    I selected pick-up and was able to pick it up 3 days after the interview.

    For package 3 they definitely accept all documents in German. For the I-130 I also received instructions that said that all documents have to be translated into English. It doesn't really make sense that they have different requirements for different packages.

    My visa was approved today. Everyone at the Frankfurt consulate was very nice and I was out after 1.5 hours. The whole process took only 2 months and 1 week. Good luck to everyone!

    The German salary does not count at all on the I-864. So your income from the previous years would be 0 (I assume you used the Foreign Income Exclusion or the Foreign Tax Credit on your US tax return). Is your new income from the same employer? If not and you just have a job offer from a new employer, you cannot include this in your current expected income either. We were in the same situation and thus used assets on the I-864.

    That was quick! We also provided a photocopy as there was no transcript available yet. The IRS states that processing of paper returns may take up to 6 months this year.

    They told me to submit a request to schedule an interview first. This request was approved within a couple of hours. Then I selected an interview date.

    No, they won't. You can send them an email though, they are very responsive.

    That was one of the biggest challenges. I think it's hard to get it from a German bank, so I had someone mail me a cashier's check from the US.

    Great that you got the approval. 1. If I remember correctly, they only require proof of delivery address which is the registration at your current address in Germany. 2. The earliest date was in 4 weeks.

    I'm going to have my interview appointment in October, 2 months after the consulate received the I-130 petition. So there is still some hope. We put a lot of effort into the I-130/I-864, wrote a cover letter that explained all supporting documents, and organized them in various sections to make it as easy as possible for them. The I-130 approval still took 4 weeks which is longer than what people reported in previous posts from this year. Everything after that went super fast, though.

    Re varicella: The doctor in Frankfurt just asked me if I had chickenpox in the past and did not require a titer as proof. So I could've saved the 100 EUR

    I went through preclearance in Dublin with an approved I-130 and interview date in October without any issues. The officer did not mention the pending application at all and just asked me how long I was staying and where I was going.

    Td (tetanus/diphteria) is fine as well - you do not need pertussis. The yellow booklet is definitely sufficient. I'm German and did not have any other documentation either.
