  1. My daughter was born in the Philippines and we applied CRBA for her.My husband is American born in Germany. So he grew up in Germany, studied there. The 5years Physical presence we submitted at the Manila US Embassy was his military history of assignments/DD-214 when he was in the Army, his tax transcripts during his military days up to the present time of the CRBA application, his W-2's,GED,College transcript, pay stubs, and bank statements

We also submitted his old and current US Passport.

My daughter was approved without DNA and we were not married yet when we filed the CRBA application.I was on K1 that time.

    Hope it helps.

    Good luck!

  2. Update:

    Got email today!!!

Application Type: CRI89 , PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On October 14, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Is this mean they sent my 10yrs greencard already?Which comes first?Card production or Approval Letter?

I haven't got any mail yet.We just moved out of state 3 weeks ago and did change of address October 12 with the USCIS customer service representative on the phone..She gave me confirmation number that she updated my address on their system because I have a pending application and yesterday we sent the completed change of address form by mail.

  3. I don't think they will request for DNA test for your second baby since you didn't had a problem with your first baby's CRBA.I think it will be more easier...just submit all the required documents written in the checklist and after all, your kids have the same father so no worries.

My daughter's CRBA was approved without DNA and me and my husband wasn't married that time yet and I didn't encounter any problem.

Some people even they have complete documents were requested for DNA because they want to make sure that the US citizen parent is the biological dad/mom of the applicant.

So you have to satisfy them with your proof of relationship, especially during the time of your conception of your baby..not only the complete documents for U.S. Physical presence of the father.

  4. Hello, peeps.

We're getting ready to send in our I-485 application, but still have to wait for hubby's August pay stub and my daughter and I have to get our Philippine medicals transcribed into the I-693 form for signing and sealing.

There are three civil surgeons here in Tallahassee, FL, and the first one I spoke is charging $150 per person (Impact Clinic on Capital Circle NE)...is this a reasonable fee? Your inputs would be appreciated.

    Kaye and Rick

Hi,we live down here sa Tallahassee. When we did my AOS,we went to Dr.Sampson.He charged me $25 only for trancribing my vaccination form to I-693.Yun lang ang binayad ko sa kanya..that time meron ako need na vaccine yung HPV #2 kc yung St.Lukes first shot lng binigay sken..so hndi sila tumatanggap ng health insurance for immigration purposes pero in-advice nya kami ng hubby ko na punta sa Patients First para dun i-take yung 2nd shot ko for HPV para magamit nmin insurance..I paid $20 for the co-pay sa Patients First then binigay na ni Dr. Sampson saken yung sealed envelope ng I-693..so total we spent $45 lang.I explained to him at first na ang gusto ko lang i-transcribed sa form I-693 yung vaccination form ko from St.Luke's.Sinabi ko sa kanya na i don't need to re-do medical again kasi valid for 1 year ang medical ko from Pinas...so ang sinabi nya ay need ko yung 2nd shot ng HPV which I did.Yun lang po.

Btw,san ka po dito sa Tallahassee???

  5. Hi VJ Peeps!

We are planning to apply for AOS within the next couple of months, and I have been trying to search for an answer to my question about naming convention.

Say for example, my current married name is Jennifer Jane Mendoza Jones.

    Where:

    - Jennifer Jane is considered my first name (in the Philippines)

    - Mendoza refers to my father's family name/ my maiden name

    - Jones refers to my husband's family name

Note: I already have an approved EAD and a SSN in American format: Jennifer Jones On my EAD and SSN application, I filled up the forms using the following format: First Name: Jennifer, Middle Name: Jane, Family Name: Jones

But when we first applied for I-130 and I-129F (my daughter Pippo and I were K3/K4 applicants before the category was dissolved), on my forms we used the Philippine naming convention, First Name: Jennifer Jane, Middle Name: Mendoza, Family Name: Jones.

Which naming convention should we use on my I-485 and G-325A?

The American naming convention (First Name: Jennifer, Middle Name: Jane, Family Name: Jones), or

the Philippine naming convention (First Name: Jennifer Jane, Middle Name: Mendoza, Family Name: Jones)?

Your responses would be so helpful. Would hate to get any RFEs at this stage in the process...or worse any kind of hiccup when we eventually apply for naturalization.

    Thanks!

    Kaye and Rick

Mine I used and follow the Philippine Way.For example my maiden name before was Dawn D. Agustin. Now that I'm married: I'm using Dawn Agustin Smith.

My SSN,EAD,Greencard, bank account, driver license and etc., all of them appears Dawn Agustin Smith.

Hope it helps kahit late na response ko :)

  6. im learning a lot of things about crba cz my husband is planning to apply for our youngest daughter...buti na lng mga pinay very accomodating dami ko naintindihan ngyon about crba salamat sa inyo lahat..anyway nag reready pa lng kmi for the crba nabasa ko nga na needed i submit ang ultrasound records ng baby un ang problem ko ngayon wala na kong ultrasound records nya 3 yrs old na kc sya and after i gave birth to her ilang beses na kmi naglipat ng bahay..anu kayang maganda gawin dun? pwede ba na humingi na lng ako ng affidavit from my OB? or since CS delivery naman sya pwede akong kumuha ng copy ng medical records pwede ba un? hinanap ko na kc ung ultrasound wala tlaga ih...

Naitabi mo nman prenatal book.record mo di ba?Kung wala, hingi ka na lng ng medical records mo kung san ka nanganak ng may pirma ng OB mo tpos hingi ka din certification from your OB na katunayan sya nagpa-anak sayo.

  7. hi bluemist!!!! know what i saw one of your post on another thread with your ym id.. i was tempted to copy it and send you a message sa ym.. hehe..pero parang impolite ata na kunin ko lang without your permission.. so thank you for replying to my post... about my son's birthc ertificate.. yun did sana balak namin.. i already sent the birthcirtifcate to my fiance so he could sign at the back and he return it to me.. the civil registrar in BUtuan wont accept it though. kc gusto nila ang ama nang bata nag sworn sa harap nila.. kaya i have to wait for him to come over.. sabi daw ng iba.. like dito sa negros... ok lang sa kanila na ang tatay nag pirma kahit wala dito... sighz.. so when he arrived last May 2010.. we went to Butuan and had that birth cert done.. then fly to manila to have my interview.. yep only to be told that everything seems ok with my papers they only need to have my son's CRBA... i got our son's NSO birth cert last 2 weeks... then immediately went to cebu for the filing.. yea.. im gonna have to call them and ask if they forward it. if people n cebu told me that they did can i call the USEM and ask them to hasten the process coz my visa is pending? i remember the consular on my interview told us to inform them once i filed the crba already..

    thanks for the help... =)

If sinabi na nila sayo na na-forward na nila..call the American Citizens Services/USEM to ask kung nareceive na ba nila yung CRBA application ng anak mo from Cebu kasi kamo wala ka pa rin nare-receive na call for appointment..kc may appointment yan eh yung personal appearance ng anak mo pati ikaw kc interbyuhin ka.

  8. I have filed COA already for 4 times since I had to stay in other state for my work purposes. Every time you move and settle to a new place, you have to change your address if you are a GC holder.

You have 10 days to file the COA upon your arrival in the new address.

Right!!! .For GC holder you have to do your COA or AR-11 online within 10days of moving..for the petitioner,he/she need to print and fill up I-865 form and mail it to the service center which covers your state within 30days.

I been doing this for like twice now since we moved to a new place.

  9. apply for CRBA since you were a USC already when they were born.We filed CRBA for my daughter too out of wedlock. What my fiancee did (husband now) when he filed K1 for me,he included our daughter's name to accompany just in case her CRBA wont get approve.Anyways,my daughter's CRBA got approved.

All you need to provide is proof of your relationship from meeting the first time until present. You need to provide proof of your domicile here in the US too for 5years before your kids was born. You can use your military records, old tax returns if u still have it,if not, request tax transcripts from IRS..its free, old bank statements, etc.,

About your Phil.passport got lost..you can go to BI to request record showing the month/date/years you stayed in the Philippines, also your college transcripts will work.Just submit everything you have.

The most important that you need to complete is your proof of physical presence here in the US..make sure its 5yrs of evidence after your 14th bday or 5years before your kids was born and proof pf physical presence in the same location which is proof of your relationship from the first time until the conception to the present time.Im sure you guys have tons of pictures together,emails/chats,letters to each other, etc.

If you are not going to file for CRBA and just go for I-30..by the time of the interview..the consul will ask you/your wife if you were a USC already before your kids was born, then he/she will tell you to do the CRBA...that happened to some VJ members...they didnt know about CRBA so they filed I-30,I-129F and then the consil told them to do the CRBA first before they will release the visa.

So If I were you,do the CRBA first just like what we did.I didnt scheduled my interview yet after we got my K1 approval because we wanted to finish my daughter's CRBA first. And it was a smooth and easy process.

I hope everything will go smooth for you as well.

  10. im confused.. i called the consular office in cebu (im filing it here coz its just near and we would not need to set an appointment) about when will i receive my son's CRBA and passport after filing.. and the assistant said about 4-6 weeks.. but then i was told by a friend that it would only be about 2 weeks.. i need help from people who already file for CRBA or who knows about it..

and another thing.. i am not married to my son's father yet and we filed for K1.. will they always ask for paternity test if the child was born out of wedlock??

Hi ranz.mae, make sure na pinorward ng consular office dyan sa cebu yung crba application ng anak mo sa US Embassy sa Manila kc yung sa Manila mismo ang nagpa-process.Anyways,marami dito sa VJ na nakasabay ko noon sa CRBA na taga Visaya pa at Mindanao..sinunod lng din nila kung pano yung step by step na yung Air21 ang magsend ng forms sa kanila then pick up ng Air21 yung CRBA application then mismong Air21 na yung magdeliver nun sa US Embassy..yup magastos sa pamasahe kc kinailangan pa nila magbiyahe at magstay sa Manila for the appointment pero alam ko ganun talaga yun eh.

Nag-CRBA din kc ang anak ko and that time di pa kmi kasal ng asawa ko nun, bale kaka-approved lng ng K1 ko nun pero di muna ako nagpa-sched ng interview at di pa ako nagpamedical nun kc gusto muna nmin matapos yung CRBA ng anak ko..at the same time naka-add din name ng anak ko sa K1 petition ko nun just in case na hndi ma-approve yung CRBA nya eh makakasama ko pa rin sya umalis as K2.But thanks to God smooth nman process ng CRBA ng anak ko at na-approved sya without DNA test and all in all process from submitting the application to receiving her US passport at CRBA certificate ay 1 month lng.

Syanga pala, wala din yung asawa ko nung time na nanganak ako, bale pinadala ko na lng sa knya dito sa US yung birthcertificate para pirmahan nya sa likod bago ko pina-register sa civil registrar samen sa Olongapo then sinend nya saken pabalik yung birthceritificate tpos pina-rehistro ko na.We filed for my daughter's CRBA nung 2yrs old na sya. Then after ko mareceived yung passport nya at CRBA cert. saka ako pina-sched ng asawa ko ng interview date then nagpamedical na ako.Tapos nung time ng interview ko,inask lng ng consul kung ok na ba CRBA anak ko..I said yes tpos hinanap lng yung passport at CRBA cert. ng anak ko so ayun pinakita ko lng then ok na..after 4days nun received ko na visa ko.

Good luck sayo and hopefully maayos na yung sa baby mo bago pa interview mo..kc di nila i-release visa mo hanggat di tapos ang CRBA ng baby mo.

  11. hi treefrog,my daughter was born in the Philippines and yes she is automatically dual citizen. But if your child was born here in the US,you have to report the birth of your child to your Philippine Consulate but the filipina mother need to be filipino citizen at the time of birth,If she been naturalized to became US citizen, your wife needs to do the dual citizenship for her and she can include the child's name on her dual citizenship application so the child will become dual citizenship as well.Check your Philippine Consulate website about dual citizenship,it is written there.

You only need to do the Report of Marriage if your wife wants to use her married name to her passport. She cannot use her married name which is your surname/last name in her passport if she didnt do the Report of Marriage.

Check the website of the Phil.Consulate that covers your state, all the requirements are in there..you can do Report of Marriage by mail also Report of Birth of the child.

  12. Thanks for reply...just want to ask you if you did Register your Marriage at nearest Phil.consulate?what are the requirements..and is it REQUIRED?

    Any info.would help.

  13. What if you are a former filipino citizen?( became foreign citizen through naturalization) because i have heard that only those filipino parent/parents at the time they give birth can have their baby's dual citizenship. Is there any other option we can do to have our kids become dual citizen???

  14. U have to report the birth of your child first if you haven't report it yet in order for your child to apply for a Philippine passport. The report of birth form is on the website of the Philippine Embassy in Chicago, also the requirements.Certified copy means with seal.I think you can go to Department of Health in your city to get a certified copy of your child's birthcertificate. For the certified copy of marriage certificate, you have to go the the place where you got married to ask for a certified copy.We got married at the clerk of courts office here in our city so that's where we have to go to get a certified copy of our marriage certificate..

For passport photos, you dont have to worry about that anymore. You dont have to bring photos anymore since they now have the ePassport. They will be the one to take a photo of the applicant using their computer. You just have to fill up and print the ePassport application form from their website.

For the self addressed return envelope, since you are doing the application for passport for your wife and child at the same time, you only have to include one but to make sure, call the Philippine Embassy in Chicago to ask if need separate return envelope or one is enough for both.

Philippine Embassy of Chicago's website is not updated yet not like the website of the main Philippine Embassy in Washington,DC..but you can go to the website of Phil.Embassy in Washington,DC and just click "Consulate" and select Chicago, scroll down and you will see "Visa-Passport-Legal" and select one of the category their that you want to see.Example: Passport

  15. Hi Cath, exempted na anak mo for travel tax kc US citizen/dual citizen.
