Can someone please adjust the date for shes interview? It is listed as 03/15 but when I visited her profile it is scheduled for 05/15. I do not know how to adjust it.

Okay guys... I have a question!What do you wear to the interview?? Do you dress like if you were going to a job interview? or more casual?
I would be wearing something a little more casual but still respectable. I would be wearing long sleeves polo shirt or 3/4ths blouse and then pair it off with slacks (dress pants)... i would ask my husband to wear slacks and polo shirt also, he is not into the tie thing.
are you getting excited for your interview? less than a month and it will be the day.

Hi,
Was looking at your timeline and I'm just curious to know how you were Blessed enough to received your EAD just days after your biometrics. I'm at my mailbox everyday looking out for mine since I did my biometrics almost a month ago. I am Prayerful and Hopeful though that it will be here any day now...even more Prayerful and Hopeful that it will be in the mail early this week!
I don't know the answer, perhaps it was because USCIS made us wait longer than most to have biometrics schedule. If you would look at the timelines, most january filers who had biometrics late march received their EAD approvals just days after the biometrics... but that is just wild guess... with USCIS, nobody knows for sure.
I am with you in hoping that you will get your EAD soon. (((HUGS)))

I've noticed that status on USCIS.gov hasnt changed since 01/30/2009, which is OK since USCIS.gov web site tends not to work. However what about the 1800 number? Is the 1800 up to date? Has any recieved there EAD and then called the 1800 number, did it still say case recieved and pending. Is the 1800 number and website corrleated?
If you would call the 1800 number, insist to be transferred to a supervisor because the first person you will talk to will only see what you see online, if you can't see anything, then they won't be much help... but the supervisor have more access and they can really check the status of your application in their computer, far beyond what we see online and what the first customer service can see.
I have my interview date and EAD now, my AOS still can't be seen online while the EAD has never changed beyond the production date.

Dbears, thank you for such helpful information! When I was applying for the new SS card, the girl at SSA office even didn't bother to explain anything to me
She just took my EAD and marriage certificate, made the copies and gave me the paper that says that they need to verify the document(s) with USCIS which may take up to 4 weeks. As far as I understood, this is a standard form that is given to everybody in the same status and I doubt if she was trying to veryfy anything then. It is amazing what a different approach they have in every office, sometimes it seems to me that we live in different Americas 
So true, yesterday was actually my 4th attempt at getting SSN. First time was in the SSA in our county and the lady I talked to said i have become a K3 (i came in with k1 visa) since I have already gotten married
so therefore, I was not qualified to apply til i get my EAD. (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=2379225).. per advised by some vjer i went back to the same SSA office armed with documents proving k1 and k3 are 2 different visa category and if you came in as k1, subsequent marriage will not change that fact. i also had documents proving k1s are eligible to apply for SSN as long as the I-94 is not yet expired well sir, the SSA lady (the same one i first talked to a week before that) got heated up and accused me of getting those documents by fraud. So me and hubby had to travel an hour from our hometown to another SSA office; a bigger, busier office and they accepted my SSA application without problem and even explained to me why they need to verify my status and also told me to get in touch with immigration through infopass and tell them about my name change and make sure i am in the system... it turned out, the immigration officer at my port of entry left the admission status blank, he forgot to write in k1 in that spot. By the time we found this out, it was too late, my I-94 was only days from expiring so the 2nd SSA office was not able to verify my status in time. Lesson learned, never go back to the same SSA office twice if they don't know what they are doing. We had to travel far yesterday to apply for SSN but I think we made the right decision since there was problem verifying my status again, had we gone to our local SSA office, i doubt if they would even attempt to send any form of verification request to immigration.
You are so true, how they handle things in their offices here (state by state and county by county) would really make you think we live in different americas.... i am so waiting how our local DMV office will handle my case when I apply for license, I have read about some people having problem with their DMV offices while others was able to apply with just EAD in a breeze.

If you file all 4 at the same time: for you and for your 3 kids, the fee would be
YOU: $1010
15 yr old kid: $1010 (separate application forms separate g325a)
10 yr old kid: $600 (separate application forms, no need for g325a)
9 yr old kid: $600 (separate application forms, no need for g325a)
if you would choose to file for yourself first and then file for the kids afterwards, the fee would be $1010 for your 15 yr old and then $930 for each of your 2 younger kids.

Went to the SSA office this morning, unfortunatelly, they were not able to verify my status online. The girl at the SSA sent electronic verification request to USCIS. She said if USCIS won't reply in a day or two, they would need to send a manual verification request which would take 4-6 weeks to go through which means I would be looking at 1-2 months before getting my SSN.. the thing that gets me is, SSA did not have problem verifying my 2 kids status so my kids will be receiving their SSN card in a week or 2. We just told the lady at SSA office that we might as well put the 2 kids to work since they will have their SSN soon and they have EAD to boot.
When we got home, I immediately called USCIS call center to make sure that my EAD status is in their system and the first person i talked to said, they can't do anything (she did not ask for my name nor my case number which should have been standard) and that I would need to do infopass but i insisted she transfer me to a supervisor so she did and the supervisor was able to verify my EAD status for me. The supervisor said they will transmit the info to the SSA office. Hopefully, things will smoothen up and I will get my SSN card in a week or two also like my kids.
JulianDavid, try calling USCIS and make sure you are in their system or you can make and infopass, they might be able to pull up your EAD status and give you something to bring back to SSA that will make your change of name application faster. I hope things will work out good for you.

It doesn't really have to do with USCIS but at least it is related to our marriage. I finally received the french family booklet and two french marriage certificate! So excited!
But I'm still worried for the rest with USCIS. Everybody is receiving things and us, nothing!
Your EAD card, AP document, Interview letter or approval letter will just pop up in the mail box, and hopefully it will be soon.

I guess it's a mystery that will never be solved
But Actually had a questions for all of my fellow January Submitters…. about AOS and USCIS, do they look at cases in order received or does it vary by geographic regions?i dont have my ead nor ap yet.. how come...and i dont see my status online yet.. is this normal guys? On USCIS site they say that they process the cases in order they receive them but I believe it is only partially true. For example, a lot of January filers have their interview dates (and one of us is already done with the interview ), while there are December, and even November filers who are still waiting. To big extent it's the matter of luck, and it also depends on how busy your field office is. Hopefully, you will get the good news pretty soon .USCIS are supposed to process cases as they recieve them but there are factors that could make one case go faster than the other eg. complexity of the case, adjudicator assigned to the case, and as JulianDavid mentioned, the field office your case will be assigned on (for interview mostly). I believe the adjudicator assigned to handle a case would be an extremely big factor, some are so meticulous, they simple need to see everything in the order that they want it (these are the people who sends out RFEs mostly for stuff already submitted) while others let some minor details pass (eg. accepting the vaccination sheet from K1 medical in lieu of I-693) and just make decisions base on more important facts presented so they work faster than others.
I simply hope and pray that everybody will receive good news this week... especially those who filed way before us.

Received the physical EAD card in the mail today but only for me and my daughter, my son's card is missing
. This is the first time a mail from USCIS did not arrive in 3s for us. I sure hope there is no problem with my son's card and that we would get it in the mail on Monday.Amy&Xin: I hope somebody could answer your question. We did not apply for AP so I don't know. But I am glad that you received it already.
SteveAndTiff: CONGRATS on the "welcome letter", it sure makes it official. I hope the physical permanent residency card comes in the mail soon.
....Things happen for a reason, maybe it was just not the right time yet, maybe if you got married earlier, you probably won't have an easy AOS journey. It's all maybe, we will never know for sure but the past is over and done with, the important thing is you are now married, Tiff will officially have her permanent residency card and in 3 years time, she could apply for citizenship.. and the most important thing would be for you to continue loving and cherishing each other for the rest of your lives. Be happy together and CONGRATS again. -

It's been quite a while that i haven't logged in to visa journey,and I'm glad to see all the progress of the AOS applications for the January filers!
Congrats to all who got their,AP,EAD and to our first AOS approval( Steve&Tiff)! It's nice to hear all of such good news about everyone's AOS!
And to add to the good news, we got my AP approval notice last week. And according to USCIS website, my EAD approval notice is up on its way to our mailbox since March 25! Hopefully we will receive it soon! I'm so getting bored of staying home all the time, it's about time to get some work and earn some bucks haha!

We're from Tagum, Davao del Norte... I also saw some durian in the asian store near here but it was soooo expensive and It don't have the distinct durian smell (though it's still has shell). I doubt if it will taste the same as our durian in Davao.

Still no physical EAD card
.. BUT, we received the interview letter for May 26th, 8AM. .. I am still hopeful we will get the EAD card in a few days.Added lancer1655 on the list; added cwaf's AP date; and added our interview sched.

yeah, that's right, your husband is a serviceman. i hope you have everything ready, his letter of appointment and everything. i know, whatever you will choose to wear, you will look fab and you will get approved just as long as you carry yourself with confidence.
I am also a jeans (blue jeans) and shirt girl, except when i go to church on sundays.
It doesn't matter if you came here on a K3 visa, we are all AOS applicants and I guess all our cases are processed the same way. Only USCIS knows whose case gets transferred or not so you can expect either of the two. What you can expect though is getting the 10 years permanent green card since you have been married 3 years already.
Hello dear, fiance/fiancee letter of intent required an original signature so USCIS needs the original. i would assume you are still filing the initial I-129F petition. I don't know if you are the beneficiary (intending immigrant) or the petitioner (US citizen). I was the beneficiary before and I had to mail my letter of intent and the G-325 forms to my then fiance (husband now) so he could mail it off together with the initial petition.
Btw, this is the AOS forum, you are welcome to hang out here since some of us has gone through K1 process also and we can probably provide answers in case you need one again.. but if there is new guidelines for K1, you might receive better answers in these forum: K1 visa case filing and progress report. Immigration is a long agonizing journey and it would also be best if you get to talk to people who are going through the same process at the same time like you do.
