  1. Finally some positive news the AP backlog is decreasing, from Jan to April the backlog decreased from 66k to 61k that includes the new added cases that means they increased this department resources
  2. I hope so but why do you expect that? according to an article I read on the Redeagle law firm website, there are currently 66,000 visa applicants stuck in administrative processing. and only 37 State Department analysts are responsible for the national security vetting of DS-5535 responses.
  3. That’s so painful and heartbreaking , all you have to do now is wait it out and don’t give up on each other your love is stronger. may I know what lawyer you filled with?
  4. hello, My Fiance filled out k1 petition on Dec 13, 2021. Approved by USCIS on Mar 17, 2023. Transferred by NVC to the embassy on Jun 20, 2023. My interview was Sep 12, 2023. after that, I was put in Administrative processing and the embassy emailed the DS-5535 form to me, after some research online I found DS-5535 is extreme vetting and could take months to finish. I have seen encouraging cases of this AP done in two or three months and horrifying cases that took more than 17 months and the only way out for some people is A (writ of) mandamus which costs between $4k to $7k with a lawyer and also seen some people wasting that money and judge dismisses their case. I was wondering if anybody is going through this AP in Egypt for a k1 visa, please share your journey. thanks
  5. Hello, I wouldn't recommend it, I will wait until I get the visa in hand even if they say approved on interview day. I read about two recent experiences with our embassy but it was a marriage visa In the first case, they took almost 6 months in the administrative processing stage. In the second case their interview was July 12, 2023 they told them approved on interview day, but when they checked it stayed refused on ceac website until they contacted the senator on July 19 and got issued on August 3rd I am doing my medical next week, please let me know how it is when you finish your interview
  6. Congratulations on getting approved, if you don't mind me asking, do you know how much does it cost for the medical in Egypt? thanks
  7. thank you for your reply. I have a question about the medical appointment, does the embassy book it and send it with packet 4 email? or we book the appointment ourselves by calling the hospital after we get the interview date?
  8. good to hear that, my status changed to ready today, I am hoping for a reply tomorrow for the CIB payment is the visa fee currently $265 and is paid in Egyptian pounds EGP 8745 according to current exchange rates you need to generate a DEPOSIT SLIP through creating account on https://www.ustraveldocs.com/eg/ and selecting new application and follow the instructions to access the payment slip please note that you will need to do the DS160 before generating the slip as they will ask you to add the application ID you can read more information on their website about paying the fees https://www.ustraveldocs.com/eg/eg-niv-paymentinfo.asp I am confused about this part because after paying and entering the Receipt Number we should be able to select interview appointment date, but according to previous people on this forum the embassy should give you interview date and time on packet 4 email together with medical instructions, I can't see beyond this page so I don't know if we are able to schedule our interview date or not, please let me know
  9. hello, previous people went through Egypt embassy, they said the embassy will not contact you, you need to send them an email to get packet 3 instructions from them as @Mahmir said you need to send an email to cairoiv@state.gov asking for further instructions. my papers are on route to the embassy still not ready yet, I sent them an email yesterday but still no response, let me know if they respond to you
  10. NOA2: Mar 17, 2023 NVC received: June 5, 2023 Case Number: June 16. 2023 NVC Left: June 20, 2023 the welcome letter sent to the petitioner and beneficiary emails
  11. NOA2: Mar 17, 2023 NVC received: June 5, 2023 Case Number: June 16. 2023 At NVC
  12. hello, we are doing K1 too, approved Mar 17, NVC received June 5, waiting case number
  13. the first page was a bit different from yours our K1 journey so far applied: Dec 13, 2021 approved: Mar 17, 2023 NVC received: June 5, 2023 waiting case number
  14. yes we did that got this translation and authentication from the consulate of Egypt in Chicago, it was two years ago back in 2021, yes our worked too for USCIS cuz they approved our k1 with current divorce papers, I don't really know why people in Egypt didn't accept it, maybe when you will go you will find more understandable people in the ministry of justice
  15. it wasn't accepted by the Ministry of justice in Egypt because the title says decree of dissolution of marriage instead of final decree
  16. hope his mom gets better, and good luck with your marriage
  17. that is the divorce papers provided by the city that I currently have and Egypt didn't accept do you know if the final divorce decree is different from this one?
  18. hello ma'am I was following your case since I am doing a k1, your interview was Mar 17, may I know how was your experience with the interview? we actually tried to marry in Egypt instead of doing a k1, but ministry of justice refused the American divorce papers saying it isn't final decree, that's why we went the k1 way instead. we were able to get a date for the appointment to get marriage affidavit by accessing the website many times to look for a date, sometimes another person cancels his appointment, we were able to book an appointment this way, but any opening gets booked very fast my fiance got her marriage affidavit for $50 paid at the embassy https://evisaforms.state.gov/acs/default.asp?postcode=CRO&appcode=1
  19. I think it's better to get advice from the embassy so you should contact them Email: consularcairoiv@state.gov (not sure if email still works) Online Contact form: https://eg.usembassy.gov/visas/contact-us/ on online contact form k1 is inside immigrant visa form
  20. I think you can get the bilingual birth certificate from a Civil Registry office "السجل المدني" or ministry of health offices even now you can get it from some shopping malls in Egypt but I will get it from a civil registry when my interview time comes I found this website which mention the places you can get it https://www.fe-khidmitik.com/2022/07/2022_18.html for Alex this website say the location is "سجل مدني المديريه القديمه بمنطقه أبو الدرداء بمحافظه الاسكندريه" I don't know how accurate it is as locations in Egypt keep changing but the location that website says for my area is accurate I also found this inside the forum if you wanna read it
  21. I think that's the correct form also found on second step of travel.state.gov steps https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html#5 I also think it's better to read the official instructions pdf for filling this form alongside with any videos cuz the videos maybe outdated https://www.uscis.gov/i-134 https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-134instr.pdf
  22. @Mahmir @M&HH can you please help Laura and Taha? the family record/register I think it's called in Arabic "قيد عائلي" any document in Arabic must be translated
