All banks are after one thing from you.(no prizes)
The thing to do is find a bank that suits your need best. I need to ditch Nat west too.

The good thing about Soy milk is that it doesn`t have all the added hormones and pus. Added to this that human beings are not designed to digest cow`s milk(oddly it is designed for calves). Since Soy milk is not really milk you will find also that they all taste different to other milks and different to each other. the same goes for Veggie burgers. Again the positives are that they are healthier. Meat is an acquired taste i think. As people are brought up to eat it they develop that taste. Losing the taste for meat or milk therefore isn`t always easy and really depends on you not wanting to eat it. Once you lose your taste for meat or dairy then eating meat or drinking cow`s milk will enduce the same sorts of negative reactions in you. These have been my thoughts on soy and meat.

Thanks for the info. I will be travelling there on Monday. I am looking forward to getting the business out of the way.

I heard it is easier to pass in the US. Is this true? I have never driven in the U.K. but it seems unavoidable in GA.
As you have never driven in the UK, then you might find it easier here, cos your not used to driving on the other side of the car or the road............The driving bit in my brain gets confused by this
Well apart from ten lessons a long time ago i have not driven in the u.k. I actually work as a "pusher" for a left hand drive road sweeper. I sit on the right and people often think i am the driver. I get confused as a passenger changing from one country to the other. Hopefully i can pass quickly as i need to drive for work it seems. I also want to learn how to drive under the influence as i see Georgia has DUI schools.

Thank you very much. I can`t seem to find anything with the search function. For instance i searched chicken pox and found threads about chicken poop.
Getting to the medical will be a big test for me as i am useless at travelling to London. I have no idea how long it will take me but i am like you in that i won`t want to be remotely close to being late. On the other hand i will hate beign early.

yabasta,
Do you have a job waiting? Know your employer?
No i don`t have an employer but i will have a sense of urgency in finding one even if i have to take a crappy job to begin with. Going weeks without an SS number is going to be tough going financially speaking aswell. Somebody said it doesn`t happen at the click of my fingers but i think it should be pretty much straight away. Number vacant number used. Not rocket science. Should not have expected anything to be easy though at this stage..

Thanks a lot. I appreciate that. The Embassy emailed me today to say that they resent the Packet 4 information to me so hopefully this time i get it.

Hi
My situation is pretty tough because i will need to work as soon as possible after entering the U.S. I understand some people have had to wait and then reapply for a SS card. I wonder if you get a number straight away in such cases and if you can actually work with the number only in that case? Do employers usually want the actual card or will they understand that there is a process to go through?
I am after any information regarding this as i am doing the CR1 pretty much because i want to work straight away and i hope this does not cause problems for me. I know it will be financially tight to begin with but i need to earn asap.
thanks in advance

Ok Q.22 Last 10 years employment. I had several part time jobs do I need to list them as well? I cant be sure of accurate dates from 10 years ago...
Also I worked for 4 days in Germany about 7 years ago through a temping agency.. I have no idea what the name of the company was.....
Is all this required ?.....
I agree with Yabasta.
That is a rare thing

Are you the only sponsor?

If you will soon be in America i would start the process with the address you will have on returning to America. The sooner you get things started the better. If you can wait the first part in England it will reduce the time apart that this process inevitably includes.
Good luck.

I would do your best to include all your jobs but if you did something for a few days i would not worry too much. The main worry might be if you have a big gap they might wonder why it is there. I would say do your best to account for the time.

The chip should nto effect the ATM though so you should be able to just get cash and spend that. I would suggest somebody with a non chipped card performs an experiment for all non chipped people.

thanks a million. I would be bad enough finding the place with a map but hopefully your directions are easy enough even for me. Hopefully the tube station only has one exit.
-
For file number i believe you put NONE(unless you have one) and i believe the address would depend on the visa you want to do. How long is left on your visa for here? Have you looked into DCF?
-
The dates are often fairly useless to go by but it gives you something to do while you wait. Good luck everybody. I hope you hear soon.

Just wondering because i have managed to book my medical for next monday but i dont have my packet 4 so i have no map and no other details. The medical place was reluctant to even give me the appointment but i managed to get one.
The problems i have are that people seem to have been to different places. The medical tales that are pinned in this forum do not seem to be Basil Street and so i wondered if anybody could shed any light on this and pass on their experiences etc.
Hopefully it is nearly the end of my journey and then i will stop asking questions. Thanks for all your help so far though.
It seems easy enough to find Basil Street fromt he Knightsbridge Tub eStation so i will hopefully navigate the Underground easily enough aswell.

Yes we all carry the mark here in the U.K. now. I found it odd that it had not reached America yet but i am sure it is coming. Just be sure to resist them if they want you to put one in your body.
Did anybody have their medical at Basil Street?

Did you book it really early or are you a month late?
