  1. No, it usually waits at the NVC until Montreal gives the green light for the next batch of interview slots, and then the NVC will schedule/send it for you. Now, as far as I know, or as far as I am predicting, they typically cut off the DQ date somewhere in the third week of the month. As I have observed the trend here, you are looking for roughly 10 ish weeks from DQ to get IL. But it's just my observation, and there is no data to back it up. For example, my wife DQed on March 6, 2024, and the last time I checked consular operation pages last month after they updated on April 19th, they tried to schedule all the people who DQed in February 2024. Judging by posts on Reddit r/ NationalVisaCenter, people who DQed before 2/14/24 or a similar DQ date got IL on 4/17/24 or 4/18/24. So, with this limited data, I think my batch (Second half of Feb 2024 to mid-March DQ date) should receive IL in the coming dates if my prediction is correct. Fingers crossed, and let's hope that we all get IL in a timely manner.
  2. You will probably get an NVC welcome letter soon, which should be in 2-3 weeks. Then log into CEAC, which is the link they give you, and email with the Case and invoice number. From there, you have to finish three things: 1, DS-260, 2, civil docs, and 3, affidavit of support. Once you pay Uncle Sam and upload all your required docs, the NVC will give you an email that says Document Qualified (DQ) After that, it's just a waiting game. According to https://visawhen.com/nvc, the current NVC case creation time is about 17 days, and the document review time is about seven days. So, if everything goes smoothly, you are looking at a four-week turnaround time. Remember that you need an RCMP cert for police records, which is critical here.
  3. DQed early March, still waiting. When’s your DQ date?
  4. DQed in early March, but my wife's photo was taken in Dec when the case was first established. Should we replace her photo? In the meantime, I have finished my TY 23 tax and received my 1040 back. Should I upload it into CEAC? Will this new DQ push my position back into April/ May DQ for IL, or will I stay in the queue for March DQ? Thanks!
  5. May I ask you a question? I checked my CEAC status and I was DQed March. But CEAC says still “at nvc”, not “ready” status. I feel that’s strange. May I ask what’s your case status on CEAC?
  6. Anyone get IL recently? It has been awfully quiet…
  7. Document Qualified TODAY! 3 months of getting stuff prepped, turned around 2 times, and finally get qualified. Now it's the waiting game.
  8. Congrats! Just submitted all the stuff to NVC, hope can get something soon!
  9. So there are only five approved physicians listed on the DOS website in Canada. One in QC, one in BC and three in ON. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/MTL-Montreal.html The one in QC is TELUS Health Care Centres 600 Boul. de Maisonneuve West, 22nd Floor Montreal, QC, H3A 3J2 Tel: 514-845-1211 Tel: 1-800-361-3493 check the website. I need to book the one with BC and the physician is pretty strict on how to book appt.
  10. Biting my nails here every day for just waiting for my wife's police clearance from both RCMP and HKPF so we can submit everything to NVC and get documents qualified. The weird thing (or not so weird) for HKPF is that they don't mail the clearance back to you (they will mail it to MTL once done) nor will the give you any receipt. I snap a photo of my wife's fingerprint card and honestly, I have no idea if I should submit these to CEAC or just leave the blank there and explain the situation. Any suggestions?
  11. Still in the NVC stage though, but we need to plan ahead. Did anyone get their IV interview letters from Montereal after NVC qualified recently? And how far are they scheduling out? Weeks? Months? My wife is on an open work permit in Canada which is due to expire by the end of 2024. So we wanna know this information beforehand to avoid the need for her to apply for a Canadian PR. Thanks!
  12. My wife's 130 finally got approved just on the 11-month mark, huarry! Now we have a couple of questions that need some guidance since her case is kinda unique. 1, We know that it may take some time for USCIS to send the file to NVC, how long has that been so far? Right now it still says "approved", when will it say "Case Was Sent To The Department of State" roughly? Weeks? Months? 2, Once established, NVC sends a welcome letter, do we send all files electronically via the system or by paper? 3, Since she's from Hong Kong, we are thinking about changing the interview location from Montreal to Hong Kong, is that feasible? Because the police certificate in Hong Kong is unique and cannot be obtained w/o an official letter from NVC, we are thinking of getting everything done in HK instead of Canada since HK has less population on immigrant visa applications than Canada overall thus it may be faster. Thanks!
  13. Thanks for the heads up, but I would like to know it beforehand
  14. I'm filing 130 and 864 for my wife right now. However, I'm having a question rn (maybe it's a stupid question) My wife holds Hong Kong SAR passport, which is different from mainland Chinese passport. But I am wondering for the nationality on the forms, should I put "Hong Kong SAR" or simply just "China"? I know that cuz CR1 has no quota so it doesn't really bother anyways but just want to make more accurate for the USCIS to process. Thanks!
  15. Thanks for the first answer. But still didn't quite get the second though...
  16. Hi, I am having a pretty big headache right now for filing I130 for my wife. I have two questions and hope to get some answers online but so far no luck. I am hoping that your value experience can help me. 1, on page 7 of I130, part 4, beneficiary's entry information. My wife did entered US as F-1 before but currently she's in Canada. And for item 47 "passport number", which number should I put? She entered US with her old passport (A) and her old name but right now she has a new passport after changed her name, but this new passport (B) was never used for entering US. Should I put A on item 47 or B? 2, on page 8, item 57.a-f. Since she's from non-roman letter speaking country, I know that I need to put her native spelling for a to c. But currently she's residing in Canada as a worker (not PR), do I just ignore that part or put her home country address on it with native spelling? I know it's confusing but technically speaking, her current "permanent" address is Canada, right? Thank you so much for your help!!!
