That's a good way of looking at it. We filed two expedite requests due to employment opportunities but both were rejected. We just kept reminding ourselves that we're fortunate to be living in the country we are while waiting for the opportunity to live in another great country. Although, I'd be lying if I said there aren't tough days. I think our case was just Dq'd at a really unfortunate time. It seems we just missed the case load that was sent out pre covid lockdown and consulate relocation and have just had to sit in line until the world/Consulate reopens. Hopefully the wait for an interview isn't as long for newer cases like yours being DQ'd now. Goodluck!

Hey JedMills, We haven't received anything other than standard/template style replies from the NVC and consulate. They do send an auto generated email every two months to advise we are DQ'd and still awaiting the Sydney Consulate to request additional cases. We are coming up to being DQ'd for 10 months on 7th July so hoping we hear something soon. I hear the NVC is starting to process cases a little quicker and it seems like the Sydney Consulate are starting to make a dent in K1 interviews. Hopefully you don't have the long wait that we have had.

Hey guys, just checking in to see if any Australian’s waiting on an IR1 interview have recently left the NVC? I’ve seen a number of K1 visas have been sent out but no word from any IR1 applicants. Fingers crossed for everyone!
