@Cyrus9 the FB post went live at the end of September and I think it was indicative of what was happening for October. They must’ve done feb & mar 21 in October, followed by apr & may 21 in November. For December they’ve sent letters to people DQ in June and July 21, which is why I’ve said they appear to cover 2 months at a time to clear the backlog. 

@Tristan L good memory, yes august 2021. Your turn should come soon, maybe March 2023 if they keep doing 2 months at a time. All the best! 

Hi @Tristan L what is your DQ date? NVC has sent interview letters for EB visas until July 2021. They appear to be covering 2 months at a time to help address the backlog. Facebook page should hopefully be updated next week. 

@NatP so have you got an interview date yet or are you still waiting? I believe October dates are all done (for regular none expedited cases anyway). We are just waiting to see what happens for November dates to sense how the backlog is moving. It’s been terribly slow so far… 

Any other news of EB visa appointments at Sydney consulate recently? 

@Tristan L sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I am DQ august 2021 and know a few others around that time who are still waiting on employment visa interview. 
 

I think @NatP got expedite due to being a medical worker, in national interest. 

@NatP yes Sydney consulate was closed for a year, due to covid and then relocation. 
 

I understand your expedite, medical staff are in the national interest and so will get priority, which is important. I have tried expedite, however my work is not something deemed to be urgent, so it was denied. 
 

I hope you get your interview soon. Let us know when you do so we can get a sense of the waiting times, goodluck !  

@NatP EB1 here and DQ august 2021 with no update so far. I know a lot of the family visas have made progress and cleared all of 2021 and are now looking at early 2022 Dq dates. 
 

do you mind sharing your DQ and basis for expedite? I think October interview schedule is booked up, so yes makes sense that November is likely the first available. 

Has anyone in london received an EB interview for October? I know the CR/IR ones have been scheduled. Not sure If the nvc does the mail out of interview dates on different dates?

Hi everyone. Just wanted to get a sense of what the backlog was like in nz for immigrant interviews and if people were getting appointments fairly soon after DQ date? We’ve been waiting in Sydney for 15 months for an interview now with no hope in sight.

October that they start requesting whatever is left from 2021 based on DQ date.
 

I believe you need an offer for an E3, seems like a lot of effort if an interview for Sydney consulate is 3-4 months away (hopefully!)

@Kelc not that I have seen or heard of. Apparently diversity visas and student visas are priority at the moment as they all need to happen before September end. 

@Tristan L sorry to hear about the outcome of your expedite. What are your and @Mattttam thoughts on EB case progress? I think the Sydney consulate is resuming interviews in July, their online portal is allowing passport and other appointments from next week. Hoping they start requesting cases from NVC and set up something in the next 2-3 months. I think cases are sent by DQ date but priority is given to family cases before employment ones. 

@Mattttam Goodluck to you! Hopefully once they clear all the family based visas in the next couple of months, we will get our turn, fingers crossed. 

@Mattttam are you EB as well? No luck so far, we are hoping our case is sent from nvc to Sydney before Christmas and we can have an interview before the end of the year 

@Tristan L Goodluck! Hope it works out. We were DQ in august 2021 however our priority date is from 2018, so we’ve been waiting for what feels like a pretty long time. Hoping this ends by the end of 2022 and we can start our new life in the USA in 2023.

would you ask the consulate directly for expedite or reach out to NVC? What’s your DQ? 
 

we tried expedite in March but that didn’t work out. Given the consulate is now open, they may be more willing to look at it.

I see a lot of activity for K visa transfers to the Sydney consulate. Keen to understand if anyone on an employment visa (EB) has had traction. We are DQ since august 2021 and hoping we will be reviewed by the end of this year.
