  1. I. Question 1, Part B ---> My fiance's middle/patronymic name, "Vladimirovich", is too long. And can't change font size. What to do?

Put "See attached" and on your attachment list his full name.

II. Q. 3a, Part B. ---> My Vasya was born born in Leningrad, USSR, but, as we all know, the original

name, Saint-Petersburg, has been reinstated. But should I put 'Leningrad,

USSR' since that's what it reads on his passport (i think both ones) and that

is what it was named when he was born, or should I just write the present

city? (feeling like an idiot for not knowing this!)

Either will be fine. Probably best to put the city he was born in, Leningrad.

III Q. 3b, Part B ---> 'Russia' or 'Russian Federation'?

    Either is fine.

IV Q. 15, Part B ---> Should I fill in the "state or province" section? If so, would I

write 'Leningradskaya oblast' or 'Leningrad Region'?

    Either is fine.

    V. Q. 15-16, Part B ---> Please tell me if the English format coincides correctly w/ the Russian format:

    ул. Будапештская дом 104/2 кв.76

Budapeshtskaya Street, Bldg. 104/2 apt.76 (?correct format?)

I think that is correct, yes.

Thank you sooo much people! I know i'm being really #######, but I hate beauracracy and am SERIOUS about not doing this process more than once! Thanks again!

    Don't sweat it. :)

  2. Yes, so i am seriously breaking the record for most repetitive/irritating questions...so sorry everyone, especially if they been asked a billion times before!

    Ok, here they are:

Questions all pertain to I-129f Petition

  3. Thanks everyone for your input! I know, I don't even really know where to start "planning" a wedding anyways! However, I've read/heard that by giving a date (estimated or whatever), the k1 petition and/or application can can be taken more serious and will have a greater chance of being approved... (???) This is probably total BS, though, right? I can't imagine them really expecting any of us to set a date (tentative or not!) when they can't even tell us when which month the visa will be finalizes, or if it even will be finalized....

  4. 1. My girl [Masha] has lost her vaccinations records (organized she is not...). Will she have to get all the shots again?

    2. She has a history of health problems and she is afraid to get new shots. I know these are not required for the K-1 visa, but they are for the AOS. Is there a way for USCIS to forgive the shots?

Here's what I did in the same situation. I went to the children's clinic in my home town to which my school was attached, and asked if they could help me recreate my vaccinations history. The head of the clinic turned out to be a very understanding and cooperative lady and she quickly filled out a typical vacc. report for me, in English! Immunization shots were uniformly administered to all school kids back then, so she just wrote down a typical vaccinations history for a person my age, with years and all. And since I did not have rubella shots (they were not given before 2001), she had a nurse give it to me on the spot, for free!

Thank you so much for this tip! We'll definitely look into this :)))

  5. Hi again guys!

What would be a good estimated tentative wedding date to mark down? I will be sending the I129f stuff to the Vermont Service Center by Apr. 1, my fiance's embassy is in Russia...

I am just interested in what you would put down as a date of intended wedding

Thank you so much--seriously don't know what we'd do if it weren't for this amazing site!

  6. I have experienced the SAME frustration! For me, the years also don't in the slot, so it will say 200+ intstead of 2008. I found a computer that has the latest version of adobe and so everything fits fine, but when I send it to my fiance for him to print out- he prints it and the + sign shows up!! So annoying, so I'll just be writing (really small) the years and my home city.

    Cool, thanks!

Yeah he has the latest Adobe PDF version (and so do I), but there's still this problem.. I'll tell him to just hand-write it then if the problem pursists.

It is ok to handwrite, though???

  7. Hi everyone!

I feel ridiculous asking this question, but me and my fiance are both a bit stumped :help:

My fiance is filling out the G-325A bio form (typing it up online and will then print it out, sign and send to me) and when he gets to "applicants residence of 5 years" section he cannot fit in the entire name of his city (Saint-Petersburg)---it goes "Saint Petersb+"

    What is this +-sign?

    What should he do?

What have others done in this situation that worked?

Did I miss something in the instructions about this???

Thanks so much and the best of luck to everyone!!!

  8. Thank you SOOO much! That was the fastest response I think I've ever gotten to anything! Wow! (F)(F):D

So, for my question #2, I will end up having 8 pages (4 of from him and and for from me), right? And I submit all of them with the I-129F Petition?

Unless he has dealt with US immigration in some way before, he will not have an alien registration number.

Well, Vasya visited me this past Fall on a tourist visa, but this probably didn't "qualify" him to be given an "alien reg. number" since he came as a non-immigrant, right?

Again, thanks so much for your help! And excuse me for the repetitive, silly questions!

    :star: Anna

    HI guys,

I am sure these questions have been asked more than a million times here, but I have searched and searched and cannot come up with straight answers! Grrr....

    Here goes...:

    1. Being the US citizen/petitioner, am I supposed to fill out my fiance's biographical info myself and also sign it, or is he supposed to he fill it out, sign it, and send it via postal service to me??? Or, maybe, I fill everything out but the signaturet, send it to him to sign, and then he sends it back to me? ...You can tell I'm a bit los heret...

He will need to fill one out and sign it, then mail it (with passport style photos) to you.

    2. So... there are 4 copies (5 pages total including the pointless and stupidly unhelpful "Instructions" on the last page) in the G-325A packet... This is how I've understood it to be filled out and completed--- please please please tell me if I'm wrong!:

~Vasya's (my fiance) bio is filled out only once and my bio is written out three times--identical to each other .....?????

~And which page number is Vasya's info supposed to be on? Or maybe it doesn't matter???

You will each fill out all four pages of SEPARATE G-325A's. It seems redundant but each page goes to a different department. If you fill it out using Adobe normally it will automatically fill in the other 3 pages after you've filled in the first one.

    3. What is the File Number "A" block in the top right-hand corner(s)? Am I supposed to write anything here? Should I know this already?

You do not know this number, enter N/A. You won't have a file number until you receive the NOA1 :)

    4. And in the bottom right-hand corners, what do I fill in for Alien Registration Number ? Obviously,I'm a citizen, so do I just write "none" or leave it blank? But what should Vasya fill in? (It seemsas if I completely missed this information...!!!) Is he supposed to have this number or something? (As far as he and I are aware of, he doesn't!)

Unless he has dealt with US immigration in some way before, he will not have an alien registration number. He will get this number when you receive your NOA2 (it'll list it above his name on the form.) Never leave anything blank, enter either N/A or none.

Ok, loves, that is all (for now anyways!)

Any and all help would be sooooooooooooo helpful!

Many, many, many thianks in advance!

  10. I just want to be sure that I'm not missing something pertinent!:blush::blush:

Don't worry at all on that score. Read the guide(s), use the search function, ask questions, and you're almost guaranteed to submit a bullet-proof packet. Best of luck to you!!

Thank you so much! I hope as a little time goes on with this process, my confidence about this whole process will be as solid as yours is! :D:D:luv:

I wish you much luck as well!

  11. Hi everyone!

I'm sorry if this question is off-topic, but I'm brand new at this and am struggling and need some advice...

Has anyone had experience using or purchasing a K-1 visa "kit"? If so, was it bad, good, worth it, a complete scam? Which one(s) did you use or try? And if it was helpful to you, where did you get (online, etc.)?

    Thanks so very much! :star::star::star:

  12. I just picked up Dermo! The Real Russian Tolstoy Never Used from Borders.

    An excerpt:

Flexibility is the trademark of Real Russian. In English, for exampe, words observe a certain etiquette and are placed in a sentence according to strict British norms of politeness. (i.e., the predicate never elbows its way ahead of the subject and the verb always bows down in deference before His Majesty, the noun). Russian, on the other hand, emulates its homeland, where chaos generally rules, and the word order in a sentence is dictated by nothing more than how the speaker is feeling that day. This is why four-letter words can appear anywhere in a sentence and sound natural and even indispensable if the emotion calls for it. In English, the following sentence would sound extremely odd: "I, ####, love, #######, you, b*tch, so much!" Does that sound like any declaration of love you've ever heard? But if I write in Russian, "I love you so much!" it strikes a false note or sounds ironic to the Russian ear. To lend this exalted phrase the convincing note of genuine love, I have to let it go slumming, or as they say in Russian, let it sink down to the level of дерьмо (der'mo--sh*t) and write "I, you, b*tch, so much love!" or more idiomatically, "I love you, b*tch, so much!"

It's a hysterical read, and you don't need to know a lick of Russian to enjoy it. OTOH, if you know even a little Russian, it's even funnier. Definitely a must-read to anyone who wants to talk dirty to his or her SO, wants to break up with his/her SO, or wants to get in a bar fight next time they're in Moscow. :D

Yeah, I bought this a few months ago but haven't read it yet. I think I'll have to---just to impress my boy and watch his eyes pop out of his head!! Haha! Needless to say, Russian "bad words" and slang were, unfortunately, some of the first words in that language I learned..)))))

  13. Good to know! Thanks!

It doesn't matter if you or the beneficiary work or not as long as you can prove adequate funds at interview time. If you do not have have that, you will need a co- sponsor. They want to see if you can meet or exceed the poverty level guidelines and support the beneficiary without having him / her become a public charge.
  14. Thanks so much for the info! This stuff is sooo confusing--not to mention anxiety-provoking! Good luck to you as well!

That's right! The petitioner has to follow poverty guidelines to find out if he/she needs to a co-sponsor or not. If your household is going to be only two people (husband and wife,) your annual income has to be $17,112 or more. A beneficiary, on the other hand, does not need to work and is not asked to show his/her income. (I'm not working now and haven't been working for a year - I'm a beneficiary; our I-129F petition was approved last week and I'm waiting for my visa interview in Ukraine now.)

So, these guidelines are for 2007. I don't think they've publish a new doc for 2008.

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR K1 JOURNEY:)!

  15. Hmmm... good point! Thanks!

My fiance does have a job presently (don't worry---I'm not really into marrying unemployed slacker guys from overseas! Lol :)))) ), however, due to some circumstances w/ the company he works for, he wants to quit and find new work. Therefore, it probably would be simpler to just to write it in as "unemployed" ...(???)

At this point, 100% no. Financial responsible is all on the USC. Now later in the game, it can change, if you want. The beneficiary's employment and income can be used as part of the 125% income requirement when you get to AOS.
  16. Hi everyone!

I'm a US citizen and am engaged to marry my fiance in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. He is a Russian citizen, born/raised there.

Where and how can I obtain a document/certification/anything that proves that I am single and have never been married/divorced?? I know that this type of "Eligibility to Marry" document is required to marry in Russia.

However, now I see that the USA doesn't have this type of document...!?! What should I do? Is there an alternative option acceptable in Russia (maybe they accept an affidavit of some sort)? What have other people done in similar situations? I need to acquire this document while still within the U.S., prior to coming to Russia. The State Dpt. sites, embassy sitrs, etc. are not much help at all and I am not sure what else to do. Any and all help, suggestions, advice is more than welcome. Thanks.

I should add that I have very little time before I leave the States, so I need to get this cleared up and finished ASAP!

    Thank you so much!

P.S. I apologize if you guys see this post elsewhere----I've cross-posted this in other forums/topics since I have such little time to get answers. :))))
