  1. My application was received on nov. 1, 2007. USCIS.gov says that as of 1/23 they have issued receipts to 11/26.

I was wondering if anyone has received the receipt as of that time period. i called again today as the 90 day point has passed (which they told me over and over to do) only to be told they have no information on my name. she said that some agents might be slower, so the website date listed is for some cases only.

and not to sound rude, but if your only comment is 'just wait a bit longer' or even worse 'i've been waiting longer than you so just wait some more' then please don't reply to this post. i've heard that enough.

Thanks, and good luck to all

  2. Hi everyone. I noticed on uscis website today that as of 1-16, they are current on 1-130 until nov. 1, 2007. Nov. ! is the date that mine was received, so i am hoping to hear something soon.

has anyone near this date, maybe october filers, noticed their check being cashed recently? i am wondering if that should happend before i receive my noa1. or, has anyone near this date, again probably later october, received their noa1?

  3. Hi. I was just wondering how long it has been taking for people to receive their first notice of action. today is day # 70 since my application was received, and i have heard nothing. my check has still not cleared at this time. each time i call, the operator tells me to wait a little longer. if it passes 90 days they will do a diligent search for it.

I should have mentioned, i filed form i-130 for my foreign wife.

Has anyone else had this problem? and how long did you have to wait?

  4. This is an interesting question that i should have thought about earlier.

Here is the situation. We are expecting our application to be approved around May/June according to the guidelines. Regardless of the time frame, we expect 2008 for sure.

    Here is my problem

2005 i earned 40000 dollars. in 2006 I worked with my father starting a family business. I didn't take much in pay as we reinvested all we could. 2006 i believe i only made around 10000 dollars and 2007 i think will be around 14-15000. These are my tax returns, i mean.

I started a new job this October where i make a good living and also still make a little from the family business.

In 2008, I should easily make over 30000 at this new job alone.

However, when they ask for my last 3 tax returns, they will see 40k, 10k, 15k for 2005-2007. Is there any way i can prove to them that i can afford to support my wife when she gets here? I know they ask for pay stubs, and it should be easy to see by multiplying my stubs for the year ahead.

If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know.

  5. HI. I got married in China this last august and i am currently waiting for my first NOA for form 1-130. Anyway, I know exactly what you are talking about. What I did was visit the U.S. consulate nearest my wife's city, which was Guangzhou. As a divorcee, I had to show my passport and the decree of divorce. Then I just signed a statement swearing that I was free to marry. If you have never been married, you only need to be an American and sign the document swearing your freedom to marry.

To be honest, they probably would have had no idea if i was married previously or not. But I think telling the truth is always the best route.

With that paper, we were married a few days later. I hope this helps a little.
