  1. What if my wife's I130 reaches the NVC months before my daughter's? That is what I'm trying to avoid. I realize they are separate entities in the eyes of the USCIS, but others have posted that they were able to link 2 related apps. Maybe a waste of time, but it can't hurt to try.
  2. I changed my original reply as I wasn't sure about my comment regarding filing an I129f for the child. Everything I have read indicates that I only file the I129f for my spouse because the objective is not to get a K3 for her, but to accelerate her I130 approval. Likewise, I am not trying to get a K4 for my stepdaughter, just to accelerate her I130 approval. Regarding my calling the USCIS, I won't be calling about the I129f, only about linking my wife's and stepdaughter's I130s.
  3. THANK YOU, very much. We're at the "excited at starting the process" stage. I'm sure we'll visit all the different stages of frustration and dismay. I'm hopeful that the 129f trick will speed things up substantially, but prepared for the long haul. As we all know, we can only do what we can do.
  4. You would think that since we put "Other Petition" information in the application that they would figure that out and link them.
  5. Yes, I included a copy of the NOA receipt, although I only included the receipt for my wife's I130
  6. I don't expect the 129f to be approved. The I129f will be declined, but its filing seems to call attention to the applicant and somehow accelerates approval of the I130. Several here have accelerated the approval of their I130 by also filing a I129F. Take a look at @simplytex's timeline. He got an interview scheduled in a little more than 11 months by filing an I129F immediately after filing his I130. @moscowmojo got his I130 interview scheduled 6 months after filing I130. There are a few more who have done the same.
  7. Two days ago, I submitted an I130 application for my Russian wife and a separate I130 for her daughter, now my stepdaughter (we got married 3/3/23). Today, I mailed off an I129f Spouse application for the purpose of speeding up the approval of my wife's I130 application, as several have done here. I have a question about my stepdaughter's I130. If the I129f speeds up the approval of my wife's I130, will it have any effect on my stepdaughter's I130 application? If not, is there any way to link or merge my stepdaughter's I130 app with her mothers?
  8. Getting ready to submit an I-130 and I-130a, plus an I-130 for stepdaughter. Is it better to fill out and file online or do you recommend that I mail it in. Thanks in advance!
  9. Ok, I've got the wedding done and now its time to get serious about the I-130 and I-130a. I've gone completely through both and have these questions... I-130 for Spouse Questions Page 3, Box 28 & 34 - Petitioner’s parents are deceased. What should I enter? (I put “deceased”) Page 4, Petitioner owns 2 businesses and have listed each in Employer 1 and Employer 2. The “Employer 2” box 49.b requires a date and won’t let me enter “PRESENT” in box 45.b. What date should I enter if I still own Employer 2? Page 7, Box 48, “Travel Document Number”. Should I enter the “control number” from the passport here? Page 8, Part 4, Box 57-58 - Should I fill this out for my Russian beneficiary? I think the Russian language uses “some” Roman letters, but other types, too. Do I need to list her in Russian language? Page 8, Part 4, Box 62a, which US consulate should I put here? Moscow or Warsaw? Something else? I-130a for Spouse Questions Page 2, Box 9a and 9b pertain to Box 8a-8f. Address listed is current address, but Box 9b requires a specific date. What do I put here? I-130 for Stepchild Questions What do I put in Part 4 about stepchild’s (Beneficiary’s) family? It says to put the “beneficiary’s spouse and children”. She has neither as she is an 11 yr old girl. Do I leave this section blanK then? Thanks in advance!
  10. Pushbrk, can we get her greencard issued in my surname without changing her Russian passport to my name? In another thread, there was a comment made that said the man's Russian born wife is now a US citizen and never changed her Russian passport and it still shows her former name. If we don't have to change my wife's Russian passport, that will be one less step in the process.
  11. I think that to change her name in Russia they need an original, apostilled Marriage Certificate. We've communicated with others who went through this process recently, including @simplytex. Thanks
  12. We will meet multiple times between now and the interview, but we want to get her passport updated now. I do understand we have until the interview.
  13. We are doing Utah zoom. We need the apostilled copy for my fiancé to change her name back in Russia.
  14. My fiancé and I are getting married online on March 3. She is Russian and we are meeting in Turkey for the ceremony. I will receive the marriage certificate back in the US about two weeks later (around March 17) and I need to get it to her in Russia. Is anyone planning a trip to Russia in late March or early April and willing to take the document? Maybe someone you know is going? Please contact me, if you know someone. Thanks!
  15. Thanks! We'll be together in Turkey for the ceremony.
  16. My fiance and I are getting married on March 3rd, 2023, using the Utah Online service. I expect to have a copy of the certified marriage certificate in my hands a few days later. I need to send one of the certified copies to my fiance in Moscow, as soon as possible after I receive it. Currently, what is the fastest way to get it there?
  17. Good point. We'll be sure to make the tickets in whatever name her active passport shows.
  18. Mods, if this needs to be combined with my other thread, I understand. The topic is unique to my other questions, but related. When my fiance and I get married she will apply for a new Russian passport. While she waits on her new passport, can she travel on her old passport?
  19. I know you already answered my question, but I should have added the fact that she has an active tourist visa. If she gets a new Russian passport with her new name, does that invalidate her tourist visa? If our marriage certificate lists her with my surname, but her passport still lists her with her previous name, will that cause problems with the CR1 process?
  20. Next month, my fiance' and I are getting married online. We will meet in Turkey, do the ceremony and legally consummate the marriage. We will file an I-130 shortly after our wedding. My fiance' is Russian and has a valid tourist visa. We are wondering when would be the optimal time to change her surname to mine. We have been told that changing her name would require her to get a new Russian passport and that changing her passport would invalidate her tourist Visa. Is that correct? Regarding the I-130, I have the following questions... If we decide to change her name concurrently with our wedding, do we file the I-130 in her new surname or old one? If the answer to the previous question is to file under her old surname, when do we notify the appropriate immigration authorities (USCIS or NVC) of her new name? If she doesn't change her surname and receives her greencard in her previous name, how difficult is it to change her surname after receiving her greencard? Thanks!
  21. My Russian fiance and I are getting married in a month and then we plan to file the i130 shortly after. Does she need to get her passport changed to her new name before we file the i130? What is the proper way of accounting for the name change in our application?
