  1. Hi everyone!

I just got an email saying that my card has been ordered!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's weird... because last thing I knew from them was that they were going to send me a letter to get another interview. I guess they chose to believe us instead!!! I'm soooooooooo happy!!!!!

    :dance::lol:

I can't believe we're done HAHA!! Is this real? :D

congrats!!!!! do you remember what date of june 2007 you got your NOA?

  2. Hello, Everyone

Unfortunately its been not even a week that my Husband has filed for a divorce and the paper work is on its way. The reason for Divorce is based on in supportability issues and differences in personalities.. He is assuming i have cheated on him (WHICH I HAVE NOT) and because of all this is has threaten to withdraw or revoke his sponsorship of me as his wife and is also threatening to take away my green card, Military ID, Social Security and everything else that is of legal standings to me..

I would like some advice on what steps i ought to take on this matter. I do know i need legal advice as he is not making much sense and has becoe quite vindictive toward the whole situation.

I'd also like to know if he can ultimately take away my green card before my status expires on 10/12/09 ? Iam in the process of filing my I-751 form and Will have that mailed out by the beginning of Next week Monday.

This is all happening very fast but, am i still in the safe zone as I am still within my 90 Day window for filing my I-751?

    Someone please help !!

But, is your divorce complete????? Well... if you are in a divorce process you have to wait to file I751 until your divorce is complete... you will have to ask USCIS for an extension (not sure how it works better look for legal help) or… is your husband is going to sign everything and file a joint I751? For the looks of it he won’t..... So be careful you CAN NOT FILE I751 with a waver if your divorce is not complete!!!

Once you divorce and file I751 you will have to proove that you entered the marriage in good faith, with suporting documents and evidence. I do not think he can take your Green card away since is yours and he already sign the paper work for AOS... the only entity that can I believe is USCIS, but once again I will consult with a profesional about this.

  3. Yes I have changed my phone number that I put on the I-751 and the form I filled out when I went for biometrics...do I need to let anyone know that? and if so how?

    Thanks gang.

I am not sure, maybe someone can tell you better, but I do not think you have to do anything. USCIS will not call you, they will mail you what they need.

  4. Ailin - congratulations! I'm so happy for you. This is wonderful news...your frustration was genuine and my congratulations are truly sincere. Now you can rest at night.:dance::dance:

Staashi, how was the Oath Ceremony????? Congrats to your husband!!!

  5. Hey guys,

My biometrics appointment for my lifting of conditions on my 2 yr GC was a few weeks ago, and now I guess it's time to sit and wait, and be patient.

However, it would be nice to know about how long other applicants, going through the California service center, and having to submit their applications with a divorced status, took for their applications to be approved.

I would normally look at the timeline section but it doesn't show applicants who have been divorced and are filing on their own, so can these successful applicants please let me know how long they had to wait?

    regards

    Paul

Mine took 6 months. From filing the I-751 Waiver, RFE to approval. My approval was Feb of last year.

with California it should be fast!!!! lucky you!! I waited 8 month with Texas then another 4 months with vermont when I got transfer. Total waiting time: 1 year and almost 1 month.

  6. Thanks for the response, I was hoping that some of them just did not let us know that they were approved :( It is too bad that it takes sooooo long...forever! How could some people get approved for 6 months and some waiting more than a year???

when dealing with USCIS that question has and uncertain answer.... the reason ??? Don’t know. I file a year and a month ago and I got approved yesterday.......

  7. Congrats! I know you must feel a lot better having this nightmare behind you.

Anybody think I should be worried since my NOA is more than a month older than what they re currently working on?

No, I was not worried about that, I knew we were going to get approved... I hope you and BBAN and the others get approved on monday if not today in the afternoon!!!!! I waited for 1 year and 26 days.... remember that one example is james, he waited more than a year and a month and got approved.... Is hard to hear and easy to say but I have faith that we are all going to get our of the Looser list by July!

  8. :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. I had assumed she had heard or made an infopass by now. Hopefully that is the case. so this week is over then due to the holiday or can we hope for more approvals....?

OMG!! I forgot to tell you gusy the most funny part of my morning!!! while waiting at USCIS office same lady asked about her mother's case saying that she would came back with her mother later, when the officer told her :"tell her to come before 11:30 am, because we close at that time" WONDER WHY THEY ARE BEHIND? WONDER WHY ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR OF WAITING!!!!?????? well. dont anymore, the reason is because this people WORK sooo hard (between 8 and 11:30 am)

so, baunzerbrudi, dont expect nothing this week! :crying:

  10. Hello everyone, If I may inquire about a specific topic

    quick background...

I went to INS office back in late may to inquire about my status, at which I found out that I had an interview july 15th, for removal of conditions, i got divorced and filed the form on my own.

    NOW..

However, INS officer indicated that my passport expired so it cannot be stamped. Now i received a job offer and my new employer wants to send me to a medical exam and come to their office to fill out all the tax forms - I-9 forms next week, which is a week or so prior to my interview

INS office back in may did indicate that i can come back once I renew my home county passport, ( which i did) I scheduled an info pass for this coming monday the 7th early morning, would they stamp it then..? or will i be told its too close to interview date so i have to wait until the 14th to do that..

please advise, its a wonderful job/career advancement and i am freaking out on what to for next week

thank you all for taking the time to read my words

let them know the reason why you really need a stamp.... tell them that it is very important to get it.

  11. Congratulations to mvn910!!!!! That took for ever!!!!!! What in this world they were waiting for??? I hope that same officer does not have my case!!!! God!!!!

I have a peculiar story to tell, I just came back from my infopass... went quickly. I went with a friend of my which she is also removing conditions with the difference that her case is worse is the second year she has to go to get a stamp, since she got a RFE on DEC 2006 and on 2007 (march she send the new package) but when she went last year for her infopass they told her that since she has not even got the interview from AOS (she came with green card from Uruguay... complicate case) her case is still pending. But well this is not the point, the point is: that they called her first today and then another lady called me (which I have to say that it was a really nice lady) she asked me about my case, I told her; she told me she had no access to Vermont system so she could not see anything but knowing that they had transfer my case to Vermont on FEB 1, and that they update my biometrics on Feb 25... Then she told me she will call my name to stamp my passport. A few minutes later my friend came and they told her that they could NOT give her a stamp because her last stamp expires on August 20 and they only give out stamps within 30 days of the expiration of the last one and that she has to come back after July 20th. I was already thinking that the other lady would tell me the same. When she called me, she gave me the stamp right away.... believe it or not my NOA expires August 28 and my friend's August 20... SO THE SAME DAY, SAME AGENCY, SAME HOUR, SAME PROBLEM, THEY GIVE THE STAMP TO ONE AND TO THE OTHER ONE NO. So everything is luck..... I just hope that a fast nice officer has my case in Vermont.

  12. We just had the biometrics appointment last week however I wanted to know if the RFE can still be requested eventhough they sent us for the digital? What do they usually ask for in the RFE? or would they just decline you if they feel their is not sufficient documentation? We sent them:

    Birth Certificate of Son

    2 years tax returns

    Pictures

ho yes!!!! there is people here that after waiting for WAY over a year got a RFE... sucks.. but yes it s possible, does not mean that you will get denied... it means that either they lost something or you miss something important that they wanted to see.... most likely they lost something.... this people from USCIS are stupid.... LOL!

  13. We received our 1 year extension letter last month so I planned an over seas vacation thinking since it states that it is good for employment and travel.

NOW I am freaking out because I hear that they are giving a hard time to people who only have the letter.

Should I get the stamp or would it be a waste of time?

Also, what is usually the info they ask for in a RFE?

I submitted birth certificate for our son, tax returns, banks statement, cd notices, copy of credit cards, car and dental insurance, pictures, vacation tickets and itinearies and utility bills showing address. Is their a chance that I will get a RFE or will I be like the rest of you (UNFORTUNATELY) waiting....waiting.....waiting....

    Thanks

Hey! Well I never travel outside the US during the removal of conditions, although I went to get an stamp here in Miami Florida last year just to have it and they told me that with the NOA was enough.... now… here, we are dealing with USCIS.. So, anything can happen really....

My NOA is expiring in August so I have an infopass appointment tomorrow, this time they have to give me the stamp since the NOA will be not longer valid after August.

    Good luck!!!!

are you going to Argentina? be ready cause is cold!
