  1. What is this? I read in another post someone got a B1 Visa that says they can enter the united states legally during the course of 10 years, I'm really confused, how do you get one of these? I would love to be able to get one for my fiance so she can wait out the process here with me legally. Or is that not how it works? Either way what is this 10 year tourist visa?

  2. What my experience has taught me is that once a foreginer visits the US it is VERY hard to return with a tourist visa if a long time hasn't gone by. When my fiance wanted to come visit me here in July, she had come previously in Februrary, her tourist visa was denied. She had a lot of proof that tied her to Brazil but the guy didn't even look at the documents :angry: Poor thing almost fainted she was so crushed. I hope you have better luck, not only will it be good for you and your fiace but it offers hope to the rest of us.

  3. :)

    Check out the Abbreviations page here at VJ.

    RFE = Request for Evidence

    It's when the USCIS needs more evidence of a bona fide relationship, more info that you may have missed, etc. etc. :)

    Oh ok thank you :thumbs:

    Thanks, I want to fill it out but I'm having a bit of trouble you now, it doesn't say anything about an I-797C, bascially out of all the questions that are on there all I know is the date the VSC received the I-129F petition.

    I'm a little lost when it comes to this stuff. All I know so far is what is in my signature, that it was received by the VSC on Oct. 9, 2007 and on Oct. 17, 2007 I received the I-797C, I'm not really sure what that is, I thought I was going to receive an NOA1, sooo confused.

    The I-797 you received is your NOA1. You'll get a similar I-797 as well saying "notice of approval" which is also known as the NOA2. :)

    Oh ok, I understand now, hopefully it won't take lon :blush:

  4. Hi guys,

    I noticed this morning my check posted to my account. I went to the mailbox and there was the NOA1. It was a nice feeling. Now come the WAIT! I am trying to get my Juliana to understand that this process takes time. She is under the illusion it will only take 4 months. I keep telling her 6-8 but I will let her dream.

    Here is a toast to all! Here is to the first step and expensive phone bills! Salu!

    JKD 88--- Parabéns e boa sorte. Nós iremos estar esperando com vocês.

    Mike

    I know what you mean, my Eliane feels the same way, it's really hard on her, I try to comfort her but it's difficult from so far away.

    Obrigado cara, pra vcs tambem, se Deus quiser nos nao vamos ter q esperar muito.

Today, while I was in a work meeting, Isabel called and let me know that she received packet #3 from the U.S. Embassy in Lima, Peru. :dance: We have an interview dat of December 3rd., 2007. Soon we will be together and it will be a great Christmas here in Ohio. Keep the faith June filers, your dates are coming. :thumbs:

    Congratulations :dance::thumbs:

  6. I'm just trying to get an idea for when we'll be able to be together again you know, I do find it comforting to be around, even if it is virtually, people in the same boat as us.

    By what I've read I think it's been going pretty fast right? Hopefully I'll receive the NOA2 soon, when I do what do I do next? How long after the NOA2 until we get to be together?

    Hi :)

    The process is taking in excess of 6 months...you have a ways to wait yet. Fast is not in the immigration vocabulary!

    Where is your fiancee from??? You can always go visit.... I'm assuming you are a guy right?

    Did you look at the links I sent you????

    Here is the K1 visa flowchart ... CLICK HERE

    I wish I could go visit her but money is just really tight right now :(

    I'm praying for a miracle, for it not to take all of 6 months

    Oh and what does TOUCH mean?

    Almost nothing. It means someone working at the USCIS did something with your file. That could mean they were working on it and put it away while they went to lunch, or they handed it to another desk, or any of a number of things. Some people get excited when they see a "touch" but it rarely means anything signifigant. Once the USCIS gives you a case number you'll be able to obsess over touches at the USCIS website. :)

    Oh that would be nice to obsess over lol, I have a case number but so far no touches

  9. Oh ok, I'll have a look. I really look forward to talking to everyone here, and sharing our experiences.

    I put my timeline so far in my signature if anyone is interested.

    I'd love to hear other experiences in this hard proccess.

    For other that have been through this process what was the average time that it took from the sending of the I-129F to the U.S. Entry?

    I apologize if I'm asking too many questions it's just that, I don't know I'm desperate I guess, this whole thing is being really hard on me and my fiance.
