  1. Thanks so much for all the helpful information you shared. It will definitely help us
  2. I just received my interview date for October 8th. I’d really appreciate any advice or tips from those who have been through this process, especially regarding the documents I should bring to the interview? It was based on K1, I didn't submit I693 with AOS package and was expecting RFE for it, I had the original one from my home country submitted at point of entry but it was missing vaccines, and I submitted new IN state vaccines record with AOS package, do I still need to bring a new I693 vaccines part sealed to the interview done with USCIS surgeon? or since they didn't do RFE it's not required. Thanks
  3. hello, I will enter US on a k1 fiance visa, and I am planning to get married and start AOS package but I am not planning to leave US until I get GC so I am trying to save some bucks as I-131 is separated now and costs $630 from my research, I know I can't leave US while AOS is pending does anybody know if it's ok to file AOS + EAD package without AP?
  4. adding a post about my current case situation after reading the whole two parts of this thread Visa Type: K1 fiance visa Embassy: Cairo, Egypt interview date: Sep 12, 2023 case last update: May 27, 2024 got DS-5535 been waiting for about 9.5 months now thinking of WOM but can't afford it at the moment, lawyers ask between 5k and 6k nowadays
  5. hopefully, we finish soon, we just hit the 8-month mark last week we are thinking of doing mandamus after the one-year mark this coming September or ignoring the K1, marrying, and starting the CR1 visa journey if we can't secure the lawyer cost but there is hope they are speeding up according to a post I read on one of the lawyer's blog
  6. Finally some positive news the AP backlog is decreasing, from Jan to April the backlog decreased from 66k to 61k that includes the new added cases that means they increased this department resources
  7. Immigration Administrative Processing made the news today on Fox News
  8. I hope so but why do you expect that? according to an article I read on the Redeagle law firm website, there are currently 66,000 visa applicants stuck in administrative processing. and only 37 State Department analysts are responsible for the national security vetting of DS-5535 responses.
  9. That’s so painful and heartbreaking , all you have to do now is wait it out and don’t give up on each other your love is stronger. may I know what lawyer you filled with?
  10. hello, My Fiance filled out k1 petition on Dec 13, 2021. Approved by USCIS on Mar 17, 2023. Transferred by NVC to the embassy on Jun 20, 2023. My interview was Sep 12, 2023. after that, I was put in Administrative processing and the embassy emailed the DS-5535 form to me, after some research online I found DS-5535 is extreme vetting and could take months to finish. I have seen encouraging cases of this AP done in two or three months and horrifying cases that took more than 17 months and the only way out for some people is A (writ of) mandamus which costs between $4k to $7k with a lawyer and also seen some people wasting that money and judge dismisses their case. I was wondering if anybody is going through this AP in Egypt for a k1 visa, please share your journey. thanks
