All k-1 visa applicants must provide the following documents

**Two forms DS-156 (All questions on the form must be answered)

**One form DS-230 part-1 (All questiond on the form must be answered)

**One form DS-156K (All questions on the form must be answered)

**One form DS157 (All questions on the form must be answered)

**Birth certificate (Original and one photocopy)

**English translation of the birth certificate (Original and one photocopy)

** Original, signed, and notarized Form I-134 (Affidavit of support) from the petitioner or from a financially qualified preson.

**Copies of the sponsor's federal tax returns (Form 1040) for the past year.

** An original job letter/proof of self employment from the sponsor.

**Proof of sponsor's assets.

**Passport (Valid for 12 months beyond the anticipated visa interview date)

** Medical Examination report ( Medical examination must be performed by one of the panel physicians listed in this booklet)

**Photographs (Two photographs according to the specifications given in this booklet)

** Police certificate

Does Anyone know why do they ask for Medical Examination report on packet 3.5? Please tell me it's supose to be taken to embassy not send through mail.

When u will mail packet 3.5 through AMEX.They will check all the required documents according to their check list.If something is missing,expired,need more documents,

They will tell u abt the additional documents in Appointment letter & Medical examination through AMEX.There wolud be mention interview date.

Keep in touch with USEM they will tell u abt ur interview date when they will abt to send u appointment letter then u should take an appointment for Medical examination.

You will have to keep safe (not opened) brown envelope of Medical examintaion report with u for the interview.

My husband is at sea he wont be back until the weekend. He had not gotten his packet 3.5 as he was at sea. His mother has it though as it arrive about two weeks ago. Is it going to be too late for him to get his Police Clearance Certificate? Mahetab told me the other day that there is a 3 week deadline on submitting the packet 3.5. Is this true? Also, I want to know something else, how long does this Police Clearance Certificate take? Please reply very soon you all-need your responses!

There is no time limit for resending the packet 3.5 its valid for 1 year coz according to US immigration law if Petitioner or Applicant wont contact regarding their visa case then they will start revoking the petition.

But its in ur best interest if u will send them packet 3.5 as early as possible to get Appointment letter of interview.

When u apply for PCC then normally it takes 1 week or maximun 10days it depends but not more than these days.

The term "ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING" covers just about everything they do. Since the embassy took her passport and told you that they will be returning it in 7 to 10 days means she IS getting her visa. The three week wait is because ISLAMABAD EMBASSY IS THE SLOWEST FREAKING EMBASSY ON THE PLANET.

Copy of sponsor's federal tax returns for past years ( I only sent in 1 yr but 3 years are recommended

Original job letter proof of employment on company letter head from the sponsor

Proof of sponsor's assets (if applicable) only needed if using to meet income requirements

Passport valid 12months beyond the anticipated interview date (send copy from front to back) take original to interview.

Medical exam report ( take to interview)

2 2x2 photos on white background (you will need these for the medical) Im not sure if we sent 2 back in the packet or not just do it to be safe. but i know you need 2 for the medical exam too.

Police certificate.

Please remember this is for K-1. k-3 only needs marriage certificate included same as the above directions 1 original if in urdu and 1 copy and then the translation English original and 1 copy

Well i was that time busy and told to samir to call me back in 1 hour but he did not.

Then i remembered he had to talk to me then i called him.Well hes always wellcome any time.

He doesn't need to send orignal pasport.he has to send photo copy and take keep with him orignal passport at the time of interview.

I talked to sameer and told him that for PCC he will have to show the letter from embassy regarding the required documents.

First of all your husband has to go to Deputy Police officer(D.P.O) office for this as i told him before.

30,000 is not the fee somebody trying to charge extra money the fee is in hundreds,i dont remeber how much exactly it was but i m sure it was just in hundreds.

No need to get 2 witness in my state,i dont think so it would be necessary in his state too.

Just tell him to go to D.P.O office,get the PCC form there.Then he will have to show the letter from embassy or NVC(in which the PCC requirement would be mention) his 2 pics(Blue back ground) ID copy and fee in hundreds thats it.

I recieved email on tuesday from USEM islamabad in which they told me that "Our record shows that ur case is under administrative process".

It means that they r ok with those documents which i have sent them on thier demand.

Everyone in this thread is so nice and without all of you I would be totally lost! I was losing my mind. Now I feel so light! I went to Meijer lastnight and I noticed, even though I have gained about 10lbs from binging-I still felt many lbs lighter. Ahhh...that's what an NOA2 feels like relief from torture and heavy weight pulling you down.

I talked to sameer today.He was very happy regarding NOA2.

He was also asking abt police certificate and he was telling me that u asked him to send u complete color copies of passport.

Mahitab only biographical page of passport was required.

Well inshaAllah u guys r gonna meet very soon.

I was told to contact the USEM islamabad after 2 weeks.I tried to call but as usual phone line was busy then i emailed to them,they even did not reply me back.

I decided to call DOS on thursday and the lady told me that "now they r reviewing the documents".

OMG this is very very late.It means they will again take the weeks to review it.

I m upset...........this is disgusting

The Embassy has contacted all of our wedding witnesses by phone this week.

I certainly hope this is the last thing they need to do. It has been five and a half months of AP now.

since everyone here is mostly from pakistan...well could you guys help me out? my husband is from pakistan...at the moment he is in pakistan for a 2 month vacation to attend his brothers wedding. but he will be returning to the philippines at the end of january. he lives in the philippines, been living there for 5 years now because he studied in the philippines and is still on a student visa. also, our son is in the philippines and my mom takes care of him (my parents are filipinos but I am a USC by birth and I live now in boston). since we will be using the us embassy in manila as our consulate...what things does he need to get from pakistan now that he is there? aside from the usual birth certicate with translation and police clearance...what else?

Here comes a question rise like u wrote that complete fingerprints mean that"name hit" in their databases,so now everyone has to give their complete fingerprints what it means?

i am married to a USC and its one year now on AP why because i am a Male and above all i am "PAKI" with a common name, and one thing more desi(1) thats mean one is in a deep shi*. anyway yeah people are right when this is will end, you would just forget everything because you will be excited to start a new life,new place...

i think you are lucky cause you are a female. I hope and pray for you and all of us who are suffering because of AP.

CR-1 cases have a fingerprint fee that is paid in advance of your embassy visit. K visa applicants must pay their fee on the day of their interview. Dhobee listed some prices and I would follow her advice SA.
