages, emails, chat logs, copied prints of mail.

    6. 2007 tax forms. Copies of paystubs, proof of employment.

    7. My parents even wrote a letter stating that they blessed our marriage and were there to witness. They rejected the letter.

I called NVC to ask what else they needed and they told me all they should've asked for was 2007 taxes. Go figure, they already have that.

My best guess is that my SO hadn't completed his medical shots, and they probable don't want him to leave until then. Otherwise everything else is a go.

What kind of evidence did you both bring to the first interview?

What I have is almost a year's worth of phone bills. We talk 2-3 times a day. Western Union receipts, Joint Bank Account records, boarding passes, Name change evidence. evidence of knowledge of marriage through name change, Life insurance policy through military. We also have the normal pictures. Pre,Wedding and post wedding pictures.

Is there anything else? We don't have much mail and email. No reliable internet access for my husband and the mail service sucks, they lose too much of what I sent him.

What kind of evidence did they ask for?

  7. My husband said the interview portion went well, but they wanted "more evidence". The man said he needed more text, email, mail, chat. I already provided my SO with over 100 pages of that! (Personally I think they like reading that stuff on their lunch breaks)

I called NVC and they told me, the only thing they should have asked for is my 2007 taxes, since I hadn't filed them by the time it had gone to NVC; and I told them I did send that to them. ?#@!

The Ghana consolate gave my husband another interview date in February.

    I'm soooo furious!

  8. i'm mad today... i went to apply for a scholarship and this lady made me so mad.....

on the form it asks to put down your race; (One race only) WHITE- BLACK- ASIAN- HISPANIC (non-white)- INDIAN

so I ask her can I write OTHER or BLACK and ARAB? she says no. if you are black, you are black. and to me you are BLACK, so put BLACK.

i was like ????? damn... i thought it was quite racist... but refused to comment...

In my opinion I think the fault is with the scholarship form. The 'lady' was just informing you the best she could *and was probable having a very bad day too*--You should have had an other slot to check or the option not to check ANY at all. Heck, I would've checked "white" just to piss her off!
