  1. hey everyone! maybe this isn't important but i thought i'd ask anyway.

i got the email today saying approval and i confirmed it on uscis website. the website says "on jun 20 we sent the approval ...." (paraphrased of course) but i didn't know this until today. it was updated last on 6/26.

should i put approval 6/20 or 6/26 on my timeline? i want to keep my info as accurate as possible for anyone who uses my info.

    thanks everyone.

  2. i would happily pay 10 dollars a gallon if it meant i could avoid the constant barrage of discussion about gas prices.

it's all i hear all day at work. i turn on the radio and they're talking about. get home the tv is the same.

can we just shut the ####### up about gas prices?!

fine, i have to spend about 20-30 dollars more each week than i did a year or two ago. if your budget is broken over 20 dollars a week then you have bigger problems. you need to fix your lifestyle and quit complaining about this.

  3. Blacks? Don't they mean South African Americans? :P

I actually heard someone call South African Blacks "the African Americans in South Africa."

yes, that is hysterical. i love when the news or any other idiots (although i think newscaster implies idiot) calls a black british guy african american or any other similar situation.

i've enraged many people by my refusal to ever utter the term "african american". you are american or not. sorry, if your physical appearance needs to be described, then i will say it as it is.

  4. well, today i know that someone actually looked at my case. i had to request an investigation as to why i am 47 days outside of processing time.

i realize this touch is sort of artificial, but i do feel a little better knowing that someone actually looked at it. jesus christ!!!!over 4 months of just sitting there not to mention the 8 months since the application was received.

anyway, here is the email i got:

    Wow!!!!

Thanks so much!!!! Only 60 days?!?! by all means, take your time. 10 months is no time at all to be separated from lao po, never mind the additional steps afterward.

i can only hope i get an RFE instead of an approval to waste even more time....

yes, i realize my personal information is up there, i don't care. if that's against the rules, delete whatever. if you want to send me an email or look up my case, feel free.

    i feel sick

  5. If they consider you out by 30 by next update, Vermont is going to be hearing from me!

i just got off the phone with uscis. they tried to say my application was received on feb but i insisted it was november. i told them i have my receipt in front of me and it clearly says nov. 1.

she said, ok, it appears you are 47 days out of our processing times. she set up an inquiry as to the status of my case and said i will hear something within thirty days. please call back july 19 if i don't hear anything. and she gave me a reference number for the inquiry.

it sucks that now i am still waiting but at least they are doing a little something. be sure you insist on your receipt date. that is their own posted rule, they can't just ignore it.

    good luck

  6. They're definitely not going by received date in Vermont. Is there any evidence to suggest received date in CA apart from what they told you? Because what they say is pretty much worth the air that it is written on.

all i can tell you is that the last two times i called ( jun 9 and 2) they said that as soon as they update and i am 30 days out by my nov. 1 date, they will investigate my case. i guess i will let you know the results. hope they update soon.

  7. You aren't actually outside of the processing times. They claim to be on July right now so you're well within, just like me. It is even worse since they're not honoring the date they received our applications but are going on the NOA1 dates.

edit : You're California -- still not outside of the dates. They claim November. The NOA1 is Feb.

We're both pooched by the delay from the alleged flood of July.

when i called them last, they said they are going by received dates as they are supposed to. they said call back when we are thirty days out.

  8. ***this one might get moved

I was logging in like i do every day and it dawned on me...."what's the point?"

So i want to ask everyone, why do you bother coming to vj everyday? I don't mean this in a mean spirited way, i am only curious. I know there are loads of info here, but once your paperwork is filed what is to gain? We can't find any more info about our case then we can at uscis.gov.

is it the emotional support? the willingness to answer others questions?

Is it seeing other people's approvals? if so, does that excite you or depress you? or both i suspect.

i just wondered what everyone's compulsion is because i don't know about mine.

  9. well thank you for adding more negative news, though i can't say you said anything i don't already know.

i was speaking of uscis, not anything else. i am already a member of that website, thanks. i am not yet ready to complain about the future, only the present.

look at our lovely DMV, and USCIS and every other bureaucracy. Any of you who think universal healthcare is a good idea, i hope you die before you are allowed to vote on it.

  10. i don't know why i bother replying to these types of questions but i feel obligated somehow. my noa1 was sent feb. 7 so that makes 125 days. if you include the time it was received that makes 223 days of nothing. no one even looked at our case yet except to receive it.

    no answers, no help....

i've kept my positive attitude this long, but it is getting difficult. my wife is so depressed, i am having a hard time keeping her head up. she almost has me feeling the same way.

i hope we all can get some answers soon.

everyone remember, however bad your case is, there is another who is waiting longer. for every case you see that applied after you approved, don't lose hope. you will probably get yours done before someone else who waited longer too.
