I had passport and visa in hand 2 days after my interview... It was crazy quick! Good luck!

*** Moved from IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures to General Immigration-Related Discussion, where topics about address change are discussed ***

If you did not change your intended US address from the intended address in your DS-260 form at the time of your interview, then there is no need for you to file an address change with USCIS.

If you ever actually change addresses in the future, then you (the immigrant) will need to file AR-11 address change by mail, or create your own USCIS account (not using your petitioner's account) to change address online.

Mern V got a reaction from appleblossom in Visa Packet to enter the US?
I received an instruction sheet with my visa that says all I need is the visa/passport to cross the border. As appleblossom said, it states on the visa "IV DOCS IN CCD" so they have everything they need, already.

You need to pay the $220 fee for your green card to USCIS (you can do so online), ideally before you cross.

But that's it. There is no "packet" that I am aware of.

I wouldn't make any changes until she has visa in hand as she qualifies on current affidavit of support (already approved at NVC I imagine?).

Not sure why you think you need your medical results?? Those are only sent to the consulate, and you wouldn't have your visa if that hadn't been done. You have your visa, and it's clear from what's written on it that you don't need to carry anything with you. It's all electronic these days for spousal applicants, anything you've read referring to a packet being carried is either very outdated or for another visa type.

IV DOCS IN CCD means all of your documents have already been transmitted electronically. CCD stands for Consular Consolidated Database.

The CEAC status will change to "Issued".  That is the only definitive way to know.

Are you up for some cake??  Guess what?  Okay, I won't play guessing games.....we just got approved!!  As usual, I was doing crazy things like checking the statuses of 10 cases before mine and 10 cases after and saw that one was in active review as of tomorrow (yes, it has tomorrow's date on it) and then realized that case was mine!!  So I logged in and there was the approval document - I swear I checked it about 20 times to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.  Your prediction was spot-on.  I hope you know how much I appreciate all of your support and humor during this awful process....it kept me hopeful and focused and I truly thank you, my friend!

Thank you!!  It took us exactly 12-1/2 months to get approved.  I've been seeing that timeframe in most of the processing centers so yours should be coming up very soon!  Good luck - I hope you get news soon - it's an incredible sense of relief - I feel like I can breathe now LOL.

Hi everyone! I just received the greatest news ever.
My application has finally been approved!
After more than a long year of waiting and stressing I can say it is a big relief. On to the next steps.

    K3 was never updated
I-130 Case status date had changed to todays date
Went into documents tab and approval notice was in there!

To everyone still waiting, hang in there you will hear something soon.

I just received an email from USCIS an hour ago, "we have taken an action on your case".  Logging in still shows AR2, and the documents tab still does the approval.  All the case tracking apps still show AR.  The only difference is when the AR date changes.  The moment it changed is when i began to see the I-130 Approval in the documents tab.

    PD - 02 feb 2022
    NOA1 - 02 feb 2022
    NOA2 - 16 feb 2023

Our account showed no movements since we submitted petition. Then surprise happened: on 16 feb 2023 account showed “Case is being actively reviewed” and on 17 feb 2023 “Case approved” and approval notice in documents tab.
No RFEs. Our case was straight forward.

Our service center was Potomac SC)

P.s. We didn’t contact neither Congressman neither Senator. We didn’t submit I-129a.

good luck to everyone in next stage!

    Congrats!!!
Just checked my status... Petition approved!!
I had to look under documents tab because my status still says "actively reviewing" but the date changed to today's so that was weird... So I looked under documents and there it was.. the approval notice.

    Now the fun starts eh??

Drop your keyboard, mouse, and smartphone on the ground, back away from the usajobs.gov website slowly, and dont reach for anything or make any sudden or fast moves. 🤣🤣

Congratulations!!  You guys are making me feel left out….we all want to join the party!!  Good for you I’m sure you’re so relieved.  Don’t worry about NVC….nothing can be as bad as USCIS.  I think the worst is over.
