  1. If it is just a connection in AMS then no transit visa is needed since you would

stay in the transit area and not clearing immigration or customs. If it is a real

stop over with the intention to leave the airport, let's say for a downtown

visit, then some sort of visa is required.

Nationals of certain countries also require an airport transit visa to change aircraft at a Dutch airport, even though they do not actually enter Dutch territory.

Countries whose nationals need an airport transit visa

    Afghanistan

    Angola

    Bangladesh

    Colombia

    DR Congo

    Eritrea

    Ethiopia

    Gambia

    Ghana

    Guinea

    Iran

    Iraq

    Nigeria

    Pakistan

    Sierra Leone

    Sudan

    Somalia

    Sri Lanka

    Syria

u dont need a transit visa if u re just stoping to connect,we_destiny the case u cited is referring to who hold visitor's visa. when u re travelling on a student, work and immigrant visa u dont need on except u re existing the airport then u need transit B .if u doubt it contact any airline in ur home country or travelling agent

  2. The first lady I talked to a week ago just called back. She said that she pulled my file and the I-130 hadn't been sent to NVC yet. It sounds like it was just sitting there with nothing happening to it. She said she would forward on to the people that send it to NVC and said it should take about 2 weeks.

    Hello Ctygl,

Do you remember the name of the lady you spoke with? My K-3 and I-130 were both approved on Jan. 9 and my K-3 has yet to make it to NVC. I called USCIS to see what was going on because it should only take 2-4 weeks from approval to reach the NVC, and she said that most likely they didn't separate the K-3 from the folder with my I-130 in it and it was mistakenly sent to the National Records Center. She ordered my file sent back to them and said that could take about 2 weeks. I was going to call tomorrow because tomorrow marks two weeks and I have not heard from them yet. When she called, how did the number show up on your caller ID? Just curious, so I know what to look for if they actually call me first.

Thanks for your assistance in advance,

    Deb

how do u guys call california directly?

  3. HMMM.. NOBODY REPLIED THIS... ANYWAY, THE WRONG SPELLING WAS BEING FIXED ALREADY. MY HUSBAND JUST CALLED THE USCIS HOTLINE AND HE TALKED TO A GIRL, THE GIRL JUST DID SOMETHING TO FIX OUR PROB.. IT WAS GOOD THIS TIME ITS NOT RUDE PERSON, IT WAS NICE, HE SAID THAT CSC IS ON AUGUST NOW , AND SHE SAID TO MY HUSBAND THAT WE SHOULD EXPECT TO BE APPROVED BY NEXT MONTH... I HOPE SHE SPOKE LIKE AN ANGEL AND WILL COME TRUE.. (L) (L)

good news, what number did u call to get to CSC

  4. you will have better luck finding information at a Canadian immigration forum than a US one! http://roadtocanada.com/

u re right about british marriage visa, that was the easiest spouse visa i have ever seen, when a british marry a foreign national just go to british embassy and apply for marriage visa just like that. unlike canada and usa. u have to go through immigration processing,

first ur canadian wife will file an application for u in canada, after couple of month when u get approval, ur case will be sent to canadian embassy in egypt where the beneficiary resides, then u will be call for interview. please dont just go to canada embassy with ur canadian wife and request for visa to go to canada that could cause a red flag in ur future application

  5. I just emailed the Ombudsman's office (cisombudsman@dhs.gov):

Please help Visa Journey members! We are DESPERATE for answers! People that have applied for the I-130 visa AND the K3 (seems like after July 30, 2007) are automatically getting their K3 visa application cancelled for no apparent reason! I am absolutely devastated as my husband (USC) sent in my I-130 application on August 7th, we waited 51 days for our NOA1, then submitted the K3 application. We are HOPING to have our NOA2 for K3 by the end of March but now, I am almost having an anxiety attack just thinking about it. Please read:

I talked to CSC AGAIN today and asked specifically about the cancellation of K3's. I was told that YES, K3 applications are now going through an "administrative closure" after the I-130 is approved. It started late last year, I was never given an exact date. Those of you whose K3's are now with the NVC were perhaps processed before this went into effect. I don't know. What I do know is that it isn't worth filing the K3 visa application and may slow you down.

This is a post from a Visa Journey forum member. The problem is is that it will cost a lot of money and even MORE time (which is the most precious) to then submit an I-130 for my son, then have it catch up to my I-130, then to fly all the way to Montreal for the interview (approx. $1500 for 2 of us) rather than Vancouver for the K3, as well as hotel accomodations. It is more important for most filers to be together sooner & have extra expenses on AOS, rather than the money gained from employment as soon as we enter the US.

WE ARE BEGGING YOU TO PLEASE HELP US WITH THIS SITUATION ASAP....MANY PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY HAD THEIR K3 VISA APPLICATION CANCELLED! THIS IS FRAUD ON BEHALF OF USCIS!

    Thank you for your time!

    Sincerely,

    Jennifer & James

Let's hope something gets straightened out ASAP

i love the presentation of ur letter to the cisobudsman, as u point out the advantage of k3 when going through vancouver,it save time, money, and energy, to go through montreal for cri.

  6. Hi Everyone,

I just received a letter yesterday, stating I have a local office interview at the LOS ANGELES OFFICE.. FINALLY, something will get done that day.. it is scheduled for February 21 at 1PM.. I hear that they can make the decision that day and all they are looking for is more evidence " for an ongoing marital relationship"... hope something good comes out of all this.. :innocent::innocent:

gogo i respect ur courage alot, and i believe GOD will give u a positive result that day.

  7. Section 221(g) which prohibts the issuance of a visa to anyone whose application does not comply with the provision of the immigration and nationality act or regulation issued pursuant thereto.

Your case has been returned for review to the approving immigraion office via the National vsa center you will be contacted and may follow up directly with that office for further information

It that is all it says and there are no instructions for you to provide anything or no mention of administrative review, then it is a Notice of Intent to Deny. The petition will be sent back to the service center in the US, where they will most likely just let the approval expire.

If it says more, please either provide all the text or scan and attach the document to a post. Actually scan a copy and black out any personal identifying information.

Some of these notices can be overcome with the intervention of a local attorney familiar with the Consulate. That is the course of action I would recomment.

Surely, you have some clue as to the reason. Usually, they don't believe the relationship is bona fide. So, why do you think this happened?

that is the paper that they gave me :

    post-37592-1201017386_thumb.jpg

That's a straigh Notice of Intent to Deny. As I see it, you have two choices.

    1. Get a local lawyer to attempt to intervene immediately.

    2. Kiss the visa goodbye.

You must have some clue as to the reason for this, based on the interview. What do you think?

the interview was ok and i answered all questions .......

just one clarification. your profile says country: jordan, and your timeline says consulate: sydney, australia

  8. tailmix: when it comes to canada spouse immigration it's not as tough as us immigration, even outside the country canada want family to be together it's only visitor visa u cant grab from canada embassy easily from 3rd world county. within the country he can even apply for work permit immediatly he got the first approval.but i dont know how canada embassy treat internet relationship we all know that us does not care about that.

    Hi jeje,

My Husband is a Canadian Permanent Resident, so I have done the paperwork etc.

While Canadian immigration is 'nicer' in that you can live with your spouse while your application is being processed. That is different than it being 'easier' in terms of the checks that they make on people before they are approved.

trailmix good; if u come to canada with legal visa in term of student or work visa and u marry canadian citizen or landed immigrant.they hardly they go on any checks b4 u get ur approval.even all my friend that came on student and got marry here they never went for interview b4 they got their approval.u dont need to go through this grumpy uscis, nvc, getting stuck in fbi check aos. moreso getting ur docs missed my the useless uscis and asking crazy RFE. canada immigration is far far easier than usa even not comparable at all.

  9. Perhaps you are right, I guess I shouldn't say naive or retarded but ignorant of how things work outside of her own country and her own isolated lonliness. Cripes get a pet, a dog would help with that I think, but truly at this point I don't think she would listen.

If her family is tellig her to calm down and she doesnt listen I doubt a complete stranger telling her would affect her.

besides, these men do sweet talk when they want something badly enough. I've heard of 22 year old boys telling 65 year old women that they are the most beautiful thing they've ever seen and then turning around and doing it to 10 others. I just hope he knows what he is doing, she could be unstable and get really pissed off when she figures out he is just using her. she could have him arrested or worse.

It sounds to me like you are trying to justify not telling her? Hey, I'm not blaming you, it's a sticky situation you are in, not REALLY wanting to get involved but caring enough to want to try and help another human being from possibly being very hurt.

You might want to mention to him that when he does get to Canada, which could be a very long time, if they decide to apply with him outside of the country, he will probably be sitting waiting for that PR card for quite a while (based on the little we know of the relationship it sounds like it has red flags posted all over it). Even if they apply with him in Canada, he could be sitting around waiting for a few years, with nothing much to do!

Canada immigration can be just as tough as U.S. immigration and he might just end up in a review for several years, this poor woman will probably get to know him very well in that time.

  10. transferred my canadian over to mayrland.. no tests needed. Only problem was that I had a canadian CDL and Maryland only gave me a regular license.

pardon my ignorancy, regular one ? means the writting one?

No, she had a Commercial Driver's License in Canada but now only has a 'regular' driver's license, for driving a car.

    trailmix thanx for the clarification

  12. Well i went in to transfer my Maryland Dl over to Texas today. Showed them my DL, Social and my passport. She looked at the visa and I-94 and said she didnt know if she can because they are expired.. then she asks do you have a valid passport and I said that is my passport and she laughed and said duh. She took it to the back and came back and said that I was fine to transfer it over.. Ive read on here people having a lot of issure in Texas trying to get a DL but for some odd reason if you have one from another state its ok to transfer..

only lame thing is it takes Texas 4-6 weeks to mail out DL.

did u tranfer ur canada driver's license when u get to states or u start all over again. i need more enlightment here

  13. Our I-130 was approved yesterday. We had also filed the i-129f, but it hasn't been approved yet. USCIS said since the i-130 was approved first than we will have to go the IR/CR route. Does anyone know how long we will wait for the interview now for Cuidad Juarez, Mexico. The processing times says 400 some days. With the k-3 it was 3 to 4 months after approval. I really don't want to wait another year. So I guess its a bitter sweet approval.

did u call uscis to confirm that u have go to IR/CR

  14. So my Husband went for his medical today - Dr. Viljoen - Hummingbird Medical, Cosmetic and Aesthetic Institute, 100, 1919 Sirocco Drive S.W.

Calgary (Big brown building) P. (403) 242-0484 (press 3 to hear all the stuff you have to take then press zero to speak with a person to make an appointment)

    http://www.hummingbirdcosmetic.com/html/practice.html

Cost $260 - must be paid in cash. If you need immunizations they can be had for a fee - which can be paid with debit.

Medical can be picked up 4 days later (they will also send it by courier if you like - details on website).

The side of the building facing the road says Hummingbird, but the awnings say furnishings and accessories. Once inside there are 2 desks, main and a little one person cubby hole with a sign that says 'family physician' - that is the one you go to.

Appointment was for 1:00, he showed up about 10-15 minutes early and only had to wait about 3 minutes (was originally for tomorrow but they called yesterday to change it as the Dr is not going to be in). The Nurse took him in to a room and took medical history - any history of - the usual. He was then shown to another room, computer wasn't working in there so they took him to another room. Told to take clothing off from the waist down and given a paper sheet. He waited in there about 10 minutes before Dr. Viljoen showed up. He said he seems like a decent guy with a 'Dr Attitude'.

Has a look/feel down there - "making sure there are only 2, if there are 3 you have to wait here until one is gone - if there is only 1 then you can still go".

Has to take off shirt, listens to chest, stomach, takes blood pressure, general prodding.

He then gets his tetanus shot ($30), which he knew he would have to get, Dr told him it would hurt for about a week.

That's it, he then proceeded to the front desk, paid and was given sheets for the lab and xray and was out of there. He has had a titre for MMR, which isn't back yet, however they said it was fine for him to drop it off on the day he comes to pick up the medical next week.

One thing the Dr did mention was that the new guidelines require many more vaccinations than before (which are not generally given in Canada during childhood), it mentions them in the interview letter - also mentions that it is up to the Dr to determine which ones apply.

Blood tests are at: Calgary Lab Services - Glenbrook - Bay 154, 3715 – 51 St SW

X-ray is at: Radiology Consultants Associated - Westbrook Professional Building - 200, 1610 - 37 Street SW (right next to Walmart at Westbrook Mall - but it is a separate building)

did the doctor give out the vaccination worksheet in which u can transcibe to i-639a when u get usa.

  15. Hi All,

My I129 just got approved. I am not sure if its a good thing or not. My I130 has already reach embassy and my wife got Packet 3.5 last week. See my timeline. What is gonna happen now?.. I thought if my I130 approves before K3 than it automatically terminates K3.. please advice...

asmo, ur timeline did not show i-129f please modify

  16. I get really disgusted with these people that use others for the sole purpose of a green card. It makes it harder for the rest of us that just want to marry and live with our loved one.

I feel the same. It places a stamp on us...the ones that really do love....

ahmed & sue i respect and honor a statement in ur message. lots of marriage ended dirvoce even USC marry to USC are they also marry for green card? it comes up to my thought everytime this issue of marrying for green card sake come up here,i have seen a lot americans which their marriage did not last for months less alone years, why people always think negative.

this goes to surrender. re u he or she?

  18. I don't think I have ever hit the 1 month mark.

But do as Jenn says, send it again be FedEx, UPS, DHL, something that you can track.

sending letter down there should officially take 2 to three weeks, but the problem is the postmen distributing the letter. if they find it just lil bit hard getting the add. they return the stuff back to the post office. just tell ur fiance to go to the closest post offfice to his place, they will dig it for him. b4 they return it to sender

  19. I'm in a very similar situation except for Italy and not the UK. If on your application you listed him as residing in the UK currently then they will schedule his interview to be at the consulate in the UK even if you requested Tirana. At this point my plan is to just go for it without giving them any heads up. We just sent in out Packet 3 and are waiting for Naples to give us an interview date. My plan is if they ask for his Italian residence permit that I will just say that we have no plans to re-enter Italy like as is needed to show for a tourist visa. Remember this is the American consulate that holds the interview and they are concerned about illegal immigration to the U.S. and are not keeping themselves busy controlling immigration for other countries. I even had an American immigration lawyer tell me that it won't matter to the U.S. immigration if my fiance has been deported from another country but it does matter if he has ever been deported from the U.S. I figure if they won't process our case because of lack of Italian documents then at that point we will ask to transfer the case to Albania. As far as flights go, all that will matter at the U.K. airport is if he has a U.S. visa in hand and a one way ticket to America. If so, then it shouldn't be a prob, but you can always call the airport to be sure. As far as I'm aware there is no direct flight from Albania to America anyway so no matter what he'd have to have some kind of plane change in E.U.

i guess there will be no problem about being illegal in one country b4 u can apply for kvisa or immigrant visa to usa. this kind of visa we re talking here is more or less family base visa it carry weight unlike visitor visa. this thread has been going on here but not definate answer from reliable source who have gone through this yet.i will just imploy ur fiance to have pasport from his home country where the visa will be stamp.
