  1. it will be my interview this May 14, 2013 and Im really anxious on what will going to be the result?

I worked in saudi last 2008 until 2010, if they will asked me if i worked abroad shall I say yes? i dont have any police clearance from saudi.. will they be asking that?

Found this from travel state site:

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9727

    Police Records

Police clearances are available for Saudi citizens and resident third country nationals. Saudi citizens currently residing overseas must return in person to process the police clearance.

Saudi citizens and third country nationals residing in the Kingdom process the police clearances by first obtaining a police clearance request letter from U.S. Embassy Riyadh, U.S. Consulate General Jeddah, or U.S. Consulate General Dhahran. This police clearance request letter, signed by a consular officer, must be attested by the Saudi Ministry of Affairs (current fee is SR30). The applicant must then appear personally with a passport-sized photograph and a national ID or residency permit at the regional Criminal Investigation Department for fingerprinting. Fingerprinting for women is done in a separate room. The police clearance should be available for collection after a week or two.

Police clearances are available for Saudi nationals residing outside of the Kingdom. The expatriate Saudi citizen obtains the police clearance by returning to the Kingdom and obtaining a police clearance request letter from U.S. Embassy Riyadh, U.S. Consulate General Jeddah, or U.S. Consulate General Dhahran. This police clearance request letter, signed by a consular officer, must be attested by the Saudi Ministry of Affairs (current fee is SR30). The applicant must then appear personally with the attested police clearance request letter, a passport-sized photograph and a national ID at the Regional Criminal Investigation Department for fingerprinting. Fingerprinting for women is done in a separate room. The police clearance should be available for collection after a week or two.

Police clearances are unavailable for third country nationals who no longer reside in the Kingdom.

The optimal time to conduct these procedures at the police stations is 10:00 Saturdays-Wednesdays.

  2. In my experience, I only got 2 NSO birth certificates. One for my K-1 interview & one for my own record. For all my immigration paper works from AOS upto citizenship, I got by with just sending photocopies of my birth certificate & never had a problem doing so. The only time I needed 2 more certified copies of BC was when I decided to petition for my parents which we didn't really originally plan in doing.

But if your girl wants to have multiple copies of her BC then that's fine.

  3. Oh, so I am the one who's supposed to mail everything? So in the cover letter, am I the one who should sign it? (stating that I am the one mailing it?) Thanks

It is easier to do it that way, coz you need to include the Bar-coded cover sheet.

Need to include your certified copy of marriage certificate as proof of "name change".

Click on the links I provided above.

  4. Yes, your mom has to fill up DS-230, needs her signature in Part I (page 2) & not sign the Part II (page 4).

    Yes, all her civil documents:

    1. certified copy of NSO birth certificate and photocopy

    2. certified copy of NSO marriage certificate and photocopy

    3. photocopy of bio-page of her passport

    4. NBI clearance (Travel Abroad - green) & photocopy

    5. Two (2) pcs 2 x 2 visa photos ( write Name, DOB, & MNL case # at the back)

    6. Annulment or Divorce decree or Death Certificate ( IF applicable) & photocopy

    7. Police Clearance from abroad If she has resided or worked abroad)

She needs to send all of those listed above to YOU.

You then need to print out Bar-coded Cover sheet from the payment portal.

    Make your cover letter

Include certified copies of your NSO birth certificate & marriage certificate & photocopies.

P.S. Have your mom get certified copy of your Birth certificate from NSO when she go there to get hers.

  5. Just an update. I went to LBC today to try to send docs and at this point in time they do not have that service. They said that they are scheduled to re-instate air service the end of May but that I should call first to confirm. So right now they only do sea shipping. I don't know whether this is just the Portland branch or LBC USA in general.

I didn't know that. My recent transactions were money remittances thru the Tambayan LBC agent. The last two balikbayan boxes transactions were by pick up since we didn't want to drive all the way to their new location close to the airport.

  6. Your daughter is exempted from attending the CFO seminar.

For children 12 years old and below are exempted from attending the PDOS.

After your daughter gets her visa she is only required to register in CFO. The registration fee is 400 pesos.

    Requirements for Registration

    1. Original and photocopy of passport (must be valid about six months before date of travel)
    2. Original and photocopy of visa
    3. One (1) 2x2 or passport-size photograph
    4. One (1) valid identification card with photograph (eg., SSS ID, GSIS E-card, PRC ID, driver's license, postal ID, ARC, etc.)
    5. Photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for USA-bound emigrant (must not be detached from visa packet)
    6. Payment of P400.00 registration fee

  7. Then, I guess I really have no choice but to keep it. laughing.gif Was worth a shot asking though.

And yes, the legal name change here is a long process. Grar at Spaniards.

Ok, then just to be clear:

When getting and/or applying for SSN/EAD/AP/AOS, I would use this format?

    First Name: Maria Erika

    Middle Name: Reyes

    Last Name: Smith

No issues with having a two-part first name, right?

You won't have any issues whatsoever with having two first names. I have two first names & I've used them in all my paper works.

I am now using my father's surname ( my former maiden name) as my middle name therefore dropping my mom's maiden name ( my former middle name). Overall, didn't encounter any issues with US govt agencies etc.

  8. Does anyone know if the USEM in Manila requires the benficiary to bring a copy of the I-864 packet with them to the interview, shouldn't they already have it on hand from the NVC?

    Thanks in advance,

My parents had their IR-5 interview yesterday & USEM didn't ask for I-864 AOS & supporting documents. No other civil documents were asked either.

    http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3217.html

The I-864 AOS is NOW VALID INDEFINITELY ONCE IT HAS BEEN SIGNED (this is a change from the previous requirement of being valid for one year). In other words, applicants will no longer need to submit a new I-864 AOS or new tax forms due to long processing delays between the date of the signature of the I-864 AOS and the date of the interview.

  9. Hi there,

I just have a question on the ST luke extension clinic.MANILA My mom received her interview letter from the (NVC)embassy. Do they send another letter for the medical exam to show the clinic? or do I just use the letter for interview for the medical test?

    Thanks

The NVC letter is what SLEC would want to see. Have your mom print 3 copies of that. They want the letter that has the case number MNL with the name of the applicant. Short bond paper for photocopies of passport biographic page and the NVC letters. SLEC will not accept the photocopies otherwise if it wasn't short bond papers.

  10. Update about my parents interview on May 2nd. USEM didn't ask for an updated I-864 Affidavit of Support documents. No other civil documents were asked either. The Consular Officer was very nice & only asked a few questions:

    1. Name of the petitioner.

    2. How many kids?

    3. What is the job of the petitioner's husband?

    4. When was the last time my parents have seen their daughter (me) in person.

    5. Do they see their grandchildren on the internet/computer regularly. The CO jokingly asked are they cute? lol

When I sent the IV packets to NVC I included two certified copies of my marriage certificate. USEM handed one of it to my parents. Don't know why.

  11. Everyone who posted here knows that the OP's N-400 application is based on 5 yr residency. What we are trying to tell him is he has to inform USCIS about his change in marital status because when they print out his Certificate of Naturalization his marital status will reflect as SINGLE when in fact he is already married before his interview. Wouldn't it be better to have this straightened out now so when he files a petition for his wife his paper works are in order?

  12. Unfortunately, your wife will have to fill up a new DS-230. I had the same thing happened to my mom's DS-230. It had incomplete information for that question #30. It delayed the processing by a few weeks. But once NVC received the new DS-230, after 8 business days me (petitioner) & my parents (applicants) received the interview appointment email. The interview date was scheduled a month later. It does happen fast.

  13. Hi let it be

    I got my noa1 april 23,

Do you have any idea how long to get a noa2?

And also whats the diffierent of NBC service to cali, vermont..

    Tnkd

Sorry it had taken me this long to reply. For those of us who filed IR-5 between August & November, we were lucky to have our petitions approved in less than 4 months. These were the cases that were routed to National Benefits Center (NBC). Our receipt (NOA1) starts with MSC (Missouri Service Center). I've noticed some who filed around December were getting approved after 4 months. You are probably going to be approved by July or August. It's really just a guess.

  14. Its really interesting this Visa Journey process. The US Traveldocs site allows me to create a profile for my SPOUSE. They ask if we are K-1 or CR-1. I select CR-1. No where on the site does it ask me for the missed appointment date or previously scheduled appointment date. Now, of course maybe common sense does not always work but why does the US goverenment allow me to create a profile and set an appointment date and time if they really don't allow this? I am so confused. Again this process does not make sense.

I understand what your saying. Even though my parents IR-5 interview was scheduled by NVC, in the ustraveldocs site there was no record of them even having that schedule. It's like the profile I created there couldn't be connected with that of what NVC & the USEM had scheduled. The profile is solely all about what information we put there.

  15. I think this part is a #######-shoot just like anything else in this process. To give you a reference point though, NVC received my IV packet on 4/17 (AOS was already approved) and the case completed on 4/29 (9 business days). I had to call to find out though. I called every day after waiting a week, and each time they said to me 5-20 business days processing.

In case you didn't know...if you are waiting for a notice that your case was completed, you won't get one. The next notice you will get, is an email saying you got an interview date (and who knows when that is).

I also didn't get a case complete email from NVC. My parents (applicants) & I (petitioner) received only the actual Interview Appointment letters (email).

  16. I have sent docs and even a Xmas present via USPS with no problems. However when my fiance sent docs to me she used LBC and I was shocked to receive them in my mailbox in 3 days! So it's good to know that LBC is here in Portland, where I also reside.

Yes, it only takes 3 days for the parcels to be delivered. DHL delivers it to the home address.

The one here in Portland is at:
