  1. I went through interview yesterday and they did not care that stuff at all.they just asked what is my profession and job now.I dont think they check things like that. All they want to see is the person does some smart job, they want new citizens to be educated..when i said i am a lawyer he loved it..So i dont think it might be a problem that you dont remember previous jobs..someone commented about police record.True i also advice to get it if needed from other countries, because it takes some time..

They are going to care about whatever they decide they are going to care about. You can bet your britches that if either the beneficiary or petitioner's last occupation abroad was Nuclear Physicist in Iran, they'll care. You just answer the questions accurately. The discussion is about how to do so.

Will they care if I (the USC) was a student abroad for more than 6 months within the last 5 years? Does being a student even count as "employment" or should I just write in "None" ??? Thank you!

P.S. I realize this thread started close to a year ago, but I am trying my luck with an answer to this from anyone!

  2. Ill take your advice and just sign and date it w/ the date he signed his form.... grrr! This is so stupid!

Now about my shiz... I would LOVE to omit my continuation page, ........ But maybe the USCIS won't care if it looks as if I've been sitting on my ### the past 5 years of my life????

    Good call on his G-325A.

USCIS won't care if it looks like you've been sitting on your @$ the last 5 years. It doesn't matter if you lived here for 4 months and then there for 2 months and then worked at this co-op or that co-op.

Look at it this way, first of all.... are they really going to track down every single place you've lived and verify it? Secondly, how the hell could they? You can barely do it! As far as your jobs... did you pay taxes at those jobs? When you went to school, what did you list as your address and when you worked, did the addresses of work, school, and home all match up? Probably not because life as a student/co-oper is always changing. Stick to a "home of record" (mom's house, first house in U.S., house you lived at longest or what is on W-2 if/when you paid taxes.... etc.) or pick the three houses/addresses you lived at the longest and list those. Same with your jobs. So what if you co-oped at some office for 3 months. You weren't paying taxes were you? I would probably just put "Student" as my one and only job the whole five years. That was your "primary" job, right?

Relax. This isn't an investigation into your past, just simply a way for them to verify you are who you say you are and he is who he says he is. List a few things that can all be verified by other govt. agencies (taxes, school records, etc.) and that's it. Keep it simple, smarty! (KISS!)

You are so right..! I am being ridiculous about this petition process! I really am over-thinking this whole job thing! I guess I have read almost too much info on these forums...some people say that their initial petition weighed a pound when they shipped it off (which started me thinking just how much info these guys had collected and if it is all necessary) whereas others seemed to have sent just the bare minimum (which got me scared of getting an RFE or something)... So, I guess I should just stop over analyzing and being paranoid and send this thing in, like, NOW! :hehe::whistle::dance:

Thanks so much for helping me out, being straight-up and putting me on the right track! I suppose I will just list my current employment and also write "student" in the box where I'll... For the "Student" thing, I think I'll just write in the last 2 school's I went to addresses. Hope that will satisfy USCIS! (But please tell me if you think otherwise or have a better idea  )

    Once again, thanks a million!

Спасибо за все! спасибо за помощь! Ты настоящий друг! (F)

  3. Thanks alot! I'm sorry you had to go back and look at some of my older posted things. Thanks though!

Hmmm... Ok, so with Vasya's g325a I prepared it after getting all his info and then emailed it to him to sign and send back. In it I listed his university (as in student being his employment) for one of the 5 years. And because the address didn't fit on the page I typed "See attachment"). SO basically I guess I will have to include the attachment ---unless we do it all over again--because we're wayyy too impatient at this point to take up more time. So, Ill take your advice and just sign and date it w/ the date he signed his form.... grrr! This is so stupid!

Now about my shiz... I would LOVE to omit my continuation page, but because I have moved around alot and been a student, everything is all disorganized in terms of simple employment. There's so many gaps and small time-frames so I decided to just attach a sheet since I run out of room by uear 2006! And I am including things like internships (paid and unpaid), training, student (past 5 years only), etc. but if I left all this stuff out I'd really look like I did nothing at all the past 5 years which is just not true! But maybe the USCIS won't care if it looks as if I've been sitting on my ### the past 5 years of my life????

  4. [/color] Wow! THank you SOOO much for your very detailed response! The people on this site never seize to amaze me.... *swoons* (L)(F)

ANYWAYS. I have just a few last things that perhaps you/someone could clarify....

    1. Do I need to make 4 copies of the attachment for the G325a (1 for each of the 4 pages) or is only 1 fine?

    2. Do I need to put the USCIS address at the top or does it not matter?

    3. And... I made an attachment page for Vasya's (my fiance) g325a, but I didn't have him sign it...actually, he didn't sign anything but that form and the letter of intent.... is this ok do you think?

OK! Enough questions! I'm making myself --and all around me--- mad with my uncertainty and nervousness about this whole ordeal!

Again, thanks so so so much!

By the way, "Tverskaya-Yamskaya" sounds just enchanting -- a definite must-see next time i'm in Moscow... shutka ;) And, argh, Sbarro...noooo!

ANYWAYS. A few last things maybe you can clarify for me:

    -Anna

    :star: :star: :star:

You should set it up as -

"Continuation Page, Form G-325A for XXXXXXova, Anna S."

Then you can write something like -

    "Employment History, continued -"

    1998 - 2003 Moscow Import Agency, 3254 Leningradski Shosse, +7 095 325-987, Trausury Secretary

    1994 - 1998 Sbarro Pizza, 890 Tverskaya-Yamskaya, +7 095 245-684, Hostess

    etc. etc. etc.

For the other form, you can label it as -

"Continuation Page, Form I-129 for XXXXXXova, Anna S."

#18 (cont.) - XXXXX XXXX XXXXX

At the bottom of the page, it should have your full name, passport #, and petitioner's name (and social/passport) as well. Ensure you sign and date the bottom of the page. It's not necessary to get it notarized, apostilled, etc. Just make sure your personal info is on it and it's signed. Also, attach it to the other forms (paper clip them together) and make sure it can be readily identified just in case someone drops all your papers on the floor.

I did basically the same thing as above and it worked out quite well. Ensure whenever you make a continuation page for any govt. form you label it the same way the original form is labeled and your answers look similar to what is in the original form. Example-

    if the original lists

    Name, Address, Phone Number

then your continuation page should look like

    Name, Adress, Phone Number

They should look at your continuation page and have no trouble understanding what it is and what it corresponds to. Keep it as close to the original as possible. (It's actually very simple. Just make sure all the info is on there and sign and date it.)

Good luck, and remember, once this is done, you can send it in and you're officially started!

  5. Hi guys!

    Quick question....

Is there a specific format/lay-out I need to type for attached pages? Precisely, the extra page I need to add pertaining to my employment history on the G-325a and also for the Question 18 on the I-129f...

What did other people's look like that were successful? Header? Any addresses? Sub header? Etc.?

By the way, this is in regards to the I-129a Petition (for K1).

    Thanks so much!

  6. Thank you so much!

And good luck to you too!

for the living abroad: if you left for russia for 10 months i would put it in as my address for those months, it might not be permanent, but you were living there, and i assume you registered even if you only studied. i dont think it's necessary to put in short trips (assuming you meant short trips)

as for the pictures, i dont know if it'll work in your situation, but we too lost all of our pictures of the beginning of the relationship because the hard drive crashed, so when we started collecting our evidence of relationship we emailed all the people we knew back when me met, asking for pictures w/ the 2 of us in. (people who study abroad tend to take a load a pictures, and hang out with other exchange students who take just as much pictures, so we ended up with more than enough evidence in the end.)

but ofcourse, you only need those at interview stage... hope that helps...

your visa put's you in Russia, so you should be set for the evidence of meeting.

Last irriations before I mail in the petition...

Last year I lived abroad (Russia) for 10 months (I had an internship and went to University while there)... Is it necessary to include this since it was neither my permanent address nor did I live there for 12 months or more?

And does the question about working abroad apply to me even though it was an internship for study-not pay? Should I just leave it blank?

I also stayed in Russia a few times prior to the last time, though they weren't quite as long...I probably can just leave those out, right?

And, though my fiance and I lived together for the 7 months out of the 10 I was there for, I don't know if there's any "real/official" evidence of this. Ideas? Only I signed the initial rent contract and we always paid in cash--In fact everything we did together was always paid with cash--- which brings me to another question...

I am afraid we are really lacking in serious evidence to prove our relationship, even though we've been together for almost 2 years! Minimum romantic/kissy pictures to show after having my hard drive die in Nov. 2007. We never used credit cards when we went out or bought anything together ---- most everything is usually always expected to be paid in cash since credit cards are normally a hassle there or are simply not accepted as a form of payment. I mean, twice, I had flights from back to the USA that was paid with in cold cash! So...seeing that any other ideas I can use for the initial evidence to show that our relationship is "bona fide" and that we did live together? Maybe I should just send in all I have now and then (if more is required or am RFE'd) have my fiance track down our old landlady to write a statement about us living together, etc.? would this work? And we do have copies of each other's boarding passes/visa stamps/etc. from when we visited in one another's country...

Sorry for the dumb questions and for rambling on and on--- I'm just really nervous! Plus it completely sucks having spent practically every day and night with my fiance for close to a year yet having little to nothing to legally show for it! :crying: Grr... I mean, why would we write emails to each other when we lived together?

Thanks so much everyone and, again, I apologize for these repetitive questions!!!

    Anna

Thanks so much! And I wish you good luck as well!

At this stage you just need to show that you met - you can say - we lived together for xx months. You don't need anything more I think. Hopefully you do have some pics (I only sent two pics of us together - thats all we had). The proof of relationship comes in at the interview stage - if you go with her to the interview - then you don't need anything then either. Good Luck

  8. I am about to send off the I-129f petition, however the job history part on the g325a is holding me back...

    1. I have been a student, full time and part time. I know this isn't literally employment, but would it be OK to write this in instead of stating "None"? Or should I write "None"? (I don't want to give the impression that I did nothing for some 8+ months or whatnot!)

    2. Same question as above about having had 2 different internships (unpaid).

    3. Also, when I am not working at my normal job, I work at an art gallery (mainly weekends). I get paid in cash for this and have never filed it on my taxes since the gallery doesn't re have an "official" payroll (it's a co-op). Should I include that I work there or is this bad since it doesn't show up on my W2's, etc.? Do they verify employment by looking at tax records or what? I want to include it because when I have been in school and/or unemployed, it's been a substantial part of my income, but I don't want to cause any, um, trouble.... help?

What would you do? Or has anyone had similiar situations?

Thanks so much for any advice given!

  9. Ok, back in January 2005 I got arrested for DUI (I was sitting in my car with the engine running to keep warm while waiting for my friend to pick me up...!?!). :bonk: Fortunately, I was able to get the DUI lowered to "reckless driving" (i was just driving out of control that night..LOL!) and had to complete a 10 week Alcohol Safety class, which i successfully did. I was suspended from driving for 2 months in the state of Virginia (where I was arrested, etc.). However, I was/am a Maryland resident and the court order was never carried across the state lines, so I was legal to drive in all the 49 other states...just not VA. And VA never took away my Maryland license or anything...

My question: Do I need to disclose this info in the I129f, or in any other form for K1 visa application/petition as having committed a crime? If so, how big of a deal is this in terms of approval? Do they care about stuff like this or no? What do you suggest I do? The charge is kinda weird in itself since it is only a traffic violation but because alcohol was involved it was made it a misdemeanor traffic violation or something.

    Thanks so much!

P.S. My insurance/driving record never increased or changed because all that stuff is based in MD, my state, so, technically, I have a "perfect" driving record... except for (i guess) Virginia.

Are you the petitioner right? I don't remember some place in the form where they ask for "criminal records" from petitioner. So I don't think that you must include that. In this case they put their attention on the immigrant. Anyway you'll keep your proof that you complete the request related with your DIU if they would ask for in the future. Good luck

Yes, I am the petitioner. So sorry for leaving that important factor out!

I take it you are the petitioner. The answer is no then.

Which is kind of ironic if you ask me.......we could all be spouse beaters and they don't really care.

I'm the petitioner. And, by the way, I've wondered about that too!

  11. You're really paying for YOUR safety, not your fiancee's. Trust me. Despite the fact that it is very counterintuitive, a foreign man is a lot less safe in Russia than a foreign man. The worst thing to ever happened to a woman I know is being pickpocketed. The worst thing that ever happened to a guy I know? I can't even talk about it because it's too dangerous as the culprits are still at large. I also know guys who have had the #### kicked out of them for walking down the street. When I'm with American guys, we're followed by narcomen and drunks and harassed by police. None of this happens when I'm with Russian girls. I actually felt safer walking home alone at night in SPb than where I am now because there's so many places open 24 hours that I could go into if i felt like something was wrong. But obviously foreign men who seem like they might have some cash in their pockets? Walking target. Your women survived just fine relying on their street smarts before you ever came into the picture. Sure it's nice to treat them and all, but as far as risk aversion goes...

Sorry to bust into this thread but I just have to say I can't agree with you (Eekee) more here... The stories i have involving men (mainly foreign men, but one or two even involving Russian men) walking around, is quite horrifically extensive. The stories of girls walking around alone? Not so much. The only one I can think of is when my friend Masha was pick-pocketed while riding on the marshrutka rom Devyatkino. In my opinion, I'd be more worried about something happening to your girl while inside a club---and not as much outside of it. In Russia, looks can be very deceptive- and in every sense of the word. :crying:

  12. Well, i would think with Vasya, because otherwise you could have just hired random russians to be in the picture with you. :)

You guys are all so supportive and helpful---it's unbelievable that all the mundane questions I ask have not once been received by a snarky reply or whatnot. Thank you! And thanks for the info about what they seem to care about more in seeing...

...so, should I also include some pictures of me with his various family members even if Vasya is not in the photo? Or is it better that all pictures I give have us together?

I think throwing in a few with the family, even without him, is a good idea. It shows that at least you've met his family too and puts another piece of evidence into the "establishing a real relationship."

Regardless, I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. Women petitioning for men is almost a shoo-in because there's not a huge number of women here willing to sponsor a Russian man via K-1. If you've done it, then you must love him!

(F)(F)(F) Yeah, that's what I was getting at by showing pics with the family, etc!...Of course the important ones will be of him and I, but ones with his family can only be a plus! (and his cousins and brother look so similar, it's pretty obvious that I didn't just "get some Russian off the street"---but I realize even that is not "real" proof of anything in the USCIS eyes..)

    Thanks...err, spasibo bol'shoe! :D

  13. You guys are all so supportive and helpful---it's unbelievable that all the mundane questions I ask have not once been received by a snarky reply or whatnot. Thank you! And thanks for the info about what they seem to care about more in seeing...

  14. Ok, I apologize if this has been asked and answered before, but I cannot seem to find it...

Is there a certain way I must print all the documents being sent off for the K1 petition? One-sided, double sided (and if so, head-to-foot, or no?) With the support data like proof of emails, phone bills, etc., does USCIS prefer/need a certain format?

    Thanks so much! :hehe:

  15. If you told me what bars he frequents, i could tell you if they knew each other or not. :) do you mean "area" as in "russian men," "spb," or "being one of the only usc girls on the russia forum"?

Thanks! Oh that's great there's actually a GIRL here with a Russian GUY!!!!!! Starting to think I was the only one... :hehe: It's so funny because whenever I do any kind of search on K1 visas + Russia/an, it's always always always geared only for men abroad---not for females abroad---dealing with a/their Russian girl. It actually is quite annoying that the thought of a Russian guy being with a non-Russian doesn't even seem to cross anyone's mind. Ah well.

That's so cool your fiance also happens to live in SPB too...maybe they know each other .... :bonk: ... Any area-specific advice you can give me? I'm adding you as a friend--hope you don't mind!

  16. He got a shengen visa instead and we're in italy together right at this very moment. :)

Right now I know it's impossible for him to get a US visa. He quit his job because he made enough money from a freelance gig to live for a few months without working. So we'll wait until he gets a new job.

I do know of a few people who were rejected even though the family invited them, and not an individual. We'll have to wait and see though, as it will be a long time before my guy gets a new job and vacation time. Plus i'm lined up to receive a russian student visa and then a work visa a few months later, so him coming to the us to visit isn't a priority right now.

It's pretty difficult for younger Russian men (I'm assuming your boy is not senile, etc.), but it's doable! We did it! The first time around Vasya (my fiance) was rejected, mainly because he was unable to show having enough assets (ie: enough important ####### to make him need to return to Russia), and also because I invited him personally.... The 2nd time around we figured it out, with the help of a couple others.... Instead of me inviting him, my mother agreed to help which allowed us to invited him as a "family" rather than just me. He got letters from both his jobs saying he worked for them and expected him back by a certain date, and then had them translated (very cheap translation services in Peter!). He also got his parents to write a letter saying when he was expected back home. I think there was one other thing, so when i remember I'll let you know. If you have any questions, etc., feel free to PM me (I added you as a friend since you're the only other girl I've seen here with a Russian boy! )

Good luck and let us know how thing's go!!!

    Congrats on the Schengen!

And I just realized that you posted this topic a couple months ago...ooops

You're sooooo lucky to be going to Piter...it's my 2nd home kinda and I miss so many aspects about... have you been there before? I went to SPBgU last year...

  17. Do any of you have experience with getting a tourist visa to US for a single Russian man? My boyfriend wants to visit me in a couple of months, and I was wondering what the best way to do this would be. Would it be better to say that he was staying with a mutual male friend of ours, rather than with me?

And I know it is easier for me to go to Russia... I am going in less than a week. And we were planning on taking a trip to a different country in the spring where neither of us would need a visa, but he would really like to see where I am from and meet all my friends.

It's pretty difficult for younger Russian men (I'm assuming your boy is not senile, etc.), but it's doable! We did it! 18. I've never used Beeline, just tele2 and megafon, but they might keep these kinds of records for your sim, even though you used pay as you go. You might be able to go to a Beeline office and ask them. The main issue is who was the sim registered to--if it was registered to you with your registration and passport, Vasya can't get these records. Conversely, if it was under Vasya's name, only he can obtain them.

But i don't think call records are that important--if you have proof of your life in spb together i think it's enough.

On another note--glad to see another girl with a russian guy. Very few of us in this forum. my guy is in spb too.

Thanks! Oh that's great there's actually a GIRL here with a Russian GUY!!!!!! 19. HI everyone!

I used the phone company, Beeline, when I was living in Saint-Petersburg last year. Of course I made mutiple calls and SMS' to my fiance. Does anyone know of a way to obtain call history/sms history from them w/out having to pay some 50 billion rubles???

By the way, I was just using their pay-as-you-go service (buying prepaid card with a certain amount)

    Any and all advice welcome!

    Thanks so much!

    Anna
