  1. fyi

my wife went into the consulate today (in Mumbai) and picked up a copy of the letter.

    That's great! Congrats

we are waiting for the letter!

We hope we get it soon.....

We got our letter last Saturday in mail..thank god for that! Also, wanted to share with you that VFS seems to be up to date with information regarding NVC. Atleast in Delhi, we only had to submit the fees needed for courier service.

  2. hope i get it tomo, it was mailed to me 9/11 per NVC

    Hi,

have you received your appointment letter? My letter was issued from NVC a day after yours(12th Sept) and my wife has the same interview date as urs (1st Oct). I am still waiting for her interview letter so she can get her medical done.

    Paul

nope i still havent got it..lost hope too. my wife will be going to the consulate to pick up a copy of the letter on monday

Have you heard about this VFS thing? Do we need to submit documents to them again? I dont understand this since we have already submitted everything to NVC.

  3. Thanks Sunny and Neetu and Sky2k and hyd617. I got an email letting me know about approval and then i checked online about status and it said case approved, notice sent in mail. I am waiting for the hard copy now. I also had a touchy feely on K3 today so hoping something will happen, who knows.

Congrats on getting your approval. Did you get a hard copy or email about your approval.

Also, who else got approved with K3 from VSC any idea?

I see lot of K1 even K1 from Jan & Feb getting approval, but only one K3 VSC.

First and foremost, congratulations on your approval.

Anyways, it has been like that even for June and July filers (check out my timeline). What happens is that your I-129F goes to NVC for the processing of your K-3 Visa. The I-130 stays at USCIS and will be used upon AOS of your wife/husband when he/she is at the States already.

Good luck on the rest of your journey!:thumbs:

  7. i check the uscis website today

Case Status ----- Approved notice send on 4th march

waiting for the hard copy NOA -2

    :time:

Could you please udate your timeline. You are still showing Nebraska as yoiur service center but they haven't handeled CR1 applications for a year now. You can only be CSC or VSC.

    Hi GermanChick,

I was approved NOA2 today. How do i check about NVC thing? Does USCIS sends a NVC #? I am clueless as to what next step will be.

  8. VSC is NOT at mid-September. There are a few cases which have been approved but for most of us who filed between July and August it is still undetermined when our cases will be approved. We talked to our Congressman again and all he could say was that he would be watching the case. But nothing has happened so far. Not even a 'touch'- nada, nothing. So, we still have to pray and keep hopeful that USCIS will be working on our cases soon(ish).

Yeah, No touch here either...by the way folks how are you guys filinf taxes this year if your spouse is over seas. Are you filing jointly or married filing separately. I was told to go for the 2nd option but wasnt sure what to use for SS#. My wife dont have tax payer id since she has never been to US. I called IRS and got 3 answers. 2 telling me to file 1040 and put under wife's SSN as "NRA outside US". One person told me that i have to have tax payer id. Anyone has any clue on this? I dont need to file as married filinf jointly. I want to keep it simple and get it over with. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

You need to file a W7 which gives you an ITIN for your wife. There have been a few thread on here talking about this subject...Check HERE and HERE

K3 hey mate good to see u again -

I am going for the married filing separate route and all that I need to put for kris is hes really not available at the moment  No was told to put NRA on that line - and then just do my thing -

Cheers hun and with the other option yes you need the ITIN for spouse -

Hi Susie, good to hear back from you..sorry been so busy with projects and meetings. How r things? Actually i want to file "Married filing Separately". So in that case i dont need to do anything? except put "NRA" where SSN is needed? AND Did you mail in the 1040 cause i was trying to use taxactonline for e-filing and it doesn't allow anything but numbers in SSN column.

lol same here since the SSN wont take NRA - so will mail it in - I owe so ummmm taking my sweet old time about that issue- same old thing going on mate, nada, and btw Happy Valentines Days to you and yours xxxx hopefully next year this time, well ya know

    Cheers

Haha...Amen! Thanks for the reply as well Marlita!

    HERE'S MY DETAILS

SEPT 25,2007 RECEIPT DATE OF 130

  13. Ok, this is last post unless prompted. :) How likely is that? hehehe . You ask why I come to this thread since I am a December filer. That's a good question since I'm not an Aug/Sept filer. The reason I come to the CR/IR I-130 Aug/Sept 2007 forum/thread is because I'm looking within the CR/IR forum how things are progressing for SIMILAR (IR/CR) filers as myself. Obviously you understand why. I can judge and predict only on similar visa filers. If things are moving for I-130 filers (not K-3) then things are moving closer to my date. But the Aug/Sept thread is becoming inundated with K-3 or I-129F discussions...no, it's not the end of the world! But, in my opinion, there is a different forum created for those discussion based on K-3. Thats why I visit the Aug/Sept thread. Why do K-3's visit the IR/CR Aug/Sept thread and post their progess?....I filed...I'm approved....These posts should remain in the K-3 forum.

I understand the very close relationship the two visas have. And it's that closeness that creates this subtle problem. But it's clear that under normal conditions, any post expressing the filing, the approval or the tracking of such I-129F should, by inherent structure of the visajourney, be posted in the K-3 forum.

I'm tired :) And in a very real sense, I do feel as if I'm helping all members of VJ too....just cleaning out some corners or bringing to light obscure problems that seem to be ####### on the surface but really help maintain more order and control....which in the end, will help people find what they are looking for. But no one likes being told what to do!

    James

I do understand what you are saying James. The thing is that we all(atleast me) have made friends here mainly from this form. Everyone stuck by with one another(HOHOHO, SusieK, myself and whole lot of other peeps) during hard time and now people look upto this form for sharing any sort of issues and concerns(which is not a bad thing at all in my opinion since its all about helping fellow VJs.) hence you see K3, CR1 etc all posting here. No harm done, its all cool..

  14. Yes, I have seen the maze and understand it. If you look under it your forum of IR-1/CR1 is posted under the root of Marriage based Immigrtation K1, K2, K3. Shown below.

    VisaJourney.com >

--------------------Marriage Based Immigration (K1, K2, K3, etc) to the USA >

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa General Discussion

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Replying to August / September I-130 2007 Filers.

The reason it is posted this way because if K3 people want to stop the K3 and want to continue with IR1/CR1 if both get to the embassy at the same time.

Anyway, I don't have time for these silly things. If someone is being ####### about petty things like this, "Teacher John Doe took half of my candy" LOL. Sorry, I can't help you. Just want to share the information for people who need it, and want to stay from those who want to complain because I AM NOT GETTING PAID FOR THIS.

    Good Luck, and good bye.

If you back out of the maze far enough you'll realize we are in an IR-1/CR-1 Immigrant Visa forum as we speak...err..type! Your K-3 non-immigrant visa discussion is located one forum above our current location. :) So by default, any thread that is labeled I-130 (or any thread for that matter) within this forum is assumed to be the immigrant visa or the IR/CR visas and not the K-3 non-immigrant visa forum. There are many forums within VisaJourney as evidenced by the plural usage of the word forumS. This forum that we are currently speaking in is the CR/IR (stand-alone I-130) Immigrant visa forum.

I am quite aware, as you request, of the mulitple forms K-3 filers complete. I almost went that route. But may I ask you to be aware of just what you are clicking on as you make your way to this forum...reading may help! :) And I am not complaining...not yet...I'm just trying to educate to make people a little less confused...as we see has happened with you and susieK. :)

    James

Sky - just keep going mate, as there are alot of us appreciating what you are doing - also with Sunshine and Delicia timelines - it makes us a group of just wanting to contribute - correct me if I am wrong, but that I do not find confusing in the least. Whether we are July August September October November so forth, does not matter, the effort is appreciated. I spent three hours on the phone last night with a VJ who is further down the road and so informed, yet he is dumbfounded by some things that are going on. All we can do is support each other - we all have A COMMON GOAL - and that is having our SO's next to us soon.

    Cheers

    Susie

I second what Susie says. Keep going Sky, i really appreciate you helping other folks here!

  15. susie,

even though you where jocking about the job, i do feel like quiting mine and go work for USCIS lol

    Anish,

Hun, I was not joking thats the best part......I really applied online IM DEAD SERIOUS, why the hell not, I got most of the forms down by heart, the timelines and the babble, hell I dont need training, Im already there.

HOHOHO - I dont know what to say - well yes on pee in their helmets thats a given, but for your timeframe, there are only a few before you that have not received, I just dont know. FIFO comes to mind in an argument stand point, but who do we argue with, surely not USCIS for they can't even figure out what they are talking about to have a decent debate.

Have you tried the congressman route and if not, do you refile, I dont think so cause then you are in another wait and see situation I just dont know. Friend of mine spoke with VSC today and they basically confirmed the one year timeline from date of NOA1 - but again, could be less could be more, no one knows anymore and I think that is the crux of this whole matter, there is no correct information being given, from their website nor from their employees. The best we have right now is VJ and its good, we can find out exactly what is going on with issues,,,,,,I just dont know. You may want to try posting a new thread in asking this question.

Feeling for you and how did we get our NOA1 - rolled a seven on the dice table hun, that about sums it up-

Ah man, HOHOHO i am really sad and upset to hear about your case. Susie, do you know any others who haven't received NOA1 besides alto.d and HOHOHO. If so may there is still hope for these guys since it might not be just them alone. Anyhow, pity that USCIS don't care a bit about people like us... after making us wait for so long and then some of us have to hear about papers getting lost... TOTAL HELL...........

  16. Is there anybody else out there who sent their I-130 on August and has not received the NOA1 yet? Because I sent mine on August and haven't received anything yet, and I am worried that my file was lost during transfering all the files from service centers to Chicago Loxbox :( I called the USCIS yesterday and the officer took my information (finally) and sent a letter to VSC for further investigation....

Still haven't got jack squat either.

I now feel un-married, like hoping I can win the lottery and one day have a wife. Cause what I have now is nothing.

This totally sucks, so much for FIFO. You guys should definitely call USCIS and raise hell. Keeping fingers crossed for you :(

  17. I filed my I-130 on Aug-31, and I got nothing until now. I am really very worried about it. I wonder that whether I need to refile. Is there anyone who filed I-130 after Aug-31 received NOA-1?.

don't worry it will be comming today or tomorrow

Mate i filed on Aug 20th and haven't received anything yet either so you are not alone
