same with us. Cannot believe why the bells did not ring during the NVC processing stage that they act this way. Our applications was with NVC for 3 yrs and they could have easily done all checks rather the passing the buck to the embassy.

When was the last Update date change ? You had a couple of updates after you sent DS5535 which is common. Are there any recent updates like this week.

Hi Shawn, Same here...we had our interview a couple of weeks back and with the same DS5535. The CO did mention that it should be processed sooner than a few months and as the medicals may expire in a few months. I also have a common name which triggered DS5535. Hoping it finishes soon. Cheers!.

Its an observation based on the information from other sources(Fb groups). It is obviously case by case basis.

Recent applicants who had interview are receiving the DS5535 with passports in their 221g. The DS5535 might be quick check for some applicants depending on where they have resided in last 15 years or so. Will you be sending your passport with DS5535 ?

As we know, the medicals are sent electronically so the link looks like a fyi incase you have any additional documents. I dont think you need to worry about it. Once your medicals are accepted, they will send you a passport request which will require the courier service.

In the recent 221g documents they are asking documents with passport and if there is DS5535 then you also get an email.with questions which needs to be sent..

Hi..you should send an email to check regarding the email. One of the members in the forum had the same situation where they had to contact regarding the email because they CO forgot to send it. And upon enquiring after a few weeks, the email was sent again. Just sharing what i read earlier.

Based on the information shared in this forum, more recent applicants(in March) have been receiving passports mentioned in 221g white slip with other documents. I have not seen other applicants in this forum mentioning that they have received a passports mentioned in their 221g. The CO we interviewed with mentioned us that there is no point in keeping the passports as of now as it may just be stacked or stored and it is better we send the passport later. It can also be a case by case strategy where they request passport in 221g.

I understand DS5535 and have gone through the complete forum. So cannot agree with you on this as the CO mentioned it during the interview to send it together. The CO mentioned in the 221g to send the requested information and the passport. Will keep it positive.

Hi @Selfmade The reason i mentioned is because we were in the same situation where the CO said that she cannot keep passport but would require it with the rest of the documents. Hoping it is for all the right reasons. Thanks.

Hi..What would be the negative if the passport is sent ? as it is clearly mentioned in the 221g to send the passport with other documents. Also i see @Selfmade has also sent his passport with the 221g document request. I am just trying to make sense of things.
