  1. I'd re-med or get titers (sp?) done to prove immunity to those vaccinations that you know your husband has had previously, hoping in like our case you get approved with just proof of immunity. I had my interview last month and they accepted a letter from my family doctor who did my titers back in Dec because she didn't want to give me vaccines I didn't need (just because my dr in the UK had lost my school vaccination record I lost proof I'd had the MMR and DPT).

  2. I want to say 340$, but it is best to call USCIS and ask them.

Correct, it's $340 for I-824 Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition, we had to file for one when our K1 approval notice was deemed lost by the USCIS (although it came through the mail just two days after sending in the form dated 5 days earlier, although the CRIS email had said it had been sent months before)

  3. Somewhere near the beginning of our interviewer asked if I was working or staying at home, I told him that I was still at home as I hadn't found work yet, then asked my hubby where he worked, apart from passing him a photocopy we had made of my EAD, it went into our file infront of him and I never saw it again. he said at the end after he approved me that if I do find work before the GC comes through to make an infopass to get proof that I can work.

  4. I will soon be filing the I-129F for my fiancee who lives in the UK. After we started looking into the vaccination requirements, we got a bit stuck. She's 22, and thus she is required to get the HPV vaccine. Where the complication comes in, is that it's given in 3 doses over the course of 6 months, and when she called the facility in London that would administer the vaccine, they refused (despite having the money to pay) and said they would only do it at the K-1 medical.

My question is), does she need to have completed all three doses before filing AoS? If she gets dose 1 in the UK near the time of her visa, she'd come over soon after and we'd have to marry and file AoS in 90 days, which wouldn't be enough time in between doses to get them all in. Has anyone else run into this issue? If the London facility didn't refuse we'd have no problem because we're assuming the I-129F will take 6 months anyway.

    Thanks in advance.

I didn't have the HPV vaccine at the medical, the nurse wrote down my previous vaccines on the sheet and for those that I was missing (most were missing because some of my medical records got lost), she wrote K1 Visa (at later date) next to each that I didn't have. She said that I could have titers once I arrived here to prove I'd had most of the vaccines and start the HPV at the latest before the interview. We filed for my AOS back in August and I only had my first HPV shot at the end of December just after we got our interview notice. even at our interview (11th of Feb) they didn't even ask about the HPV until I put the letter we got our family doctor to write stating I had started the HPV vaccine and the blue shield bill. Either way the interviewer said as long as you've started them before interview/issuing your Green Card, then they are happy.

  5. Congrats to everyone that got their approvals!

Paul and I got my AOS Approval NOA Tuesday morning and I got food poisoning the same day too and they've still not updated our case online so I can thankfully rest up and wait till my card comes through the mail instead of incessantly checking online

Good luck for everyone having interviews soon!

  6. Paul and I had our AOS interview yesterday in Downtown LA, went pretty well, we were well prepared with literally anything he could ask for, originals and copies of pretty much every piece of paperwork he asked for and everything we'd previously submitted. after going through that long list of "have you ever" questions, he looked through all the paper we'd passed over to him, seemed impressed with our honesty about my one day overstay back in Aug 07 and said it was no problem. He started typing away on his PC while Paul and I carried on a completely random conversation between ourselves (glanced over to our interviewer and he was smiling and nodding as he typed away) after he finished typing and printing things out he took my I-94 and EAD and passed us the approval notice to read over while he went and photocopied our wedding picture album.

felt like 15 minutes but turns out we were in there for just under an hour, we were told to expect my Green card in the mail withing 90 days and to remember to remove conditions and finally welcome to the USA :D

  7. Hello everybody, Ive been a bit MIA for a while, enjoying wedded bliss and whatnot, we tied the knot on Aug 2nd and filled for my AOS/EAD in mid August..

My early Christmas present were touches on my EAD online :) they approved my EAD on the 23rd and my card was ordered on the 29th, also got my interview letter though the post on the 20th, so Feb 11th will be an interesting and hopefully good day for us.

Happy new year to you all and Good luck with your AOS's :)

  8. The same thing happened to us at CSC, Our petition was approved on Oct 4th 2007. but heard nothing for over a month, Last Tuesday (Nov 13th), We called the NVC again and they told us it was deemed lost and we would have to file for a duplicate. My Fiance sent off the relavant paperwork the next day and on Thursday our NOA2 arrived with a different approval date through the mail (Nov 7th).

Maybe there's a delay of somesort? Or there is a error in their Online case status. (the call person my fiance talked to had the same Oct 4th date on her screen)?

Good luck and I hope your Packet-3 comes soon! (Congrats on your NOA2)

  9. This is just from personal experience, just make sure that you dont overstay the WVP limit. we did by accident and I got port parolled for a 30 day stay. 7 hours in customs and only because of our filing our I-129F I got port parrolled.

The officer that dealt with me had said that sometimes they will query prolonged continious use of a WVP as it looks like you are attempting to live in the US. it was on my third use of a WVP and was told regardless of the overstay I would still have had my WVP stay reviewed by higher up officer and it would have been his/her disgression weather to admit me to the US, Deport or Port Paroll. We were told that if I really needed to visit again as I'm not allowed to use the WVP anymore, I could get a B2 visa without any trouble just to take any documents from the USICS (and in my case Customs) and truthfully declare your intent of visit.

Again this is just what happened to us, it all depends on the officer at customs weather to send you to secondary for review or not (or if his/her computer flags something up).

for refrence for anyone else the list of countries that are currently participating in the Wisa Vaiver Program:

Andorra, Iceland, Norway, Australia, Ireland, Portugal, Austria, Italy, San Marino, Belgium, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, Liechtenstein, Slovenia, Denmark, Luxembourg, Spain, Finland, Monaco, Sweden, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, New Zealand and United Kingdom

Good Luck with meeting up for Christmas! I really hope you do get to :)
