Hi Everyone<
I'm new to the site, and I must say after reading for most of the day that I feel so sad.
I'm In love with a man From Senegal for two years now, I wanted to bring him hear on a K1 visa but
after reading everything it seem impossiable. I have been on dissabilty for 7+ years, and my money is little. I have no family support, my sister who has money and a great partner thinks I'm crazy to talk to any one on the internet.
So guy's If I could get the money to go to Dakar, get married over there will he be able to leave Africa then, and what would the cost be for him to get out?
I realy love him and I know that God's timming is everything, I just pray that there is still hope for us!!
Thanks for reading this, and I will be praying for all you guy's that all your heart's be full with the love you want and you visas come quickly!
Love to all,
Susan + Gill
before u can file on a spouse or fiance visa which is k1,k3,cr1. u still have to visit the person atleast once b4 u can plan to bring him here, so u still have to go to senegal and be with him for a while, alteast couple of days even engage if u re going on k1 route, then u have to keep the record of most of the communication btw. u 2, pics that shows both of u together and his family, ur flight ticket, hotel accomodation if one, etc. but if u re getting married with him on ur trip after marriage, then when u get back to state u can file in for spouse visa cr1 or k3 depend on u. finally if u earn little u need co-sponsor, not compulsory to be ur sister could be friend, if am wrong someone should help.

Legal status in Canada (for our purposes) is not exclusive to citizens and landed immigrants. I had a work permit and Bren a study permit, and that was more than enough. I would asume (not sure though) that same applies to refugees, but double check with Vancouver
Good luck, L.
Legal status doesn't matter in the case of K3s as they're required by the LIFE act to interview in the country they got married (in this case they were married in Canada). Such a weird piece of legislation there!
misa i guess u re right, since the life act says u can only interview where the marriage took place except if it is in US, it should be fine, even since he said that he has work permit, for two year and working, that is an evidence of living in canada not a visitor and that should be enough as a status, so that should be ok i guess

I got married last Dec. 14, 2006 in the Philippines w/ a U.S. borned Mexican guy; I came to U.S. last July 30 under K-3 visa; we mailed the application of 1-485 last Sept. 24, 2007 to USCIS Nebraska Service Center.
During my stay in his house, I don't feel he treated me as a wife, he is irresponsible! He even drive me to his friend's house last night, he said.... he don't want me to stay in his house, this is America, who knows there must be a guy for me waiting at his friend's house, so I should stay there for a couple of night.
Since I am still waiting for the processing of my greencard, can I look for a relocation & work to earn a living to support myself?
It is hard & difficult to be treated like this in a foreign land. Pls. help me
Thanks & Best Regards.
living seperate can cause problem with ur AOS interview, i dont think u can get ur green card without the support of ur petitioner which is ur husband, except u re lucky that u re approve without interview, so i guess u should find out what the problem was and reconcile with him, in my own understanding, a man that travell all the way from US to philippine get married to you, waited for u to come over to US and if am not wrong spend so much money for the trip and the processing of the application and within couple of month started treating u bad. sorry to say this, this is ur own side of the story , something must be wrong. i guess
Wow, jeje, you are so understanding. Why can't you just accept the fact that he may be an abusive man? Just because someone spends money and goes to another country for a bride doesn't mean they can't abuse you. In fact, many man go to other countries to bring a submissive wife and knowing the newly arrived bride will not have any relatives or help, and they can treat them like #######. Maybe you are one of them? That's why you can't seem to understand. She was asking for support and motivation, not your negativity.
i guess u just read the bottom of my post, as u said i accepeted, he could be an abusive man right , can u suggest the best solution to the problem, i pray she can get her green card without interview, does she has any family in US to support her, contacting an attorney, is gonna cost her money and she even need money even only to support her self let alone contacting an attorney, i have not been judgemental, can she get AOS approve on interview without the support of her husband, conatcting philipine embassy as someone said, can that make her remain in US,her husband did not ready to continue the processing of their AOS, cos the way she was explaining is like the guy is getting out of hand, and if the husband withdraw from the application according to uscis she has to forfiet her visa and go back to her country and she cannot change to another visa and she cannot do AOS with and another man, so what is the best solution, i guess she posted here for we vjs member to help, not contact people out there, or attorney that will charge her money to do nuthing. my piece of advice is to figue out what could have been the problem and sort it out, am not in support to seperation,

Please get back to me please.
We don't know what to do. I got my passport three weeks ago and have some problems with the law that I have to work out first. We were going to Ghana and get married.

Congraduations on your marriage.
i dont think u will have any problem visiting lagos alot of people have been in lagos and went back to their country savely, so that should not be a problem, if u realy love him u can visit and get marry, then file for spouse visa rather than fiancee visa, i guess when marriage involve it helps a bit with visa processing. may GOD BE WITH YAH

Okay, so my evidence of our relationship is all in Italy, I've never been to Tunisia....well yet. I moved to Italy for 3 years to be with him. I have evidence of callin him and emails to his yahoo.it account. Now, he has no residency there, now lawyers have told me its not a big deal but I don't understand how it couldn't be a big deal. He can go back to Tunisia, but I'm afraid that if I make him go back to Tunisia *which he would do no problem* but if does not get approved he's stuck in Tunisia. Is my case a lost cause? We have tons of pictures trps to florence and birthdays, does anyone have any advice? someone said I would be better off just getting a lawyer. I feel that this can be cornered some how, Like why even bring up Italy? Yes we met there but is it necessary to elaborate? How about the phone calls to an italian number as part of my evidence? I NEED HIM HERE!!! I'm a full time student receiving my MBA and I can't focus on anything, I can't sleep, this is all so stressful for me. SOMEONE HELP ME!!
sorry, more elobarotion, how did he get to italy, did go to italy with a visa, or what, and did he has any id issue by italian government to show at the us embassy when his interview come , the most important thing that he must have his passort of his nationality to get the visa

There is a loophole with K3s though. According to the LIFE act, K3s interview in the country where they were married. If you were married in Canada, you can interview in Canada. Were you married in Canada?
http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_1315.html
Nonimmigrant visa for spouse (K-3) - It is important to note that application for the nonimmigrant visa for spouse (K-3) who married a U.S. citizen must be filed and the visa must be issued in the country where the marriage took place. Now, if you married in the U.S. it would go to your country of residence/home country.
yeah i married in calgary, alberta.

since i applied for my permanent residence in canada already on humanitarian and compassionate after the refugee case was denied and is still in procesing, bcos that is the only option when refugee case is been denied, and working legally and paying tax, so i believe it could work, i guess uscis will foward the case to the country where u married i guess that is what uscis says.
In order for you to interview in Canada you must have legal status that will allow you to stay at least 6 months. If you are unsure you can email the Montreal Consulate if that is where your interview would be taking place if allowed, or Vancouver if that is where you would be interviewing. Either way, I would recommend that you are very clear with them as to what your status is in Canada and if you aren't happy with the answer, email them again.

Vancouver: vancouverK@state.gov
i have a work permit that valid for next 2 years
i guess it should work out, since a refugee claimant in canada can marry a canadian PR or citizen, and get thier PR, the same thing in US too refugee claimant can marry USC and get his/her paper, the only one i know was that a refugee claimant in US marry a candian citizen and she immigrate to canada, so i think it should work, once u have immigration paper that allow u to stay and work in that country, and u re not subjected to deportation i think u should be fine, i dont think k3 will go to ur country of nationality since that is not where u got marry,u can only apply for k3 where u got, except if u marry in US then u have to go to ur home country.

what he suggested is not possible at all, after u get married with him u have to come back to US to start the application, u can prepare all the forms along with u so both of u can fill it together once to save the hassle of mailing some forms later in the day wich is gonna cost money and time, u need form i-130, then G-325A BIOGRAPHY form it has 4 pages both of u has to fill the 4 pages each and sign it, but if u want him in US faster u can apply for both i-130 and i-129f wich is for k3, so if he come on k3 visa then he will adjust status, it is up to u, u can go to uscis website to read about the forms, and the application procedure
