  1. Don't give mrs jibowo a hard time, she was just trying to turn it around as the "lovely couple" are out to scam someone & obviously mrs jibowo figured that out before anyone else!

All of us are on here regarding ligitimate visa issues, help & support eachother...this is a tough time for everyone being separated from our loved ones then you get a$$holes like that, looking for a good-hearted soul that pities them!

VJ members have shown support & dedication to helping others even long after they've completed the process, some are still there to assist & give advice. I may not have posted much here but I am definitely learning from everyone sharing information...thank you to everyone...anyone who isn't legit, get out of our "home"...

    Cheers hun,

I give you a double AMEN ON THAT - and if your in Orlando and scamming watch out im on your #######...... This whole site is so supportive and with nonsense on what you posted if "its is true" then forgive but after re-reading the whole thread, me thinks you should be thinking about leaving the USA as you give the rest of us a bad reputation during the time that all we want is our loved ones here and we are doing it the right legal way. PERIOD!!!!

  2. Yes, there is a way to track cashing of a money order but it is extremely difficult. You need to contact the issuer of the money order and they can look at the cashing records for you. Typically they want to wait 90-days BEFORE they'll search for you but this varies by company.

NOT THE EASIEST TASK but it's not impossible~ Policies vary by company!

Thank you guys. I bought the money order from my account bank. I guess I can go to them and try my luck. Thanks again.

GL - I got mine from check cashing place and I can call and see if its been cashed daily with the number on the receipt. They are only 3 to 5 days behind in posting so again gl and cheers

  3. Hi all

Our package was delivered to uscis on 26th november and still the cheque has not been encashed.

I am worried that noa1 will be delayed...Does the cheque gets encashed very late.

As per VJ,the timeline for noa1 is 10-11 days.

    Please advise

    Thanks

Sometime it can take 2 weeks for the check to clear. I wouldnt worry until then.

ummm in some cases months dont worry......read august filers thread please to clarify your concerns

    Cheers

    Susie

ps ours sent late august and some friends early september, check or money order still not cashed - dont worry until january at he very earliest.

  4. We have had a bit of trouble when getting the letter from BofA for the I134, only a few days delay though so its no big deal!

Also, i agree with the person a few comments back - citi is the best for international transfers! I have a Citi account (US$ Savings or something like that) but i can transfer money from my accounts here in UK to it, no charges and better rates than any company (intercharge, xe etc). Then i just get my OH to get cash out from the citi ATM and put it in our BofA...then we can pay off all these black friday bills!!

I will be using this in the future, as checks are so inconsistent and these holding periods and charges that come with them are a joke

There is no Citibank in Orlando :crying:

True and I have BofA and hubby does transfer from Barclays Bank in England so they process within two days on a regular check wow - but they have been good with everything.

    Cheers

  5. you know i was thinking about that .... i am assuming the application in CSC/VSC is still in a bin somewhere not entered into the system ... overnighting a duplicate application to chicago lockbox might be faster that waiting for CSC of NVC

    what do u guys think

Well I believe that the only reason USCIS is having ALL forms go to the Chicago lockbox is because CSC and VSC can no longer house applications that are coming thru their doors and just sitting in a pile. What I am assumming is that the current mailroom at CSC and VSC is overwhelmed and flooded with apps that just keep coming in and piling up. This probably makes it much difficult to get the receipting in a timely fashion when the mailroom is constantly overworked. So they implemented the Chicago Lockbox(CLB) so that apps can stop coming into their mailroom before they are ready to process them.

I think this is a good move. It may help in the organinzation process plus allieve the stress of the workers there so they dont just up and quit from all of the frustration. I am assuming CLB will start housing all applications until said service center is ready to receive them. Maybe CLB will start issuing out NOA1's too so that people can at least know that their application was received safely. I don't think this means CLB apps will get processed faster than the apps at CSC or VSC, but they could receive an NOA1 before others. There apps are still just sitting in a que waiting to get shipped off to the designated service center. I think this process is just for organizational and catch-up purposes. They obviously have workers at CLB who will be alleviating the work load from the service center workers, so maybe the service center workers can then start focusing on actually processing the apps.

Yes on trying to help the backlog and proces what is outstanding but the receipts will still come from appropritae area of filing aka CSC or VSC as per memo.

And i also agree good move, l think it may help.... ok need another paddle for our canoe lol

    Cheers hun

    Hun,

hang in there we are in the same boat, I would not suggest that but oh hell who knows anymore - but the applications going to Chicago will still be routed to the appropriate office aka VSC or CSC or did i read that memo wrong. No here it is....

Petitions filed with the Chicago Lockbox will be routed to, and adjudicated at, the appropriate USCIS Service Center. This routing will be based on the petitioner’s place of residence in the United States

  7. I really enjoyed reading your post! Congrats on your first year anniversary!

Oh don't get me started

    ....from a Dawn :P

Well when i met my Fiancee she (and all the other locals that i introduced myself to!) originally thought my name was Don, even though i said it was Dan! Ever since then i always say my name is Daniel and not Dan, for that one reason!

LOL great post and my husband will luv it. Thanks for sharing and congrats yes on your first year - now if I can teach him to keep the "h" in his words lol - oh heck, who cares,

    Cheers and still lol

  8. Has anyone submitted a congressional inquiry into the long processing times at the CSC?

Yes and got my request form about an hour ago wow dejavue!!!

I know that they can not help me per se right now since I am in limbo but I want them to at least be aware of the issue on the delays ( they are probably aware im sure but just want to pound the point a bit) and maybe they can at least help someone in my district here in Florida who is beyond sane.

    Cheers

    Susie

My friend from VJ got his from the Senator Martinez today so we both are pushing, but again Im going to be good, I promised the forum no more biotching for awhile and also my hubbie altho he just laughs and says sure sure sure hun.

  9. Wow alot there to sort through - emotions, financial and life in general.

You may want to take some time to rethink what exactly you want from life, for the clue to me is that you posted the story for feedback. That itself is an admittance of doubt somewhere, so even tho my hubbie is so damn supportive - god what an angel - it could happen to anyone.

Try to sit back and sort this thing out, the festival money, ummmm.......understand culture but he must try to understand your culture also. Its a give and take thing on marriage and if he is aware of your financial situation then he should have tried to ease out of that one and I am thinking his family would know of his financial woes. yes????

Your decision is solely your own, no words of people from a forum are going to change your final decision, but let me say this......tell him you will go there for a year to give the marriage a good shot and if you feel that at the end of that year it will then go for it. Sounds like you can come back to the states and get another job (at least above the guidelines) and start your application. But at least you can ease your fears if you go, he accepts that and you both try to work this out.

Otherwise you will be filled with these doubts for a long time to come and that is not a good start especially with the visa journey you are about to undertake. Its a tough road, financial and emotional and you will need some support from him with one or the other, hopefully both.

Just my two pence worth but I do wish you the very best of luck in whatever road your journey takes you......

    Cheers

    Susie

p./s as my hubbie says,,,, most people take the road marked freeway or expressway, I always take the road that says "under construction" - life is a meant to be a thrill, just be prepared to pay for that ride in one way or the other.

  10. I will give you the 10%. Give me your bank account number and contact informaiton. i will wire the money to your account. Send the informaiton to my private email.

    Thanks :jest:

Ekk by the sounds of the bail amount I would say get an immigration attorneyand criminal lawyer balled into one if at all possible, but I am here in Orlando and working with law enforcment, would say the story is somewhat ummmm...interesting and confusing.

  12. What makes you think your case is lost?

    Lack of NOA maybe?

No there are quite a few of us waiting since august for this little item - I made the call, did a tracer and got email yesterday and it stated...you are not in the system, please provide us with your receipt number.....ummm hello that was the jest of the tracer lol.

Not going to get upset anymore, let it take its course cause their are too many of us and they will get caught up. I was on the mindset that it was lost until I spoke with some people and their timeframes.

Good luck to you and for now I would not refile. IMOW tho. And no I was never told about the new file being assigned to someone to expedite since we are not in that timeframe yet and I think its there, just buried with alot of other app's.

    Cheers

    Susie

look at my timeframe and some others and the threads for august sept filers and you will see what is going on. BE PATIENT and yes i hate that sentence but am applying it now for nothing much else we can do right now.

  13. I shouldn't have taken a nap today because its after midnight and I am wide awake. So, I decided to take a look at the USCIS processing delays and focus my attention on CSC and VSC to see what I can figure out. These are my thoughts:

California is up to date with 'all other forms' (not sure exactly what is included in that category, but I assume the I-129's are in there). CSC has also made made some serious progress in the I-175 category and at their current pace, should be up to date by next week. The N-400's are about 2 weeks behind, but over the last 3 weeks, they have gained about 90 days on their backlog, which only leaves the I-130 to catch up on. The I-130's haven't budged since 10/19 when they only gained 18 days and haven't moved since.

Vermont is current with their 'all other forms' but is lagging behind with the N-400's. The last update, they decreased their backlog on N-400's by a little over a month. Their I-130's are stagnant at end of July and haven't moved at all that I can tell (only going back to mid Sept). I suspect Vermont is working on the N-400s and 'all others' exclusively and should be caught up with the N-400s within 2 weeks. Not sure, but VSC doesn't list I-175s, so perhaps they don't process them at that location.

So, my projection: Both Cali and Vermont will spend this week (Dec 3 - 7, 2007) working on their N-400s while keeping their 'all others' current. Cali will also work on bringing the I-175's current this week. I am not sure if Cali will assist Vermont with their I-130 backlog or not, but there is a disparity of 30 days between Cali and Vermont with Cali ahead in the game. My thought is if Cali doesn't assist Vermont, both service centers should be hitting the I-130s hard within 2 weeks and the NOA-1's will be hitting the mail boxes fast and furious by the week of Dec 17. Of course, that is right around the holidays, so perhaps right after Jan 1 is when we will see real progress.

One can only hope that the I-130 filers are closer to the end of the tunnel than the beginning in getting their NOA-1's.

LOL hun, you sound like me but tis my job also to analyze - but hope that you are right. Can only hope right?

Something that crossed hairs yesterday was this - or could be mistaken, but read something where effective today all I-130's are to be sent to Chicago or maybe misinterpted what I read - so many changes each day sorta tough to keep up with USCIS - now I am not not sure what that means, but ???? Anyone's take on this and comments appreciated as I can only guess why they will go there and not to to the usual sorting areas aka CSC and VSC after today's date.

But again thanks for your thoughts and will keep positive for the next few weeks.

Cheers and hang in there, we are all in this canoe together - but I think we need more paddles lol

    Susie

I would think that the new regualtions effective today to send all I-130s to the Chicago lockbox address are in effect to help Vermont catch up. With all the apps going to Chicago, they can distribute the work load to bring both service centers to somewhere near the same processing dates.

Would only seem to be fair hun, but then again its USCIS who knows....but yes makes sense.....yawns and makes coffee and wishes everyone a good day with good news on this process.

    Cheers

  14. ITIN - W-7

John and Marlene - wow quick post - have a question but sure it has been posted many times before-

Married but husband overseas no SSN - do i file married seperately or do I go through the single route - I am not messing up at this point. ((I am the USC fyi and just file federal no state here in Florida)

If I do filed married seperately as I recall they want souse name and SSN? YES?? Heck i hate tax time. Another area that I totally hate

    Cheers

    Susie

  15. Im curious about the 1-way ticket (1) month before you got married. You really intended to return, right? :innocent:

Curious.... why did you one have a one-way ticket?

Was just reading this thread and was wondering about something and yes Im sorry for your situation.

Since I am a frequent flyer as many of my mates are also, I know of no one that can travel to another country without a round trip ticket in their possession. Maybe its differnt in your country, but I do not think so. I believe that you must have a round trip ticket in order to do that, could be wrong, but have been told this many times from different sources aka, lawyers, flight agents, customs etc. No I have never done that for my intentions are always to come home on a certain date.

Just curious and again sorry for your situation. Hope you sort it out soon.

    Cheers

    Susie

  16. Thank you for sharing

Thanks for giving us this info. The shared assets is a little difficult to prove when you live on the other side of the ocean from someone. I seriously hope they take that into consideration.

    Divine,

You are correct. I spoke with my husband ( yes hes in the UK im here and thats the story hun) today saying ok i cant put u on this cause ya need a social security number and such but we have joint bank accounts, credit cards both names, lease in both names etc./ Pics, letters emails, and such. They have to realize this but the bank account and lease seemed to be a strong point with the professor as it has been mentioned in many threads prior to this.

Cheers hun and hang on for this ride...

  17. Thank you for sharing

More than welcome and even thou the conversation went on for a half hour or so and she was great actually beyond great, I sorta just put the jest of the communication here. I know that most of us are aware of these issues, but it made sense to me about where my applications could be and such.

Hope it helps a few that did not.

Cheers and gl to all that are waiting for their real journey to begin,,,,, that being with their loved ones.

    Susie

  18. Cheers all,

I will try to word this correctly as it really lifted me out of a funk that I know so many of you are going through at this time with regard to USCIS and their delays.

Having a contact at USC (Uni.of Southern Calf)she gave me some information today that made me think a littel more positive on the delay issue on our K3's and receipt delays in particular.

We started with my issue of delays in NOA1's for K3 petitions etc. She said that (and she was speaking for CSC) that they are YES BACKLOGGED. But she went on to explain the process of how they receive the applications via truck to their mailroom which is about a 40x40 cube and how those applications are then date stamped and placed onto a conveyor belt to be entered into the system. The building is shaped somewhat like a pyramid and so the mess starts at the top. Sometimes an adjusticator grabs one and processes and sometimes when backlogged they go into their appropriate filing area, i.e, I 130 I129f and so forth until they are ready to be processed for receipt.

She said that yes they are hiring 1500 more peeps, but they wont be up to speed until Jan or Feb which makes sense. She also said that we basically filed at the wrong time as we were after the deadline but in the midst of the storm per se. USCIS is funded basically out of our fees that we pay and they can only do so much, but that their CSR can only say what they THINK they know and that you probably get better service from Nordstroms with accurate information.

She said to be patient, its going to take some time for them to catch up with this mess, its sorta like a boa constrictor. Prior to July, the boa ate his normal meal of bunnies, cats, dogs and mice. However after July, the boa got hungry and ate a cow. Well he got clogged and that is what happened to our system, but most of you have figuered this out by now. So its going to take a few months to unclog the system but in the long run, be patient, and be aware that the thrust of USCIS is security, they are of the mindset that 80% of applications are false and that bonafide marriages need to be proven with co mingling of assets. These are not my words, they are hers and she teaches there along with some other professors from other colleges that have an interest in what is going on. Do not fault me for saying this, I am just trying to show their is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The good thing and yes we are aware of this also is that they will continue to honor the receipt date of application. YEAH!!! For things being processed out of order, it was the luck of the draw per se and nothing we can do about this. Also without a receipt number Congressman Senator etc cant have much help besides sending an inquiry as to what is going on.

I did get back my trace email today from CSC - lol - they said no you are not in the sytem, please give us your receipt number and we can go forth - ohhhhh - I thought that was the whole jest of the converstation that I did not have one. Im learning here, but the one good thing that the professor said was keep the email and when u do get your receipt number, call them out on it. Should be funny to see.

So please all, I know that I rant and rave here alot more than most, but I will be good for awhile and hope that mid December or early January sees a boost in both service centers catching up.

Cheers and yes there was more to the conversation, but thought this was somewhat upbeat. Just remember to have proof of your marriage being real, for this is their main concern Some people will go through this effort without much being aksed for, but I guess to be prepared than to be caught by surprise/

Cheers all and Patience is a Virtue, darn i hate that one :innocent:

  19. Hello Everyone,

I was wondering how can I sign up to get email Notifications from USCIS regarding both my Petitions I-130 & I-129F, I tried to search the whole web site and I can not find how to do this.. I get normal notification when the web site in general is updated but not how to get Individual status email, like everyone seems to have when they mention “touched”. Any help would be Great! I am going CRAZY with all this waiting. I haven't been able to go see my Husband in one year :crying: and I thought I would enjoy this forum for support.

    Look forward to anyone's help!

    Thank you

    Nita

Thank hun will keep you updated. Had a super great conversation with professor at USC today with regard to USCIS and what is going on. Will post soon but its super informative.

    Cheers

  20. Have they cashed the check yet? If they have, you can look up the cashed check and see if there is a receipt # written on it. If not, you will have to call them and explain to them that you don't have a receipt. If they do have your application on file, they will tell you that they will mail out your NOA1 within 30 days (which in reality is more like 60). If they don't have your application on file, you will have to file again and cancel the first check.

    Diana

This was true before the receipting delays. Unfortunately, since USCIS became inundated with petitions they have months worth of backlogged petitions which haven't even had their cheques cashed yet. These people are in limbo until USCIS get to their envelope. There is no point filing another when USCIS can't even get to the first one :(

Noooo dont cancel application or check - its just a waiting game for alot of us right now from August on, but dont do that. You will go back in line for god knows how long. The only thing they can do is put a tracer, but I think that is pretty useless right now....just hang in and check the thread for August September October filers on this./ Can you give you some laughs (which we all need right now) and also some comfort in knowing what to expect.

Cheers hun and hang in there.

    Susie

  21. Wow, I remember those days. What we did? We talked, talked, and talked some more. Exchanged pics regularly. Chatted, webcammed, texted. I included her in every part of my day, small things like what my work schedule was, how things are going, stories from the day...she did the same with me also so now we sort of joke about our daily "updates". The last couple of months, we've been kind of working on how we want to make our home look, she has been buying some traditional things and sort of planning how she would like things to lay out and look.

The waiting can be very, very frustrating, we have used the time to learn to know each other, grow together, and have pretty much laughed our way through spotty internet/phone service, dropped calls, delayed text messages, and general technological issues that further aggravate the problem of maintaining closeness at a distance.

We're done, at least with filing, all we need is NVC/issue to Embassy, then we can interview and end this separation. It wasn't easy.

Good luck to both of you

    Regards,

    David and Nitadyah

Hang in there hun, we are in the same boat and dont see the end of the tunnel yet. What has really helped us alot is that we have Yahoo IM with cam (ooopsie) and mics and speakers. So even tho I may be working (self employed) or even cleaning the house, I leave the speaker on so its like he is here. Does not help when you go to bed at night but in time, this all will become a distant nightmare and you can say that we went thru some pretty stuff, we are stronger together.

    Good Luck

    Susie
