  1. Hi All,

My wife and I will soon be moving from Central Alberta to Cleveland, Ohio now that I have my CR1. I've been looking for the best way to move our 2 bedroom apartment and possibly a truck. Some of the threads on moving I've seen were a bit old, so I thought I would check to see what people have used recently to make a long distance cross border move. I know with gas prices now it will be tricky any way, but thought I would explore options. I have looked into UPack, but we would have to move our belongings to load in Calgary first, so that's an extra step.

Thanks for suggestions and stories of your experience!

    how were those interviews?

Interview went very smoothly, was approved and I received the passport back with visa yesterday, via Purolator!

Also, I would recommend to anyone considering medical options- Dr Cheema in Surrey was an easy experience with the labs being just up the street, with little wait time required. They submitted the reports digitally within two days of the exam.

Thankful for the community providing so much helpful information throughout this process.

My wife used him and there wasn't an issue. All records were sent via email to the Montreal consulate. She had her medical about three weeks before the interview.

Thanks to all who provided their experience on Dr Cheema.

I’m also wondering, is it alright to fly back home later the same day of the medical if the results will be sent electronically or courier? Did anyone receive their X-ray CD the same day?

This is the response I got from Dr Cheema’s office:

"Medical report and CXR CD could take up to one week to be ready.

The CD and vaccination record package could be mailed to your home address once ready."

I was doc qualified in November and my wife is currently living in Canada as a visitor, and we have extended her visa a couple times. It's expiring in a couple months and we were wondering if it would be safe at this stage in the process, for us both to visit the States and return to Canada to renew her visa. I haven't travelled to the States since applying for the I-130, as our lawyer advised against due to the risk of complications. Most of his clients are overseas, in which the US/CAN visa dynamic is quite different. Form this forum's experience, is this fair advice or is it safe for me to cross the border for a family visit before my interview? Thanks!
