Good luck to everyone who been waiting for these a while now. I hope they start coming in for everyone. Good luck again! (I am making it sound like I received NOA2.)
Wow many congrats! Hopefully mine is coming along as well since i sent on 20th Aug to Vermont Service Center. Many many congrats and this seems like a perfect christmas present for you! Did you have ur check cashed?

Hello All!
I'm an October filer but I follow your thread, cause when there's movement for you, there's hope for me. It looks like USCIS is cranking out NOA2s for July filers right now. I know that August is still waiting for NOA1, but at least Chicago Lockbox is updating. I suspect that you August filers will be receiving your NOA1's in the mail starting next week. What I have also realized is that USCIS says that they have updated files up to a certain date but they still don't send out an NOA1. Seems like lots of folks were getting an NOA2 without ever receiving any NOA1 in the mail. So I guess when you start seeing checks cashed you know your files are in action.
I think August will start seeing NOA2's by Feb. So thats not too bad. Keep your heads high all....the beginning of the end is near for you all yet!
Hope you are right Marlita, Keeping fingers crossed, its about time!
Hope is our key word here hun and Have a Happy Holiday and keep those good thoughts coming in.....someday this part of the journey will be over and as mom use to say....tis the rough parts in life that make the good parts seem so sweet"
Susie
So rightly said Susie and happy holidays to you as well even though i know its not the same without our loved ones!!

The latest receipt update notice states that I-130s at the Chicago Lockbox were caught up throug 8/20/2007. Okay, now here is my question: Where is my receipt notice -- they received it on August 14. ?????????????????????????????????????????????? Maybe this week or next week or week after that? Or maybe sometime in February.
Hate to be sarcastic but enough is enough. This has been over 4 months now waiting for NOA1.
DodSon01, did you check got cashed or not yet. I sent mine on Ayg 14 and the money order status still show outstanding
I sent mine on Aug 20th and i haven't had my check cashed yet as well? Whats the purpose of showing false time lines for Chicago LockBox, just to keep us delusional???
-
I called USCIS. Hadnt called in a while! Since it has been more than 90 days, they checked if i was in the "system" and...nopes im not. They say now my papers could be in chicago????!!!! Is this happening to anyone else???? From Texas to Maybe Cali from Cali to Chicago?Where next to the north pole? Why are they doing this, does anyone know?? Thanks.
I called today too,I try to call every other day.same here from texas to calif. to chicago, and i asked this officer who was extremely nasty,i was blown away by how nasty he was, anyway,i asked him and what date is chicago on with the I-130...since the USCIS great website...does not say what date there on.Didn't they promise they would keep us informed on this matter. The officer was clueless. No Answers...only said almost screaming at me..to be patient
DAMN IT i am trying to be patient over 90 days already of patience, and still i am not in the system......the best thing is for everyone to be persistant and keep calling them asking them "where is my NOA" .Soon they will get the message and say...."get these peoples petitions in the system" if we keep silent, they will take their sweet little ol' time.
I here ya! I have only called like a total of 3 times in 90 days because everytime I speak with them... they have no flippin clue whats going on. Its frustrating and I still dont understand why it is in Chicago. And whats a Chicago lockbox or whatever? They lock the files for 90 days more and then decide they want to send them back to california so california can send it back to them. Its like hot potatoe! The lady I spoke to wasnt rude at all atleast. She probably sensed my frustration. Man I had a chance to see my hubby 10 days this summer...get married and take off and before that it had been 7 months since I hadnt seen him. Its like out of 365 days a year I get to see him 10 days a year, visitors visa is impossible and everytime I visit India I end up getting very i'll so I decided not to go for the Holidays. I am a patient girl and very very calm but I waited my 90 days, im done now. ARGGG!
I guess its time to stalk them even if it wont make a diffrence. lol.
Same here. I have seen my wife like 15 days this year. Just finished our first anniversary without each other. I will never forget this
I don't mind going to india but coming back alone without her is terrible! Takes me and her forever to settle down and move on. I am hoping this time i visit her, she will accompany back with me here. Damn, that sounds like a dream anymore!!!

Cant help but say it CONGRATS ON THIS ONE WEEEEEE>>>>>>>> by your timeline did you ever receive the NOA1??
Oh who cares, again wtg and best to u on the rest of journey..
No NOA1 yet
None here either

You should contact the CIS Ombudsman if you have an ongoing or immediate issue with USCIS.
I wonder if he will be able to help with anything at all since this involves a huge backlog for everyone filing since August. For an exceptional case i do see how his help might be beneficial. I have contacted my Senator, my Congressman with no luck so far. I doubt if any other option is left except to wait, wait and wait..

Q : Is USCIS prioritizing certain application(s) during the receipting process?
Yes. The Application to Adjust Status (I-485) will have first priority because USCIS needs to ensure that these applications are receipted in a timeframe that would allow processing of an application for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) within 90 days of filing as mandated by law [8 CFR 247a.13(d)]. Our second priority will be to receipt the Application for Naturalization (N-400) so that we can minimize any delays in obtaining citizenship.
http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD
This shows they won't work on I130 until they finish with the other forms.... I don't see that it is happening this year
NO one is stopping them from working on I-485/N400 but then whats the point of charging HUGE AMOUNT of fees?? We are the scapegoats and the ones to suffer and somebody keeps getting richer and richer. Called USCIS and got the same answer.."we dont know where your application is, we dont know how long it will take, thanks for calling USCIS and dont be afraid to call again for any issues/concerns you may have". What a JOKE!!!
-
Ok stepkids heres the deal,
The applications are not being forwarded to Chicago in our timeframe that I know for sure, well at least my lawyer states that and he had better know since he has strong ties to HS issues.
Second yes there is this backlog, but the 18 month thing hopefully will not happen to us. Lawyer says maybe two to three months behind but if that is a crock then I am off to Washington DC with this #######. I should have just done the fiance Visa thing and not gotten married......he would have been here by now or at least ready to pack a bag.
Why are we on the backburner......oh sod it, no one knows, and for sure of one thing, USCIS does not care. BUT I DO and this item is going to my congressman as it defeats what USCIS preaches to us all, we shall process in order received. Bull ####### might as well take the website down and revamp it with some poker tables since we dont have our mates here, at least we can call their bluff there.
Cheers and gl xxx
LOL @ Poker Table...good one. So even for end of August filers at Vermont, cases are not being forwarded to Chicago?

today is my birthday and no NOA
Unfair
People have been waiting since 3rd August for their NOA1 for I-130. I sent mine on 20th Aug and havent received a damn thing so far. Not to burst the bubble, but it might be a real long wait!!
-
Has one sole got NOA1 from california after 8/30 and from VSC 7/29 ... ANYBODY ......
NO, NONE!!!
-
I filed mine on August 9 and nothing!!!! Unfortunately you are not the only one... maybe I should write the year which is 2007, since 2008 around the corner..
Had my marriage anniversary today. Dont know what should i tell my wife. Poor soul has been waiting n waiting patiently, not fair to her.
-
What really makes me upset is.. I have friends who are here with a work visa H1 etc.. They can just go to the US consulate in their country and get a visa for their wifes and husbands "one day process" which is totally fine and that's how it suppose to be, everybody should be with their husbands and wifes!!! good for them. But us US CITIZENS have to wait almost a year or so to be able bring our wifes and husbands.
Anyways, now I see all I-130s forwarded to Chicago Lockbox I hope it is a good sign and everything is going to move faster now... keep your fingers crossed !!!
Chicago Lockbox is really a good thing?I dunno man!
Has anyone received any receipt notice from Vermont Service Center for month of August? I filed on 20th Aug and so far not a damn thing! Am i the only one here for Vermont?
-
Your application will not be processed at Chicago. Chicago is simply doing the initial data input and then will return the file back to either CSC or VSC for processing. I think you can safely assume they will be processed by the Service Centers based upon the original date received.
The weekly USCIS updates have always included an entry for Chicago and Chicago has always been listed as up to date with all its forms.
it this for real??
I-130 mailed: 10/26/07 to CA Service Center
Confirmation of receipt of I-130: 10/29/07
I sent mine in 9/6/07 and i haven't received anything yet. I have confirmation.
do you know what should i do?
please help.
I sent mine on 20th Aug to Vermont and havent received anything so far in my case as well. I think a lot of people are in same boat. Maybe we will start seeing receipts soon now.
You sent yours to Vermont and you haven't even received a receipt notice? if so you should sent a letter to your congressman to see if you get any help and it won't hurt since you can use it to prove that you tried something. what i am saying is that it could be come useful someday.
hmmm... after crying everynight for a month my wife went to the embassy again in hopes of some information. They told her timeline is about 2 to 5 years right now to get to the interview. You are talking about the whole possess, I was just talking about getting the receipt notice only for the I-130
oops i miss spelled prossess
Agreed. I have contacted my Congressman and lets see what help he can provide in this regard. August filers, has anyone received receipt notice from Vermont Service Center at all? Am i the only one waiting from Vermont?

To C and J.. Thanks for the info first of all..
But they didn't even started processing the I-130 yet, it is just sitting on the shelf. What could be the risk sending the I-129F now???
Alto-
There are many of us that sent both applications together and some of us have lawyers and it is becoming a standard practice. AS LONG AS U HAVE RECEIPT OF DELIVERY there should be no problem.
I am still dumbfounded that they sent it back, and more even dumbounded that they had the time to find it.
Hang on hun
Cheers
Susie
I'm thinking of firing off my I129, as it has been together and waiting for 4 months for a reciept.
I have the certified mail from the post office receipt and a printout verifying it as recieve on the date form St. Albans Vermonth (VSC). What the hell, can't hurt right? I wish I'd have fired this off sooner.
everything sucks SO ficking bad. Like being on a life prison sentence with no idea of if parole comes up in 1 2, 10 or 20 years. All so unfair to my wife.
I totally agree with you HOHOHO. Atleast sitting here we know what the problem is. What are we suppose to tell our spouses? Its not fair to them at all. This process has been the worst experience so far. My wedding anniversary is on 10th of December and no news of Receipt Updates at all...
-
that is not true ... i got my reply from CSC which ended up to be an RFE ... wrong free ... i hate myself so bad ........ they recieved it around aug 25th... just my experiance ... not i been waiting for 50 days almost .... for a reciept
I am glad you got some reply from USCIS Elijah otherwise they won't give you time of the day. Today is Friday and i am doubtful if USCIS will updates their receipt timeline dates. It seems to be wrong anyway based on feedback you got. Has anyone from beginning of August received/had their cheque cashed period?
-
you know i was thinking about that .... i am assuming the application in CSC/VSC is still in a bin somewhere not entered into the system ... overnighting a duplicate application to chicago lockbox might be faster that waiting for CSC of NVC
what do u guys think
Well I believe that the only reason USCIS is having ALL forms go to the Chicago lockbox is because CSC and VSC can no longer house applications that are coming thru their doors and just sitting in a pile. What I am assumming is that the current mailroom at CSC and VSC is overwhelmed and flooded with apps that just keep coming in and piling up. This probably makes it much difficult to get the receipting in a timely fashion when the mailroom is constantly overworked. So they implemented the Chicago Lockbox(CLB) so that apps can stop coming into their mailroom before they are ready to process them.
I think this is a good move. It may help in the organinzation process plus allieve the stress of the workers there so they dont just up and quit from all of the frustration. I am assuming CLB will start housing all applications until said service center is ready to receive them. Maybe CLB will start issuing out NOA1's too so that people can at least know that their application was received safely. I don't think this means CLB apps will get processed faster than the apps at CSC or VSC, but they could receive an NOA1 before others. There apps are still just sitting in a que waiting to get shipped off to the designated service center. I think this process is just for organizational and catch-up purposes. They obviously have workers at CLB who will be alleviating the work load from the service center workers, so maybe the service center workers can then start focusing on actually processing the apps.
Yes on trying to help the backlog and proces what is outstanding but the receipts will still come from appropritae area of filing aka CSC or VSC as per memo.
And i also agree good move, l think it may help.... ok need another paddle for our canoe lol
Cheers hun
Susie
I would think all applications will be handled based on priority dates they were sent. That only seems to be fair and USCIS will work on cases piling up in Vermont/CS offices from July/August instead of processing new ones coming to Chicago even it means sending NOA1 notices. Atleast i hope thats what will happen..
Can someone help me please!!! I spoke to an Immigration officer today at the Customer Service #. He stated that even though the website reflects a 6mo timeframe for getting the I130 visa petitions completed & forwarded to the Consulates abroad, it basically means nothing with the backlog. He stated the countdown does not begin until the check is cashed & the appliCation is in the system. I thought I read some where on the message board that they were counting from the date the petitions are received in the mailroom. Imm. Officer claims this is not the case and if cks are not cashed etc etc then clock has not even began on these cases.
THIS IS SO DEPRESSING!!!1
ANY FEEDBACK PLEASE
That totally sucks. I was hoping all this wait would cut down the wait time for K3 actual processing...jeez...
