  1. ChuckNTeresa have a youtube video of photos at the Danyels (and a tour of Juarez) here:

It looks really nice (the apts - and the city looks nice too).

We didnt get a chance to see the rest of Juarez. I been hearing that its not too safe these days so be careful going to the centro.

  2. I stayed at these furnished apartments not too far from the consulate. They gave me the 60 a night price since we stayed there a week. Its a 1 bedroom with a kitchen and bathroom and also has wireless net. Its a few blocks from the S market so its good place if you plan on staying for a while in Juarez and want to do some cooking. Its also alot cheaper than eating out every night. If anyones interested heres the info. We couldnt have found a better place to stay.

  3. I can't find the answer, and I can't remember... but does CDJ need 2 passport-style photos of the both of us at the interview, or only of my fiance?

I'm going to pretend that I know the answer to this- and say that I think it's just your fiance.

Can someone clear up whether they take two 2x2 photos of the Mexican Citizen at the medical appointment. The ones Diana has will be old by the time she interviews.

Well- in the medical examination instruction sheet on the CDJ website, it says "It is not necessary to bring a photo for your medical exam, it will be provided by the medical clinic without charge." So... I wouldn't think she'd need to bring her own? For the actual interview she'll probably need to take new photos... Anyone think that sounds right?

I don't know either... that part of the instruction sheet always confused me, because on the other (appointment) sheet, it says to bring 2 photos. I do know though, that many of the people inside the consulate (as opposed to the medical clinic) were sent out to go outside and visit the photo place across the street for new photos.

So greatgate - you might just want to submit what you have now, since they probably won't accept any passport style photo you submit (based on the old reviews here & in this thread) and will just tell Diana to go outside, get new photos, and come back in.

    Hi All,

Havent been on here in a while but thought I would throw my 2 cents in. The clinic takes fotos for the exam. You still need to take 2 fotos for the actual interview. I suggest getting them at any of the places across the street to not deal with the hassle of getting the wrong format.

  4. congrats joey:) im leaving tommorow to bring my fiance back next sunday. our weddings set for aug 23rd :). Im excited. I dunno where I'll take my fiance first for sightseeing. Maybe Alcatraz or the Golden Gate :).

Sanfranguy, that's exciting! I bet the Golden Gate would be something great to see. I've seen Alcatraz but thought the seals at fisherman's warf were more interesting. Or how about China Town or the wax museum?

The seals are something to see. I'm sure she will enjoy bushman too. Did you catch him? He's the guy that hides behind some self made shrubs and scares the tourists as they walk by. He attracts a huge crowd. It's funny seeing the reactions. I'll make my fiance a victim ;)

    Hello,

Just wondering, did the K-1 people who interviewed in CDJ use the Affidavit of Support I-134 for their K-1 (visa) interview? I'm just wondering which form "support form" the consulate wants filled out for the K-1.

    Thanks!

Yes gatita. Thats the one to use.

  5. Thanks to both of you for the reply. Fwaguy, I didn't understand your comment. Are you saying once my fiance enters the country she can give a consent form to the immigration officer so they can have it in their system once I bring the daughter in with me?

The border guards wanted to see the permission slip of paper signed by by her ex-husband granting his permission

The father is not stated on the birth certificate. He is not recognized as the father.

  6. Hello Everyone

My fiancée is ready for her K1 interview in Juarez. She has a 12 year old son who is with her on the I129-F petition and will be accompanying her. I have read that children under 15 must have their medical exam performed in Juarez 4 days before the interview. Is this the case with immigrant visas only, or also with non-immigrant visas like the K1?

This important piece of information is lacking in the instructions that came with the fiancée packet. In fact, I wouldn’t have known about it if not for this site.

Also, can they have their medical exams done at the same time, then return a week later for the interview?

    Thanks in advance.

    K

I recommend the clinic next to the consulate in Juarez. Yes ,they can do them both at the same time but the reason the child needs to take it 4 days before is because of the tuberculosis results. What we did was go to the clinic on Monday and they both did their exams. Thursday the results were ready for both of them. Since you are K1 then you have an open appointment you can go on Friday without scheduling anything. Once Friday comes around do not get in line. That is for the other visa's. Check in around 7-730am and show the guard your appoinment letter and they will let your fiance in with the child. Do not open the results from the clinic. It will say so on the packet they give you. Any help just ask. I have some aparments you can stay at too that were close by and clean.

  7. Thanks to both of you for the reply. Fwaguy, I didn't understand your comment. Are you saying once my fiance enters the country she can give a consent form to the immigration officer so they can have it in their system once I bring the daughter in with me?

And make sure you have a copy of the non-custodial parent's consent (if one was secured for the visa). My wife was asked for it upon departure from her country, Mexico may as well...

  8. My fiance and her daughter got their visa approved recently in Juarez ,Mexico. My fiance will be entering with me in 2 weeks and the daughter will follow 1 week prior to our wedding in August. I will be going to pick up the daughter and bring her back since my fiance will not have AP yet. Does anyone have experience in bringing the k2 child in the country without the parent. I just want to make sure that I can bring her with me into the states. I will take her mothers visa and any paperwork that shows the type of visa. I have been told by a family member that I might need some type of notarized letter from the mother giving me permission to bring the child with me. Does anyone know if this is true? I figure since I am the USC and the mother already is in the states that I should not have a problem bringing her daughter with me.

  9. Hey

I received packet 3 today and want to fill it in and mail it back out by Monday. What did everyone put in the spots for 'Date of travel' and 'Date of wedding'? I am a mature student and will be done with university in two weeks, so am keen to get things all wrapped up asap.

Did anyone put a date of travel a few weeks off to speed up the process, or get an earlier interview date? If you don't have any dates set, what did you put? 'TBA'? 'ASAP'?

Any advice would be gratefully received!

    - Martin

we did not put anything and it was fine.

  10. My fiance recently received the packet 3 forms he must complete and return to the embassy in Spain.

A question: Must he fill out each form by hand? Or is there a way I can download the PDF versions here in the US, complete them online, print them and mail them back to him?

I would feel much more comfortable about this step of the process if my fiance provides me with the information, and I do the actual preparation of forms. Of course, I would like to be absolutely certain that if I can complete downloadable PDF versions, those PDF versions are an exact match to the forms sent by the embassy. (I understand that some of the forms the embassy provides have barcodes, which I assume implies that downloadable PDF's could not be submitted in their place.)

I would greatly appreciate any insight/ feedback anyone may have.

you can find all the pdf versions on the uscis website.

  11. i emailed jaurez and asked these questions

WOW! I just got off the phone on that 900#! I called to see If you had received anything on my k3 visa cdj---------. I have been receiving letters on my I 130 but nothing on my k3 so I called and WOW, what a shock, not only have you receive my papers, I have a interview date of June 6th. They did not say what time, I need to know that as well. They say that they mailed a packet on April 1rst, and another one on April 8th, I have never received anything at all! Now since one of our kids will need a tuberculosis test, I guess we have to be there four days early, and since our appointment is on Thursday will have to be there 7 days early in order to be ready, to go to the doctor on Friday is this correct? So now I have 23 days to get ready for something in which I received no papers to tell me how to get ready. I have several questions, I was born and raised on a farm in northern Indiana and do not know much about big cities, to make matters worse, while on hold on the phone on your pay number, they warn of a lot of violence and robberies in your area. They say not to show up before 6;30 as you do not open until 7:00, yet I read often that people have to show up at three or four in the morning to be able to get in to there appointment. The people on the phone somewhat agreed. If I have an appointment on June 5th will I get in on June 5th? I will have been in your town a week by this time, I here people say that it takes days before they get interviewed. I am told you have to sit on the street to wait to get in, and once in there is no food allowed, and you may wait inside almost a entire day. We have three children, one baby ten months old, and a 9 and 13 year old, if my wife needs to feed the baby, will she have to go out side? Will she lose her place in line if she goes outside? Should we even bring our children? We really have no one to watch them we are unsure of what situation we will encounter there with all the kids. My wifes neighbor said they were at your office getting some kind of visa and they were there untill 12 at night how late are you open? Also to pay doctors and visa fees may I use a credit card, as the 900# recommends you carry as little cash as possible.

I hope you can inform me on some of my concerns, hopefully tell me its all false!

Sorry for so many questions but I just learned I have a lot to figure out in 23 days thanks for your help!

and there only response was this

You don’t need to be here one week early, if your appointment is on Thursday, you can be here taking the medical exams on Monday or Tuesday. If you take a taxi do not let them take you to any Hotel because they usually scam the people charging a lot for a dirty room, we recommend that you stay in a hotel that belong to a chain, like Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Lucerna or Fiesta Inn. You also don’t need to be in line at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning, you should be here at 6:30 a.m.

kind of odd isn't it they ignored most of what i asked who else can i ask inn the goverment?

You are in luck i dont know when you are going to Juarez but if you have to stay in juarez you might want to consider staying at this place it is called Danyels's Apartments !!! They have a Kitchen stove microwave refrigerator there own bathroom and bedroom they are about 45 dollars a night for a weekly rate. they are close to the consulates office the number is 011-52-656-613-6729. If you were to stay in Hoilday Inn or one of the chain hotels you are looking at about 80 to 90 dollars a night !!! With no aminites such as stove refridge or microwave !!! Check out our slide show here called Ciudad Juarez

It will show you they area and the apartments i am telling you about !!! If you have any other questions please let us know !!!! We would be happy to help you in anyway !!! Just send us an email !!! Hope your Jorney is a good one !!! My Fiancee will pray that all your fears and concerns will be at ease and that your family will be richly blessed !!! No worries no hurries just smooth sailing !!!! Bless you Chuck and Teresa

You beat me to it chuck and teresa. we stayed there too and it was perfect. we were walking distance from the supermarket and the area was safe. we didnt feel scared at all being there. bryan and nicole, its not as bad as you hear. we were scared before we got there but we didnt see any crazy stuff go on while we were there. the kids tb tests take 4 days before you have to go back to the clinic so they can sign off the kids as negative. since your appt is thursday i wouldnt risk taking the medical exams on monday since they ask 4 days for you to return and get the tb results for the kids, and that would be picking up the results by 2pm. you might have to take the exams on friday so the results will be ready on wednesday. i think you would be better off staying at those apartments though. you can do your own cooking and its in a nice area. you will have to walk to the supermarket just a few blocks to catch a taxi to the exams and the consulate though. good luck. anything i can help with just ask.

  12. We made the News Paper in my Home Town !!! Here is the Link ( http://www.examiner.net/news/x1820415609/Trapped-in-paradise ) Thanks Visa Journey !!! We continue to Fight For What Is Right !!!! Chuck and Teresa

    Hi Chuck and Teresa,

I cant imagine what you both are going through. I was stressing off extra days needed in case something happened when we were in Juarez. The whole process put a dent in my pocket thats for sure. I'll send out a prayer for both of you. Thats so wrong how they handle things when the obvious is right in their face. It's almost like their heartless and just consider every petition as just a # not knowing the affect it has on the people dealing with the situation. Que dios este con ustedes.....

  13. Thanks to this site I have been able to get my fiancee' a visa......ALMOST!!! Her interview is in 10 days!!!

I hope this isn't a problem but I took 18 months away from work to travel around the world when I met my fiancee. I am working now and sent in my

I-134 along with my for 2003, 2004 and 2005 tax returns. I was self employed during those years and my accountant put me on the backburner for my 2006 returns since I was out of the country and not working. The extensions were filed and taxes paid but he still hasn't finished the return for 2006 or 2007. Do you think there will be a delay on the visa since I cannot produce last year's tax returns???

I have at least 5x savings for income requirements and in addition own my house and cars and have no debt.

Still I am so nervous about this proces. Please keep Sai and I in your prayers.

    Thanks

    Heiko

I didnt have my 07 taxes ready at the time I gave my fiance the documents. What my tax preparer did was fill out the forms as if they were submitted to the irs but were not actually filed. It had all the info and his company stamp and all. Im sure your tax guy can prepare the forms for you as if they were submitted to the irs. I did it with no problem and my fiance got her visa.

  14. Brian if I recall correctly, you can begin filling out all forms ahead of time. I too did the same. I went down personally with my fiance and filled everything out for him and simply had him sign it. I also organized everything he was taking so that he can easily find what is being asked of him. I did it months in advance so I don't see any problem with that.

    I'll be doing that too.

Off topic, how many of you guys think you'll go back to Mexico eventually to live/retire? We're planning to live there after some time here, although he doesn't know yet if he wants to be a US citizen. I know it'd make it easier to go back and forth if he is, and that we'd be limited to the amount of time we live there if he eventually wants to become one, but we're taking everything one step at a time.

We have talked about that ourselves and the way things are going with our economy we might be headed down there. Within the next year we will be purchasing a house down there and have her mom live there. So just in case we will have that in case of something. Who knows though. Things might get better here. Im self employed and in the trucking business. The diesel is pretty much killing me so if things get worse I'll probably end up going back to the tech industry or just moving to mexico all together. We shall see.........

  15. I also would like to make an update...we were supposedly going for the K1 Interview this week...but my aunt hasn't signed the I-184 Affidavit of Support...we're pretty scared because apparently she does not want to give out all her income info and sign the affidavit and my fiancee Karla does not meet the income requirements for sponsorship...

We're pretty much all set on everything else we are just gonna wait if one of her closest friends can be her co-sponsor or if my aunt changes her mind.

I also have bank account statements showing about 9,000dlls with several deposits from the past 3 months but no official letter from the bank. How would that look for the interview? those are my funds readily available to be transferred to a US bank account.

    Thanks and god bless all.

    Jose

im not sure what your income is but thats what most important. as long as you have a job and you make over the poverty lines for the number of people that will be in your household you should be ok. i gave no bank statements. all i gave my fiance were my 2007 1099 , tax return, and 3 months of pay stubs and she got the visa.

  16. Our forum has been rather quiet lately. Any updates from anyone? Anything new?

    Hey Cutie,

How you guys doin? Well our wedding here in San Francisco is set for August 30. She will be here the last week of June to help me set up the wedding and all. Right now im working on getting the padrinos (godfathers). We plan on doing a simple hall wedding here and next year do the whole church wedding in Monterrey in 09. We'll ,gotta get back to work now. Take care!

  17. I would do 2 or more years of returns and the actual w2's or 1099's (wichever applies to you). I unfortunatly couldnt get copies of transcripts in time so I only gave my fiance the 1099 and tax return form of 2007 along with recent paystubs for about 3 months. She got the visa with no problem for her and her daughter. Note that this was in Juarez, Mexico so I would provide more years if you can since all consulates dont work the same way. good luck.
