    Any experience with interviews in Auckland?

    Hi all, 

     

    So happy to see most of you having completed interviews and ready to head on over to the USA! 

    My family and I are kiwis living in Australia waiting for an interview at Sydney consulate for an immigrant visa. We qualified under the employment based (EB) visa program. 
     

    We’ve been DQ since august 2021 and have not heard from the consulate. They were shut through Sydney lockdown which ended in October and then they relocated to a new office and are still not set up to take appointments. It’s also unclear when they might eventually open and what the backlog or timeline might look like, so we don’t know if it’s weeks/months/years. 
     

    I guess one option we have is to ask NVC to send our case to Auckland consulate and attend the interview there? At least we know it would happen within a couple of months (once NZ has free travel with Australia) 

     

    Just wanted peoples views on whether it was feasible doing it in NZ - sounds like there isn’t a backlog there and it might be a whole lot easier than waiting indefinitely in Sydney?

    First time poster. We are currently in Sydney  waiting for the consulate to reach out about availability for an immigrant visa appointment. We’ve been DQ since august 2021 and did not have any appointment booked pre lockdown or relocation of the consulate. 
     

    Does anyone know when the consulate in Sydney will restart immigrant visa interviews and when we might get a spot? Sorry, I realise it’s a very open question but we have no idea if it will be weeks/months/years!

    Hello, I’m a first time poster so please be kind :) 

     

    My husband qualified for an employment based immigrant visa (EB) and opted for consular processing. We are DQ at NVC since August 2021. We were not expecting to hear from the Sydney consulate during lockdown but when lockdown ended, there was still no contact. I’ve only just become aware of the consulate relocation/closure and that clarifies the lack of contact. 
     

    Do you know when they might restart immigrant visa interviews? Has anyone had a similar DQ and heard from the consulate? We would just like to know if it’s weeks/months/years that we need to be prepared to wait for.
