It is to us petitioner to make them feel home too.
I lost my dad a little bit more than a year ago, this is why I petition my Mom to come here. I already told her that she is going to be homesick, she will have hard times ( I went through it too). But we are planning things. She will go to the community college to get ESL classes, we are going to bring her places where she can meet people... we are going to help her to make a new life!
Sure if it's to bring them here and then... here, stay on the couch, watch tv you don't understand, babysit the kids, help for the housework... it is not going to work...

All of that process seems so unfair sometimes! Why some offices are faster than other, why some people get their interview date so fast as some others are waiting ... forever.
It seem it could be so simple. We are permanent resident, ok, if we are clear from any issues, why it should take that long? We actually do pay for it.
And some people will say, what's the matter, no hurry, your have your GC...
Yes I do, but, my dad passed away in November and now my Mom is all alone... I want her to come live with me, and knowing that the whole process, with me becoming a citizen, then applying for her... if we are lucky she'll be with at the same time next year... if only she could visit while I do her I-130...

Honestly, it is not that expensive!
You want to become a citizen right? So show them that you really want to! It is not like it's a fee that came out of nowhere!
