  1. i take it that is not the same as the letter she has recived? also what about the ds230 do i need to send that off or do i have to wait for my wife to do the above?

    once again thank you

That is what NVC is asking your wife (the petitioner) to submit. The Affidavit of support packet. Has your wife been invoiced with the IV bill & has paid that one too? If not, you have to send off the AOS packet first, then after that is reviewed, they will invoiced the IV Bill. After paying the IV Bill, that's when you the beneficiary can send off your IV Packet to your wife. She then prints off the Bar coded Cover sheet from the payment portal & sends off the DS-230 form & civil documents to NVC.

  2. The petitioner has to submit the I-864 Affidavit of Support packet:

    1. I-864 Bar coded Cover Sheet (print it off from payment portal)

    2. Fill out I-864 Form

    3. Recent Tax transcript or the last 3 years of tax transcripts

    4. Letter of Employment

    5. Pay stubs (recent 6 months)

You will know the address where to send this packet from the Bar coded cover sheet.

  3. Im not sure what to do after i got my noa2... I already read the guides and i also searched on the forum.. But i am a bit confused...

How long will it take before nvc receives my case? And what happens when they receive it, do i need to wait for a letter from the embassy i am going to or can i start on something as soon as i get my nvc case number?

I want my process to go as fast as possible, even one day could change alot in my case...

    Thanks for your help

Email NVCInquiry@state.gov regarding your case. Provide information such as CIS receipt number, petitioner's name & date of birth, beneficiary's name, date of birth and country of birth. You can write on the subject line your CIS receipt number.

  4. This happens more often in USE Manila than you all think. I have read 2 cases here in VJ & 1 case in another forum. All of the beneficiaries have interviews scheduled in USEM that they didn't attend. They all assumed that if they didn't show up for the interviews that the said petitions/cases will be considered abandoned. The (ex fiance) petitioners didn't formally cancel the said petitions. So the beneficiaries were denied when they had their 2nd petition/visa applications (with their current fiance's). Please try to search here in VJ a case like this that happened last year.

  5. I would recommend that your fiancee have a relative or friend accompany her & her child when they have their medical exam. The guards in SLEC will allow a companion in because she has a child with her.

For CFO, there are limited number of slots for the seminar, that entails getting up early & being there at the crack of dawn. I doubt CFO will allow the child to sit in during the seminar, as we all know they get easily bored or will be too hyper to stay quiet.

I agree with the others, do the medical & CFO in one trip which will be a week before the interview. The 2nd trip will be the interview. Third trip to get the CFO stickers preferably a day before their flight.

This scenario is realistic considering there is a minor child.

  6. Oppps, didn't realize the OP's case is K-1 visa rofl.gif

Lately, I have just seen this same question being asked in Phils thread.

  7. During my parents medical last month, SLEC told them to submit a NVC letter the next day.. I think it wouldn't have mattered if they submitted it the next day or not because they are already done with the 1st day of the medical. But my parents sure didn't wanna take the chance. lol

  8. Recently, SLEC have been asking for the NVC letter that has the applicant's MNL case number.& name. One can still proceed with the 1st day of medical & will just have to bring the letter the next day.

  9. You can avail of the Balikbayan 1 yr visa free stay upon entering the Philippines with your Filipina wife. Just show your marriage certificate & they will stamp the BB on your passport.

    http://www.philippineconsulate.com.au/balikbayan-one-year-visa-free-stay.html

Balikbayans – any overseas Filipino returning to the Philippines, including former Filipinos who have acquired foreign citizenship – can stay in the Philippines without a visa for a period of one year. The balikbayan visa-free stay privilege is extended to the balikbayan’s non-Filipino spouse and children, provided they enter the Philippines with the balikbayan.

Former Filipino balikbayans traveling to the Philippines are advised to bring either their old Philippine passport or copy of Philippine birth certificate as proof of their former Philippine citizenship. Accompanying family members of the balikbayan can bring appropriate supporting documents:

    • For the spouse: copy of marriage certificate
    • For each child: copy of birth certificate
    • For adopted children: copy of adoption papers

Philippine Law (R.A. 9174) provides benefits to baikbayans:

    • Tax-exempt maximum purchases in the amount of USD 1,500, or the equivalent in Philippine and other currency, at Philippine Government–operated duty free shops
    • Exemption from Travel Tax, provided that their stay in the Philippines is one year or less. If their stay in the Philippines exceeds one year, Travel tax will apply to them.
  10. Yes she would have to pay the travel tax. She should apply for her US Citizenship if she's been in the US for 3 years that way she won't have to pay the travel tax next time she goes back smile.png I believe its like 1k+ pesos for the travel tax and 550pesos for terminal fee.

That's not true! Green card holders are EXEMPTED from paying the Travel Tax if their stay is less than a year in the Philippines. Refer to the link: http://www.tieza.com.ph/pages-who-can-avail-of-travel-tax-exemption--reduced-rate-and-what-are-the-documents-required.php

True, if she is a naturalized US citizen, she won't pay Travel tax.

EVERYONE has to pay the Terminal Fee.

  11. I'd suggest you go to CFO the day before your flight. You are going to be really exhausted at the end of that day. Having to get up early so you can be there at the crack of dawn to make it for the limited number of slots & the seminar taking up the whole morning or afternoon. Then another long line for the registration. It doesn't matter if your flight is later at night. Get a good night sleep & relax prior to your flight.

  12. LOL! I can imgaine, thats why I said "a bit'. The immigration part is less hassle for now.

Hubby is coming in Monday morning by God's grace and I dnt even have energy to receive him.

i am trying to print out all the necessary forms for SSN, DMV/state ID etc cos I know I wont be in the best condition to drive him around for the next couple of weeks.

I had planned to make some fresh meals and possibly rearrange the bedroom a bit but those ideas are already flying out of my head cos I cant even lift myself right now LOL.

I can relate!!! My due is this first week of June. I wanna do some general cleaning of the whole house. But I can't muster the energy to do so. I am just getting by the weekly cleaning. The closets need to be overhauled. lol

That's great your hubby is arriving in a couple of days! How exciting! My parents flight is this last week of May!

  13. Green card holders are exempted from paying the travel tax. Suppose to pay only the Travel Tax Exemption of 200 pesos.

    http://www.tieza.com.ph/pages-who-can-avail-of-travel-tax-exemption--reduced-rate-and-what-are-the-documents-required.php

Filipino permanent residents abroad whose stay in the Philippines is less than one (1) year.

    1. Copies of the ID pages of passport and stamp of last arrival in RP
    2. Proof of permanent residence in foreign country (e.g. US Green Card, Canadian form 1000, etc.)
