Ok, in addition to the contacts sent to by the press release for the Hershey Kisses I sent info to Lou Dobbs, Associated Press, the Drudge Report, and WTOP News radio in DC. Anybody have any other ideas?

I guess a press release isn't all it takes and it seems to me that this is newsworthy?! Somebody should give us a little notice

I contacted the Washington Post about the article they had on the front page about 4 weeks ago about K1 Visas and aske about any follow up they would be doing....in fact that was how I found VJ.....and they said they had little response to the article even though they ran it front page......I was disappointed......so I thought about writing letters to the editors....but in this area people are crazy about illegal immigration and they are lumping us into that catagory...and then of course you have the woman from Lebenon who had a sham marriage and became a CIA operative....It could not be any worst timing.....I sent out email to all of the Congress and got a couple of auto response....Senator Martinez if Florida responded with a.....We know about USCIS...they are the worse agency in the government....If that is true then why is the Gonzalez guy still have his job??????.......I just want to rip something up.....augh........anyway I am calling my Congressman again....It has been 2 weeks since they told me that our file was assigned to a case worker......he or she must of gotten lost coming to work because I have nothing as of 20 minutes ago........Lora

Lora, when I called VSC they told me that they opened my case on october 24th, then I got a touch on october 31st and november 1st they gave us a RFE. It took 9 days so I'm sure your approval is coming very soon!!!

So they've been on training for the past two days???? They haven't sent me any e-mail notification saying the got my RFE!!!!!! NOTHING!!!! Pat sent it out on friday overnight so since it was a weekend and monday was a federal holiday I guess they got it on tuesday or yesterday but they've been on training for the past two days!!!! Come on VSC!!!!! Grab my RFE and send me an e-mail!!!!!!!

I went to get a new passport today, I already renew it once so I had to get a new one and I got there at 9.15am......you know what time I left!?!!!???!?!??!? 2 O'CLOCK!!!!!!!!

Thank God I had my Sudoku book with me and starbucks right around the corner!!!!!

Your endless energy and happiness is inspiring Mirla.......I just had a spat with Oscar on line....I am crumbling under the strain and it is starting to show in my life with Oscar....How do you keep the love flowing when life is not flowing good........It not like I can jump on a plane and fly to him.......this is the hardest situation I have ever been in....I am normally a fun loving easy going person....but this is making me crabby....anything you guys have done to make your special someone happy?????????.......

Pat was really stressed out last week about the RFE, car, work, etc.....we argued a lot the first two days and on wednesday I sent him balloons!!! Hahaha!

Two of them sayin, I love you, two smiley faces and one that said thank you.....The thing is that the delivery guy didn't check if the front door was unlock (and like I told them, it was) so he took it back to the store and delivered it on thursday and he found the balloons in the afternoon when he got home from work!

for his birthday in July I had our friends in Lima send him some flowers and chocolate and Pisco and a cigar with a video of me singing his favorite song....Killing me Softly....by the fugees......I use to sing in a band.....but after 2 years of trying to be creative and the frustration of VSC the well is dry....I hate to say it but Te Amo Mucho Mas.....or Tamm...or ILYVM...LYSM.....can only go so far and then I just ache my heart...my head......WHY IS THIS O.K.............My Senator married a woman for southeast asia and she came here on a K1 but I bet it never took her this long....and he did not even respond to my email for assistance........augh.......Lora

The lack of approvals this week is a BIG disappointment but at least there is now an explanation.

Does prior marriages and divorces hold this up? I would think they'd just do the name checks on each name, make sure the documents are in order and are done with it. If its an issue....Im in trouble.....

Yes they do check all names/aliases for the petitioner and beneficiary. What you are showing with the I-129f petition is that both you and your fiance are free to marry and that you have met in the last 2 years. So long as you can provide documentation supporting both of those assertions, and have a "clean" background, your petition will be approved. Depending on your circumstances, you may be subject to greater scrutiny at the consular level. Getting a petition approved is pretty easy, if time consuming. The actual visa can be more difficult if you are involved with someone from what is considered to be a "high fraud post" or have other red flags (see Bill y Bella's siggie for a link to common red flags). Just make sure you are well prepared with documentation showing you have a valid relationship and odds are you will be OK.

He's younger, from high fraud post, I've had more than one marriage, one of which was a man who was here on J1, we married while he was here before he went back, but I never filed K1, nor had to sponser him. However, we've been together 4 years with 5 visits, letters from my family notorized, letter from my EX notorized (cause the two have talked while I was in hospital), I have chat logs, phone logs (lots of those), emails, my license plate showing "amrsgrl" his yahoo profile showing from 2004 he acknowledged our love and relationship. We have postal mailings. We have pics. I think the best thing for us is that in spite of the age difference and where he is from, the way he will present at interview will overcome any issues. He is a calm, soft spoken man. People take to him instantly. His tall build, great smile and sweet personaility make him a hit with any stranger I've noticed. With that, his solid answers and all our evidence..Im hoping to overcome these obstacles. They can't tell us we can't be together...or marry...they can only tell us where we will end up living. We also have a long term relationship estabilished and did not jump in quickly to marriage or k1 application. No short courtship here. His parents and my parents approve and are ready to testify if ever asked. We talk to each others parents regurlary on phone and with mail. So there is a great multitude of ways we stay in contact and have built a complete family relationship in all levels. I hope the CO at the embassy can see this. God willing it will all work out..and work out fast.

I have the same issues.....I am older then Oscar....I have been married before....I have 5 children......Oscar has never been married...has no children is from a high fraud area but like your SO Oscar is educated, well spoken and so confident that even a real idiot can see we are for real.....Our relationship is 2 years old and we have 6 visits and loads of emails and chats and phone calls....but I am afraid that because the woman being older is not the norm that they will treat us differently.....I have always been nervous and concerned about this.........but I hope.....164 days with no word yet....Lora

My fear isn't the initial phase here..but at the consular level. But we addressed our age diff in the petition...legally the consulate can't use that to deny if USCIS has approved the petition with that information. However, they can FIND other reasons. I have 3 GROWN kids..2 GRANDSONS. (dont look it eh??) There is an 18 year age gap with us (dont look it eh??) . FIVE kids??? God bless you...wow....FIVE...I thought THREE was bad...LOL. I have been using international restrooms for many years and I still hate them all. why dont they keep water in the bowl??? Its cleaner that way. And what's up with the toilets that you actually stand on?? Seen these? Its like there are non-skid foot pads on the actual seat, for standing and welll.........hovering. Crazy! in Russia, you have to pay to use most toilets and paper is sometimes extra. hehehe.

So, i was hearing these prices about Egypt airfares and I was thinking it sounded crazy. I work at a travel agency and I looked up some Egypt airfares for Dec 20-Jan14 and I came up with about $2200. Sometimes its better to check with an agency, so maybe you guys can end up in Egypt for the holidays!

Well $2200 is still WAYYYYYYYYYY to much for me. I have two more trips planned. One in January...and one to go bring him home. I just noticed on that day I searched, that airfare was one of them...that WAS expedia.com LOL And it may have been the days I chose. Who knows..yes..Agencies can save money, I've heard that....but I prefer to fly only Egypt Air for many reasons...(Larger seats for my larger butt to start)

LOL Welllllllllllllllllllllllllll, I flew Air France and had HORRIBLE experiences with them...the airport is HORRIBLE. I hate all the transfers.....I fly Jet Blue from Washington DC to JFK...sit for hours..then fly again..sit for hours...fly again...bear in mind guys..Im a single WOMAN jet setting around the world....but more importantly...Egypt air is a DIRECT flight, no changes, no layovers and doesn't leave Cairo at 3:30 AM. But at a more reasonable hour of 10:30 AM. Bigger seats...great flights...friendly service...yeah...guess im a bit Brand happy on that one... :whistle:

Byron is 31 years old....He was born in Bogota Colombia and came to the US when he was 5 years old.....he grew up in Queens New York.....He is a Residential Manager in Manhattan New York where he lives also....He is suffering during this awful, stressfull K1 fiance visa process..he met his wife to be in Feb 2007 when he returned to Colombia for the first time since he was 10 years old....He has returned 4 times to Colombia to be with her and flew her to Panama once also.....He is spending a lot of his savings and is rnning low!!!!! .....He pras for his approval along with everyone else's approvals also!!!!!!!!!!!!! He would give anything to have Leidy and Daniel here decorating a Christmas tree together!!!!!!!!!

Alright peeps.. Been a long time since i have posted. Just lurking around in the midst and reading all your posts. First of all i would like to say congrats to all the recent approvals and wish the regular posters on this forum all the best and i hope you get your approvals soon.

Secondly, I decided to call VSC today just to talk to them even though i filed my I-129F on september 5th, and i got this really nice guy on the phone. I eased the questions on to him and got some valuable information.

He mentioned a few things we already know like - it would take anywhere between 3-6 months to approve applications and that they try there best to stick to that timeframe. But what surprised me the most is when he said that the most important check of all that is done is a "name check", regardless of what kind of name you have, whether its arabic, chinese, white, or etc. He also said that even though our cases lay dormant for a long time waiting to be looked at by an adjudicator, our cases are going through the "name check" process, so when it is actually looked at the process is easily done.

Now many of you may have already heard this before but it was definitely news to me being new to this process. I thought i should just post and let you all know..

I also mentioned to him (because i have a arabic name) will my process be longer than someone who's name is simple and he said it takes the same amount of time. Then i mentioned to him that i have been checked quite a few times by the FBI and other parties because i have worked atthe airport for quite a number of years and he stated "someone who has been through thorough checks like that previously, their cases will be adjudicated faster than someone who has never been checked" (Those were his words, take it with a grain of salt if you want)

Well i know im in for a long ride as it has only been 2 months but i cant wait till byron, mirla, amrssnowangel, and the rest of the regulars are accepted so they can move to us "newbies" ...

I just searched the VJ timelines for approved K1's from CSC and found 12 I-129f's received at the same time as or later than my application that have had NOA2's issued. I have not had my application touched. The majority of the NOA2's are from Manilla or Asia. Is this SOP to put certain geographical areas ahead of others. Is that what is happening here? Does anyone know why my application seems to be on hold?

Well except for the fact that not all of the USC petitioners are male......I find one particular Peruvian Male more to my taste.......

I sent my Hersey Kisses and emailed all the Senator's and Congressman......we are 162 days and still waiting and hoping...Os and Lora

I am wondering how many other early June filers out there are still waiting for their NOA2. Our NOA1 date is June 5 (CSC) and everyone else after us seems to be getting approvals. We haven't gotten any touches since June.

Any thoughts? Is this normal? I thought they processed them in the order received.
