  5. Safe travels! Thank you to everyone who keep us informed. I honestly think I would have gone mad by now if it wasn't for the availability of this information. Instead, I just obsessively refreshed my emails and scoured all the forums in search of promising news lol - much healthier, no? 🙂

  7. I personally appreciate the nitty gritty truth. I don't need to live a fantasy lol. Waiting SUCKS but when my partner and I decided that we enjoyed speaking to each other enough that we wanted to see how things went despite the distance, we both knew that it would be a long, exhausting journey that would test our commitment to one another. And to be honest, as much as I hate being apart, this journey has shown me how much I truly want to spend the rest of our lives together.
  8. Hi all! New to this forum. Decided to join because it's comforting reading everyone's journeys and being part of a community dealing with the same process. This is my first post (sorry if it's not in the right place). My fiance and I filed our I-129F application in April 2022. As I mentioned above, I spend a lot of my time reading forums to pass the time and I've been seeing a lot of people encouraging new filers to go for the CR1 instead of the K1. A lot of them make strong arguments as to why the CR1 visa is potentially superior to the K1. From my understanding, the K1 had more appeal (prior to 2020) because of how quickly it was approved, hence the additional costs with the AOS was somewhat worth it. But now that the CR1s and K1s are being processed at roughly the same timeframe, it's starting to plant a seed of doubt as to whether we made the right decision to file for the K1. Of course, I'm not asking if I should withdraw my application. I mean, we are 5 months in... it would be silly to do so now. I guess I'm just looking for some words of advice/encouragement/wisdom/comradery from you all that are/were on this journey
